Martial Arts.

See, I'd like to learn an art, not so much for defense, but just to improve my body and make it able to do more things. And to try to get in shape.

I'd like to learn Martial Arts for that, too, but I put Self-Defense because I live near the area of Southeast Louisiana that now-two accused serial killers also lived. If I get attacked, I would like to live long enough to tell everyone here at SMU all about it.

i would probably learn ninjitsu since it's sneaky, uncommon and supposed to be very good when it comes to taking out enemies by surprise.

Well then you should learn various forms of martial arts, so that way no matter what happens you can be better prepared.

Seriously, thank you! My boyfriend says though, upon reading this, that I could kick his ass, so I would have no problem defending myself. He would only get his ass kicked because he wouldn't fight back, however.

I like Martial arts, Im taking Okinawa Kenpo, i've been taking it for like a year now and im only 8th Kyu (orange belt) and im ready to go up for 7th Kyu (yellow belt)

and im also a fan of ninjitsu and jeet kun do ^_^

lol seems to me u won't need to learn any fighting movements if he doesn't fight back.

And there is a difference between your boyfriend not fighting back and getting killed by a stranger. So fighting him would be pointless, as I would learn nothing and he wouldn't hit back for me to learn how to block coming hits. And him not hitting back would just be the equivalent of a brutal slaughter if he never fought back.

I'm afraid that she has a point here there is a huge difference in "fighting" with your boyfriend and fighting in a life or death struggle. I just hope that you never have to find out just how big the difference is.

I had heard that there was a martial arts style that involved getting in your opponet's head. so far no luck in finding it.
