MTV's Real World/Road Rules

Post by AnimeGuru0 » Sun Jul 04, 2004 12:32 am

Anybody a fan of these shows? Favorite people? Favorite seasons? Etc? It all goes here.

Anyways, I love these shows (even though I don't like 99% of all other reality TV shows). For starters, these were one of a kind back before Survivor started the reality TV craze. I guess I'm just loyal after 10+ years of watching it.

Is anyone watching the new season of Road Rules airing? Just a predicition, but I think Danny is gonna get kicked off if/when they fail another mission (which i'm sure is inevitable). He's not in many of the "clips" from future missions so I'm thinking he'll be getting the boot soon. Please tell me I'm not the only person who watches these shows.

Well, um, I find most of the Road Rules and Real World things irritating, except for the newest season of RW. I liked Frankie. She made it tolerable.

I think bringing a more diverse crowd into RR and RW would be beneficial. Sure, the casts are multiethnic and multireligious and multisexorientationed and everything, but they all still enjoy going out and drinking and partying and getting into the hot tub.

I noticed that. Or maybe they do have people that don't like drinking and partying but since that's "boring" they don't show them. I have a feeling that Jacquese in the last RW season didn't like partying too much, they just didn't show it.

I USED to follow Real World and Road Rules to a certain extent, but I can't stand watching either for long these days... But yeah they were probably the first reality shows on tv.

I love watching the Real World. It's addicting. Real World: Chicago was the first one I saw and it was my favorite one.

I don't like Road Rules much, but I do like the Real World/Road Rules Challange.

Chicago was the last good season in my opinion. Vegas, Paris, San Diego all were lackluster in my opinion. From the Chicago cast, I have a soft spot in my heart for Tonya, even though everyone else hates her, I can't help but love her. I'm just a sucker for the underdog (or the person nobody else likes).

I began to follow The Real World religiously beginning with the Chicago season.

Quick RW Story:

Last summer, at the Margaritaville restaurant in Key West, I dined just feet away from Chicago's Carrie. It was an amazing experience... sort of. There were only three parties in the restaurant, so I could have easily approached her, but it would have been awkward.

I actually like the newer seasons. Paris sort of lacked drama, but I thought Vegas and San Diego were hilariously dramatic.

I've only managed to catch the first two episodes of the new Road Rules season. Strangely, I love most of the girls and hate all of the guys on this one.

About a year ago, MTV had a RW Las Vegas marathon on. I watched it, and was suprised at the stupidity of these people. Trishelle was possibly the biggest slut I've ever seen. Vote number 230 on RW's Jump the Shark: " ...NOBODY could be any sluttier or mo whorish than Trishelle. She's had a couple of guys from other Real World shows plus a couple of the Road Rulers. MTV could make a show for her called The Real Bad Rash. " The triangle between her and Steven and Frank was ridiculously annoying.
Alton and Irulan both need a kick in the ass : Alton for repeatedly playing mind games with Irulan and cheating on her ridiculously (The asshole had a threesome and lied about it), and Irulan for sticking with him through all of his shit. I mean, they were still together well after the show aired. The only people I like were Arissa and Brinn. Arissa was smart and pretty hot to boot, and Brinn threw a fork at one of the two idiots, Steven or Frank.
San Diego (the new one) pissed me off a tad around the time when Frankie left. The other roomates said they didn't hate her, then immediately said things like "I just realized what a negative energy Frankie carried with her." Well, if you hadn't maximized her negative energy with your chronic fuckwittage, maybe she would have been more pleasant for your stupid arses to be around! Cameran especially twisted Frankie's words about the "just too punk rock for it" by making it sound as if she was saying she was too cool for them, which isn't what she meant. Frankie was the only one who made the season tolerable, like Anthy said. The others were quite stupid, especiallly Cameran, Robin, and Brad. The post-Frankie shows were annoying (I still think they should have picked Bobby, dammit, maybe it wouldn't have been as horrid) and on tomorrow night's reunion, I hope Frankie pulls out an AK-47 and shoots all those idiots full of holes.

EDIT: Oh my God. That was a ridiculous rant I went on. I really should work on not mindlessly blathering on things.

I don't know, Sailor X. You have a lot of interesting points, but the other roomates didn't completely maximize her negative energy.

Remember Adam? Frankie brought to herself all that stress after she kissed him, which was one of the main reasons why she left the house.

Cameron pisses me off. She acts like such a little kid and then expect people to treat her seriously. Like that episode when Brad had his one night stand and she was, "That's disgusting. I can't talk to him anymore." Damn, sometimes I really can't stand her.

I can't wait til the reunion tomorrow.

I actaully couldn't stand Frankie. I think she was an attention whore. I know she had some real problems (cystic fibrosis, and fear of... boats, and cutting), but damn. She's more effed up than Trishelle. She played up her drama with her boyfriend to the extreme, and acted as though everyone should make special allowances with her just because she was fighting with him. Well, maybe she wouldn't have so much trouble with her relatinships if she didn't get piss-drunk every week and make out with her roomies.

She always claimed that she "didn't remember" making out. Now I believed her, the first time. After that, it was obvious she was lying. Even if she wasn't, she shouldn't be drinking that much if she always loses control like that.

The cutting thing seemed really phony. She didn't actually cut herself, she just ran by one of the roommates with a knife and tears in her eyes. She didn't have a history of cutting, so I think that once again she just wanted attention.

On the vacation to Greece, all she did was complain about she would rather be there with her boyfriend. Yea, the one she was always cheating on.

I was ecstatic when she left. The new roommate was kind of lame though.

I forgot about him. There's also her boyfriend Dave, whom my friend Jaguar and I have both decided to despise. Her reminds me of Arissa's boyfriend Dario in Las Vegas. I really didn't need to see Dave on top of Frankie in that bed when he visited. Some things I don't want to know.

You ain't said nothing but a word. And did they have to title the reunion "2 punk rock 4 this?" Just remembering that little incident angers me.
