Actually, those are two entirely different things. When you are traumatized by something like a dog bite, you psychologically become afraid of all dogs becuase you associate the dog with pain. That's not the same as saying, "hey, some circuses treat animals bad..SO ALL CIRCUSES MUST BE BAD." That an opinion based off of a lack of research, and has nothing to do with association, like the former example does. One point that I thought was important was the "If circuses are banned, what's next ?" . I think this implies something. It doesn't mean (as you all said) that every single circus has to be banned. Only the ones who don't treat the animals well. But, in that sort of events, if one "part" is bad, all other ones seem bad. You know, it's like when you get bitten by a dog as a kid, and when you grow up, you're scared of all dogs cause they might bite you.
So what might happen is that not only the bad circuses would be banned, but all of them would be. Then, any animal-related entertainment will be banned. Or any animal-related event. It could go way too far.
Yes, it COULD go too far. But it's HIGHLY unlikely, for several reasons. One is simply that nobody takes PETA seriously, as proven by this thread. Another is that people simply don't take heed of this sort of thing going on in circuses and zoos, again proven here by the lack of knowledge a lot of the posters have about it.
