Favorite Sci-Fi television shows

Post by KoiNoVash » Sun May 30, 2004 9:09 pm

I'm quite the lover of sci-fi television series and I was wonder what were some people's favorites. Here are some of mine:

-X-Files: I used to scare myself silly watching this show in the earlier seasons. I started to lose interest during the end, but it was still a damn good show. Fox Mulder is hot!

-Highlander (origional series, I hate Raven): The humor the series carried is what I loved the best and Methos was damn hot.

-Buffy: From start to end I loved this series ::hugs it::

-Star Trek: TNG: Okay, I haven't watched this series since it ended years ago, but I do remember really really liking it.

-Futurama: I think this should count as sci-fi. Really funny, especially the episode with life as a video game.

-Space Cases: Why did Nick cancel this show? I loved it! The alien kids were so cute! Did they ever make it back to Earth?

That's all I can think of a the moment, maybe you guys can help me think of some...

Two words:

RED DWARF!!!!

It is the most hilarious show I've ever seen. I own half the series on DVD (which kick ass). I can not wait until the movie eventually comes out.

Plus, although I've only seen the movie, I looooved Mystery Science Theatre 3000. I wish I could see the show.

Sci-fi....now we're talking my language! well, somewhat...

Star Trek: TNG, DS9 and Voyager-- I used to watch them all the time. Ever since I was about 13. My family got me into it. Everything I need to know I can find on those series. Voyager was especially my favorite. Saw the episode "Resolutions" serveral times! But I'm still mad at how Voyager ended.

However, I'm not a fan of the original series. Kirk just bugs the heck out of me. That and William Shatner kissing the hostess on Weakest Link so that he wouldn't get voted off. I was so happy when she told him to leave after that. Too bad he wasn't the first one off. They voted my precious Q off first. So not fair! *back on topic*

Futurama: I didn't know this could be included. I used to watch this show. It was so funny. Bender was just a crack up. I'm just sorry we didn't see more progress with Fry and Lela. They were cute together.

Mystery Science Theater 3000: That series was hilarious. I never got to see it during it's run, but an ex boyfriend introduced me to it. The library has copies of some of the tapes and dvds. That's how I got to view some of it. I love the short about hyigene. Also the episode Mitchell is very funny.

Star Trek (every incarnation except for Enterprise): I stopped watching this some time into the middle of Voyager. However, I still have at least three episodes (and every movie except for Insurrection and Nemesis) on tape (Financial problems and preoccupation with anime really stopped me here)

MST3K: Being Australian, I have not seen very many episodes of this show. However, it is absolutely hilarious if you're not adverse to making commentary about bad movies.

Red Dwarf: This has to have been one of the funniest things the ABC ever broadcast.

Buffy: w00t! You go girl! Go off and kick more ass wherever you end up!

Captain Power: I haven't seen the show since it was last broadcast here, but I do remember taking quite a liking to it. Sadly, Mattel stopped sponsoring it in 1990, which is quite a pity as I would have liked to see the return of Pilot.

Tokusou Sentai DekaRanger: Ok, next year's Power Rangers is actually a treat to watch. Basically the Rangers are now five highly-trained policemen and women (three men, two women), working under the guidance of Doggie Kruger. The kickass weapon of the show is a big gun that is usually in the form of a dog named Murphy. I'm sure this K-9 will be the basis for several Doctor Who and Robocop jokes in future episodes...
"That new girl? She seems kinda weird to me. And what kind of name is Buffy anyway?"
"Hey, Aphrodisia!"

If you're reading this, then you've lost the game.

i used to sometimes watch sci-fi but so far I only watch 2 programs to do with sci-fi.

buffy - has alot of action involved in the series which i can't live without!

futurama - i like the simpsons and since the creator of them made futurama i had to watch this as well.

red dwarf - find it really funny and the comedians come out with the most random things u could think of.

i don't normally watch star trek or something similar to it because there not the sort of thing which i could sit down and watch for an hour. I just think there is too much scientific words involved :|

    OK, you asked for it. 1:Star Trek: TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, AND Enterprise.
2:Doctor Who (the Fourth Doctor)
3:Earth: Final Conflict
4:Andromeda
5:Stargate: SG1
I also collect the Star Trek movies and the Star Wars movies as well. :D :D

I'm writing this Sailor Moon/Green Lantern crossover AU fic called "Emerald Sunrise". It's a hybrid of Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Romance, and Comedy. It's about Ami (Sailor Mercury) getting a new boyfriend who just happens to be a member of The Green Lantern Corps. I'm also throwing in some other characters from other animes and some old Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the late '60's early '70's. I'm also illustrating it as well. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.

