What annoys you most about computers/the internet?

It drives me nuts when forums don't have set rules regarding bumping old threads. At one forum I frequent, if you bump an old thread, you get accused of thread necromancy. But if you make a duplicate thread, someone else is sure to remark about how there is already a thread about this.

To be fair, it is mainly members who do this; since mods seem to rarely lock old bumped threads, it seems that the unspoken rule is to bump, but I wish the rules weren't unspoken. I don't even care if the rules are pro or con bumping, I just wish they were clearly stated.

I hate that. I once saw a board where the mods damn near freak out if members bumped a thread that was a MONTH old and would get snippy about it.

Let's see where to begin

Big annoyances:

* Ads with sound. I bypass the Windows mixer so instead of just mixing in with my sound it totally kills my stream of whatever I was listening to. This probably annoys me the most

* People who don't know what they're talking about spreading misinformation and refusing to reconsider their positions. I deal with this in a the field of compressed audio quite a lot, but also in general

Smaller annoyances:

* The fact that 32-bit XP can't address and use all my RAM. Not really a big deal but still I paid for it

* The fact that the sound card and video card drivers for Vista for my hardware are subpar to say the least. I don't really mind it as an OS other than that. 64-bit can address all my RAM

* Malware. It doesn't actually really do anything to my computer, but just wastes my time expunging it

* The fact I pay for 6mbit down and get about 3.5

* Flash. I seriously think it's tacky most of the time

* The fact that Firefox is turning into a bit of a RAM hog

* People who feel the need to type in ALL CAPS or txt tlk. Eception of course for humour purposes

I think that mostly covers it. I can't really think of anything else.

Programmes
Windows Movie Maker. I am glad I have it or else I couldn't make videos, but it frustrates me to no end because it is always freezing.

Norton Anti virus. It would not let me on any site. Not even neopets.

People
Those on youtube who tend to say "You know what I heard?..." and then sprout out a load of information regardless of whether it is from a reliable source or not.

The MSNers who say "Can I have your addy?" and then never talk to you or are never online.

People who can't stop arguing.

People who constantly compare Evanescence to Within Temptation and Nightwish then, if someone disagrees, they say "Evaneascnce are GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!111"

When I go into a chat room with a specific subject such as "Talk about your favourite Sailor Moon episodes" and all I get are people arguing and talking about sex.

People who want to be online Bf and Gf.

Males who always say "Who wants to be my Gf"

Girls who attack you if you don't like the same band member.

Youtubers who call you "GAY" or "Sad" if they don't like your videos. One time this guy commented on my video saying I used a stupid song which didn't match the video. I told him that was his opinion and that the song wasn't for everyone. He still continued to argue.

When AOL advertise broadband on there own homepage. I already have it!

And as for the "Screamers" topic. I was eating an omlette when I was exposed to one of them and I almost choked to death.

That is my biggest peeve with movie maker. That sucker freezes SO often.

Thats as bad as the ones who bring their fights into a chatroom or across blogs. I literally seen couples who are one min lovey dovey the next tear each other apart, put nasty photos or personal information online. Its sad.

But I agree with Tiff there are couples who have met online and been mature about it and are sucessful. Heck my best friend and I maintain our frienship via online cause were so many miles away but its been ongoing for over 4 years. I dont blame the internet just the dumbasses on it.

Im annoyed with the comments left after news stories on sites like AOL news and the like. I dont know if some of these people are for real or just bored, but the lack of intelligence is frightening. From racial slurs and bias attacks on homosexuals women and children some of these idiots just spout out garbage. And the whole "Report This" button is a joke. I dont understand why people would use serious stories such as the 13 yr old who killed herself as a way to spread malicious words and display lack of a brain. It makes me only scroll down so far now.

They really need to make the comment center more like these forums, cause its completely ridiculous what some people leave in those boxes ugh

Trolls-Especially this one troll that was on the V For Vendetta boards on IMDB and was like VINO is the worst movie according to Natalie Portman! I'm glad he's gone for now, I think he eventually gave up and went to the 300 board. (Oh and VINO=V In Name Only)

Also went people talk all "ghetto" "gangsta" and type weird. I knew this one girl WHO WOULD TYP3 LIK3 THIS B3CAUS3 SH3 THINKS SH3'S AW3SOM3!!! Honestly, why replace your E's for 3's? Or when people OOOMMMGGG THIS MOVIE IS SOOOO RACIST! and they don't give a good explanation.

Lately I've been getting spam mail from Canadian Pharmacy and they want to sell me Viagra and Cialis.

I hate it how some people on facebook, use their status and say OMG I'M HIIIGHHHH!!! Do I really want to know? Or they mention their drug use in their wall to wall and it appears on my newsfeed. In general, I don't like people that have wall to wall appear on their friend's newsfeeds.
