I like both. 8) When I was growing up, we had a few cats and a German Shepard mix in our house. The cats used to drive my granddad crazy(in a good way.) He used to have a couple of Beagles for squirrel and rabbit hunting. I had a Collie-Dalmation mix named "Scruffy". She was just one of THE sweetest dogs in my home.

I'm writing this Sailor Moon/Green Lantern crossover AU fic called "Emerald Sunrise". It's a hybrid of Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Romance, and Comedy. It's about Ami (Sailor Mercury) getting a new boyfriend who just happens to be a member of The Green Lantern Corps. I'm also throwing in some other characters from other animes and some old Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the late '60's early '70's. I'm also illustrating it as well. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.

I like cats but I like dogs a little more because dogs truly love you while cats act like the world revolves around them. At least that's how it is at my house.

I love dogs! I've been around dogs since I was a baby. My grandma used to have two dogs (a mother (Sassy) and daughter (Tippy) pair) and two cats (Bobo and Marmy, short for Marmalade). I grew up liking the dogs more because the cats were very antisocial and usually hid from me. Although they were very good friends with the dogs from what I understand.

Now I have my own beagle baby (he's 7 but meh), and he is the most beautiful dog. He's so cute and friendly, every time we go to the vet everyone is fawning over him. My grandma's old pets died and she got a rescued black poodle mix. Her name is Tallula and I'm trying to hook her up with my dog Otis, but I think he prefers pillows O.o;. Tallula will usually give up her dinner to Otis, so we have to feed them in separate rooms.

But in the past months I've had a super longing for a kitty. My very screwed up (think the average Jerry Springer guest) neighbors across the street have had two dogs and 2 children taken away from them (well the dogs ran away I think), and now they decided to get a kitten. She is the sweetest thing and I play with her in my yard a lot, it's so sads when she tries to follow me into my house. ... But I can't have a cat, my brother is allergic and has really bad asthma.

I am completely, 100% a dog person. ^_^ They're adorable. I do like cats, but I much prefer to have an animal that lets me hug and squeeze them as opposed to an animal that hisses or claws you when you try.

I like them both. I like cats because they're independant and they don't always bother you for attention. However, I am severely allergic to cats (my eyes get all watery, my nose gets stuffed up really badly, and I get uncontrollable sneezing) as I have mentioned in other threads, so if I got a pet, it would be a dog. I'm less allergic to dogs than cats (I only get stuffed up every now and then). I think dutch-hound (sp?you know, the weiner dogs) and bouviers, and yellow labs are great.

Kittys!!!!!!

Ever since I got my first cat at two (and I still have him today), I've loved cats. I was the little girl who was obssesed with cats. I like cats over dogs because their cleaner. I can not stand dogs at all.

... ... Of the five cats I've owned, I've never had one that didn't bug me for attention. My littlest one, Smokie, always has to jump up on my lap and sleep on my computer desk. My other one, Ike, does that sometimes, but he usually bugs me to help him jump up on my window sill.

I've had pet cats ever since I was a baby and I own lots of cats so I love cats. I had cats and kittens ever since I was a baby and then we kept getting more. My oldest cat had died of cancer, but all my other cats are alive. When I was a baby my oldest cat would clean me. All of my cats are so sweet . I've always had pet cats and kittens, ever since I was a baby and then we got more even after that. Since we have always pet had cats, of course we love them.

That is the cutest thing I've ever heard. When I was younger, my oldest cat used to let me use him as a pillow. He'd curler up in a ball and let me rest my head on him while I read or watched T.V. He's to old to do that now though. T_T

My dog Diana loves to lick my hands and also my face because I'm the only one in the family who likes it. When she licks my lips it's like she's kissing me in the only way a dog can, since they can't pucker their lips.

Oh... my god. Not one of THOSE.
This is exactly how my friend Elise is about cats. Okay, you have this pet. You decided to get it, the animal had no say whatsoever in most cases. It is not their god-given TASK to love you, not why they were put on Earth. If they do, great. If they don't, it's not their fault that they are with you.
As for the debate... DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!
I love how dogs can be dumb and slobbery OR smart. They are quite cute and friendly.
But I also love how reserved and smart a cat is almost all of the time. They are more independent, elegant, and not their owner's puppet.
As for favorite breeds, I like the Newfoundland dog and the Ragdoll Colorpoint cat.
One of my pet peeves (not intended to be a pun) is when people call a longhair or shorthair colorpoint a siamese. A siamese is a particular breed with an incredibly light build and colorpoints.
A colorpoint is NOT a siamese, but they still have dark colors on their paws and face.
EDIT: also, cats can be quite sweet. My sewing teacher's cat, if you weren't sitting with your back totally to the chair, would jump up and lay down around the bottom back of the chair.
Plus, all this talk about cats doesn't mean I don't love dogs. I DO! They are sweet and energetic and I want one when I grow up, as well as a cat.

That's not true some cats are loyal to the owner like my kitty for an example he follows me everywhere I go, he sleeps by my side, and I'm the only one out of my family that plays with me.

Dogs are either dumb and slobbery OR smart? My dog Diana is smart (at least, she often thinks for herself in that stubborn doggie way Elkhounds do) but she's also slobbery in that she not only likes to lick my hands, but she's a messy drinker.

I'm a cat person. I love cats, my little cat is a snobby brat, but she's the sweetest thing when she wants to be. I've heard several people say cats like to scratch and hiss, and that's why they like dogs better, but when I was 10 or so, a dog scratched my gums open! No joke. I love dogs though, especially puppies, but I prefer cats.

Yeah, I agree. Dogs don't always have to be stupid and slobbery, they can be smart and slobbery ^_^

Yeah, I know, but I meant that dogs can be smart, reserved, slobbery, dumb, or a combination of them.I didn't mean that they can be either one and that's it.

Ever since I was little, I've always liked cats the best. Not sure why it turned out that way, since I had both a cat and a dog when I was young, but cats managed to come out on top. I don't have one of my own right now, but my fiance has a rambunctious young cat named Rico. He loves to gallop around (yes, he doesn't run, he gallops....it seriously sounds like a miniature horse running around ^_^) and leap high into the air. He also likes to play a game outside where he makes us catch him to bring him inside. He's so cute (and a bit crazy ^_^).
You will bow to me!
