Martial Arts.

Post by whitewolf05 » Mon May 17, 2004 8:34 am

There are quite a few stills of martial arts out there some of my favorite would have to be Jeet Kune Do, the style of the 8 drunken gods, and Kung Fu.

I'm writing this Sailor Moon/Green Lantern crossover AU fic called "Emerald Sunrise". It's a hybrid of Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Romance, and Comedy. It's about Ami (Sailor Mercury) getting a new boyfriend who just happens to be a member of The Green Lantern Corps. I'm also throwing in some other characters from other animes and some old Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the late '60's early '70's. I'm also illustrating it as well. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.

Bruce Lee's style is Jeet Kun Do.

I'm a fan of Tae Kwon Do, Capoeira, and Aikido. I like a lot of kicking in matrial arts and TKD relies on that a lot. Capoeira's break dancing look always fascinated me. Also has a lot of kicking. Aikido is interesting because it's so defense oriented, yet deadly.

For me, karate, plain and simple. I've been in it for four years, I'm a brown belt (third kyu) and will be going for another test next month (2nd kyu). But I also like ninjitsu, just learning how to move without making a noise would be cool.

Please use vowels.

And martial artists are influenced by each others' styles just as musical artists and visual artists are.

Does fencing count?

I love Tae Kwon Do. I took it for a year and a half and it was definity the style I loved best because I got to use alot of my flexibility for some of the really high kicks (hee, I can still count in Korean). Ninjitsu, Kung Foo and Jeet Kun Do are fun to watch though

I say karate. I used to do karate, but I gave it up before I even got to yellow belt. Now, I'm kicking myself for it. I wish I hadn't dropped it.

I used to do TKD but it wasn't the "real thing" One of those MC Dojos where you get a blackbelt after a couple of years.

I've been doing karate for almost 3 years now and am going for my 6th kyu (blue belt) in a few months.

And Sailor Wind, Bruce Lee was largely inspired by traditional kung fu. In fact, Jeet Kune Do is partly reliant on other arts.

Any form of Martial Arts is cool to me. I'd like to just learn any of it, as a way to defend myself.

Same here but I would rather learn Jeet Kune Do, The 8 Drunken Gods, or Ninjistu.
