Just saw another commercial I love, so I thought I'd include it...
It's an insurance company called..HomeNational, I believe? Either way, it shows a woman getting married, and she's getting ready to throw the bouquet. "Air in G String" by Bach is playing, and all of the bridesmaid and women gather to catch the flowers. She throws it, and the women dive to get it....and then you notice the wedding is held on a cliff above water. The bride gets this look of realization on her face, and the flowers sail over the cliff. The women dive for it, and fall down along the hillside, rolling over cactuses and shit. Then a voiceover comes on and says, "People don't always have common sense. That's why we do." It cracks me up everytime.

My favorite commerical was out last summer I think. It's a Snickers commerical about a dog named Barky. This family is there and Barky is a smartass with his personality. The family ask Barky when the next water show is, and there is a huge sign up that says "Water Show at Noon."
Then, some other things that happen are Barky is taking a picture with a little girl and he knocks the hat off of her head and tells the dad, "I don't have all day, take the picture!" A lot of other things happen that are funny.
I also like the one that someone else mentioned about the man being in debt up to his eyeballs.

I really like commercials that parody the commercial genre. Like the Energizer Bunny series. This started out with a test of small bunny toys, each walking and beating a bass drum, each running on different batteries. When all the others ran out, Energizer still went, and eventually walked out of the studio. For years you would see commercials for fake products, and then 15 seconds in, the bunny would walk in beating the drum, and knock over everything.
The Geico ads now are similar. There's one with a man in a white coat and an obvious toupee, who says, "Hello, I'm Dr. John Parker. Hair loss is an all-too-common problem, but now there's good news." "The Parker Solution to hair loss?" "No. I just samed money on my car insurance by switching to Geico."
And though it's not parody, I love the Guinness ads with the two mustachioed men of the 19th century coming up with beer inventions and saying "Brilliant!"

The Croonerism Spate (explanations upon request)
Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

Those Gieco commericals are dumb, but hilarious. I love that same one with "Dr. Parker". "When I run the hair goes with me!" or "I had to wear a hat, even in the pool." the other commercials they did along that same line were good too. Like the soap opera one.
I've always like the Truth commericals. They always had such interesting facts. I did see that commercial with the "this is your brain on drugs" and the smashing of everything. Very good ones.

I don't pay attention to most commercials. Too many plain stupid ones. But I love those funny identity theft commercials. Especially the new one with the married couple in bed, andthey don't know each others names. Then their child comesi nto the room and the couple says "good morning child". lol

Those Geico commercials are funny. I haven't seen those commercials in ages though.Sailorasteroid wrote:The Geico ads now are similar. Another commercial I thought was hilarious was the latest one advertising Vim bathroom cleaner. I forget exactly how the commercial goes, but there is a little girl looking though a glass window at her mother and asks 'when will you get out?' and her mother replies, 'in a while...' I should also mention that the mother was dressed in an orange suit that inmates wear in prision, so it looks like she's in prision. Then the little girl's like 'I love you Mommy!' and she replies 'I love you too, baby!' and the camera zooms out to show the mother cleaning out the shower with the glass shower door closed. I just thought that commercial was hilarious!

I *love* that commercial. I always thought it was "ben" tho, until one day I had it on mute and the CC saved me. I also like the HomeNational commercials, but my favorite one of that series is the Bees one. This dude climbs up a ladder w/ safety goggles on and gloves, and right above him is a beehive. He says "Okay, now, get the lid on right when they fall in, okay?" and the dude on the ground, who has one of those giant trashcans, says "yeah." The ladder guy goes to pull his glove and he loses his balance and tips forward. He grabs the hive and falls into the can. The other dude bails. It's hilarious. I also am loving the "presidential" debate between Miller and Bud. "Demo-cracy." The Bud one with the donkey and the Clydesdale is great. "I said 'Get outta town!' and he said 'what's that mean?' and I said 'Its an expression, you've never heard it?' he says 'no, I haven't.' Then I left."The Starbucks energy shot drinks...the man gets into the elevator, and there's a band playing behind him.."GLEN! GLEN GLEN GLEN!". They proceed to follow him down the street, talking about how he's going to move up in life. It's hilarious to me, and I walk around singing that damn song all day.

My newest favorite commercial: The DQ one w/ the blindfold taste test. I liked the old cheescake blizzard one, too, with the dad getting beaten up by his baby. "No, no, no! This is not for babies!...That's why I'm the dad." *whack*

I don't know if this counts, but it made my list. There's this site called video detective that has almost every ad for any movie ever made, and I was watching the one for the horror movie Child's Play and I couldn't stop laughing. The link is here the music is what's so funny. I mean, this is a horror movie, and you have crappy 80s "rap" music, with the most ridiculous lyrics while it's being played. You have to see it to understand how hilarious it is.

Hee. I saw a really funny commercial that I have to add to my list. It's a Snapple commercial, where a giant robot is terrorizing the city. The robot leans down and picks up a female Snapple, looks at her with lovey-dovey music playing in the background...... Then he twists off her head and drinks her, throwing the head down on the floor. It was quite funny.

I thought of two more favorites today:
The first is the Six Flags adverts with the old man who dances and gets people on the bus to Six Flags. It's so wacky and the song is pretty catchy.
The other set I liked was the ones for Quizons subs with the singing sponge monkeys. The things they sang were just so offbeat and weird. Like this one:
We love the subs!
Subs are a dollar off!
When you bring in a coupon!
For things to eat or oil changes!
Or pony rides or for hair plugs!
Any coupon works!
Beware of paper cuts!
Eat Quiznos subs!
But you need it with the music.

I saw that the other day. Loved it.
I really like the new commerical for Lupin III now. It's the second OP with added SFX, and some changed footage. It's totally funky.
haha. that commercial kills me every time I see it! Another commercial is the after school program commercials were these teenagers are like bored to death so they do really stupid stuff. Like one girl is screaming at the top of her lungs singing to her cat yelling "SHES MY CAT! JOSIEEE MYYY CATT!" Then this boy is talking to his sock, and then all of the sudden his sock comes to life, and the socks like "I have a feeling were gonna be BEST FRIENDS"The Starbucks energy shot drinks...the man gets into the elevator, and there's a band playing behind him.."GLEN! It don't sound funny, but I laugh at stupid stuff. SOOO, yeah.