5ive Days to Midnight: Exciting Sci-fi mini-series that kept me looking forward to it each day. It was so exciting.

Sailor Moon: My favorite anime/romance/sci-fi series ever.

1. Sailor Moon - My favorite sci-fi/romance anime of all time. Since this is a Sailor Moon board, everyone hear knows the plot, so I'll leave it here.

2. 5ive Days to Midnight

is a cool sci-fi show.

-5ive Days to Midnight: I wrote a very, very long essay describing the entire series. Here is a brief summary of the long essay on it I wrote.

5ive Days to Midnight is about a guy who finds a file from the future. In the file is the case of his own murder, which takes place five says from now. He has all the evidence, all the suspects, clippings and more. At first he assumes it is a joke, but as coincidences appear, he finds out that the file is, in fact, true and he has just five days to solve his own murder if he wants to stay alive.

This show was a mini series that took place in real time, as in, the file was dated five days from when the show began. Each day was a real day in real life. That show was so exciting and very underrated. Five Days to Midnight rocks. Has anyone else here seen 5 days to Midnight?

5ive Days to Midnight is a show that had me excited every day to find out what would occur next. Sailor Moon is still my favorite show of all time, so I have to mention it. Anyway, since we all watch Sailor Moon, I don't need to summarize the plot. Anyway, if anyone else here has watched 5ive Days to Midnight please tell me.

Um, I don't think Sailor Moon is sci-fi. I think it's much closer to fantasy...
"Tell my tale to those who ask... tell it truthfully, the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest... is silence..." last words of Dinobot, "Code of Hero"
"Is that a poisonous elephant in your pocket or are you happy to see me?" ~another forum
"Monster! I''''m going to collide with you indefinitely as my limbs flail wildly about!" ~NPC, Dragon Warrior VII
"I bet you were thinking how hot it would be to see Tsunade with her gates wide open, inviting you..." ~DuneMan
"To use gaming terms, Tyrannosaurus Rex was a camper--- and he pwned his prey!" ~BaronVonAwesome
"I prefer to beat my opponents the old-fashioned way: brutally!" ~Dinobot

You caught me in the middle of editing my post! I always thought mit was more fantasy, but it's labled sci-fi in a lot of places, so I thought I should include it. Hmm... but you have a good point there... Maybe I should delete it. The reason I listed the series more then once was to 1: List it and then give a sentence about it and then describe it in a summary. That is why I listed them more then once.

Basically the only Sci-Fi show I watch is Star Trek-TNG. It's the only carnation of the series I've seen so far, and I love it! Data rocks this world!! Whoot! I can remember being little and sitting down with my Dad with a big huge bowl of popcorn and watching this show.
Mr. James : Lost a satellite on liftoff today.
Dave : Cost?
Mr. James : 10 million dollars.
Dave : Result?
Mr. James : Extreme set back.
Dave : Milk?
Mr. James : Spilled.
Dave : Gonna cry about it?
Mr. James : Not even.
Dave : I''m sitting on a rather sharp tack.
Mr. James : That's gotta hurt.
Dave : Well, life's a bitch...
Mr. James : ...And then you die.
Dave : My...
Mr. James : ...oh...
Dave : ...my.

When i was young i also thought the same thing that Star Trek was the only sci-fi (which it isn't obviously). Only seen a few episodes of it but again like I said it's not my sort of thing that i could sit down and watch. The few episodes i saw was when i was young anyways so couldn't remember what ones they were.

Now that I think of it, I remember seeing some old TV Sci-Fi series growing up as a kid. (No, I'm not an old fossil...yet.) They were 1: The Time Tunnel, 2:The Invaders, 3:Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea, 4:Land of the Giants, 5:Lost In Space(The Original series, not the movie remake). If you can find them in your local public library, check them out. You won't regret it.

I'm not totally into Science Fiction, but there are a few I like. :)

Futurama - Darker, but a lot funnier than the Simpsons. Wish they didn't end it after just 5 seasons...

Red Dwarf - Ah... Red Dwarf... everytime I see the infamous polymorph-underpants scene (I will say no more) I burst out laughing!

Strange - Little known BBC series... I don't think it's aired in America... a bit like Buffy, but with demons instead of vampires. They only made 6 episodes and pilot. I call it sci-fi as they blabber loads of technical junk about the demon-hunting. ;)

God yes! The first time I watched that episode I was watching with someone who'd never seen the show before. I was laughing so hard I stopped breathing and she freaked out and was about to get help, that's how hard I was laughing.
