I also love the Medieval weapons, and also just plain old Medieval Times. I love to go to Renaissance Faires, etc.

There are no weapons that I hate.

For swords, I've always preferred the Eastern curved swords (both the thick Middle Eastern sabre and the thinner Far Eastern sword like the samurai used) to the straighter kind like Excalibur or the Green Destiny from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. A rapier or epee in the hands of a master is a beautiful thing. But the heavy swing-and-poke swords are somewhat crude.

The medieval mace is somewhat cool, but seems unweildy. The spiky-ball-on-a-chain used by GoGo from Kill Bill 1 is an awesome update on that weapon, and I'd like to see it elsewhere. I also don't approve of axes like the one Gimli used in Lord of the Rings--way too much weight and no reach.

Firearms aren't something I'm very much of a connesieur on, but I definitely prefer a magazine based pistol as opposed to a revolver. The Glocks that I've seen are particularly nice.

But the one thing I love to see is the Chinese and Japanese (I've never seen it in the West) fight with long poles or spears. A proficient user can deal so many blows from so many different angles at such long range, plus it can be used for support off the ground to execute moves or dodges. And so many things fit this category--pool cues, wooden beams, metal rebars, etc--that it's easy to find one when you need it.

I always liked the samurai sword because of how they were built and the way you handle them. And I always was fascinated with ninja stars. They were always fun to make with popsicle sticks, and fun to throw at people ^_^ I miss being 8 v_v

I always wanted to get serious about handleing martial art weapons with classes and learn how to use them as self defense. For some reason, I never got into it as I got older. Fuu, makes me think how I wasted my life.

The Katana has always been gorgeous to me. I love the way it's crafted, how artistic it is.

I also have a bit ofa fascination with small daggers and the like. I love to hold them, and I wish I could learn how to fight with one. ( I don't know how useful that would be, but ya know...)

I'd like to be able to use a bow and arrow. I really like that kind of weapon, as with swords. Using a sword is intresting, same for Shurikens. I just love ninja weapons.

I'm a big fan of the bow and arrow, or any type of archery weapon. I'd love to own one, although I'd probably never use it due to my horrible aim.
I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but with the exception of the axe and shuriken (and perhaps the arrow), I dislike all bladed-weapons: particularly swords. I'm not so sure why, either: perhaps it's because I've seen it used as the protaganist's weapon in games and animes too often.

Ooh, weapons. I actually have some training in a couple (but nothing too serious):

Epee: I took a semester-long fencing class as a freshman, and it was a lot of fun. I had a slight edge - being one of only 2 lefties - so I could strike people in places that were harder to reach than normal. Of course, I also had the symmetric disadvantage as well >< I enjoyed it, and would definitely do it again if I had the money ^^;;

Archery: Wow, I sucked at this ^^;; Again, Lefty, so I had slim pickings when it came to the bows offered by the school. I don't really have good upper-arm and body strength, so getting the pull necessary to launch the thing was hard. Again, here's something I would love to do, but I need to work at it a bit harder first ^^;

The rapier or epee. I find the weapon beautiful, and I think that it is gorgeous when used. It's so elegant and regal. Plus, I love the style of it. I've fenced before, and I love it. It's defensive rather than offensive. Block until you find the opening, and counter. It's like a chess game played with swords.

As for my least favourite, it would have to be guns. Any idiot can pick up a gun and pull the trigger. And while yes, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to use a sword, you have to know what you're doing to use it effectively. Whereas with a gun, as long as you can aim, you're good to go. Though, I do have respect for sharpshooters. People who actually put time and effort into it, and use the weapon elegantly.

Mine are the katana, the sai, and the bow and arrow. If I ever had the opportunity to learn to use them, I would start with the katana, because that is my number one most favorite weapon in the universe. I would use the sai as a back up weapon, and the bow and arrow as a long distance weapon. One thing I would really like to learn to do is to shoot a bow and arrow from horse back, like the samurai did.

I've been learning the Sai for about three years now, and am pretty good at it. I'm the only person in my Karate association to learn it, so I'd have to say that it's my favorite. If anyone wants to learn it, I have some advice, build up the strength of your wrists because those things can be very heavey.

I always liked swords that have decorated hilts or have a unique design. I also love swords in which the blade is made completely out of fire (from fantasy books, of course =D) The only weapon I hate would have to be axes. They're just...I dunno...ugly.

Some of my favorite weapons are 1: The katana 2 shurikens 3: The bow and arrow 4: The Klingon bat'leth 5: The .Smith&Wesson Model29E .44 Magnum (OK, so I watched a few "Dirty Harry" movies.) And the M18 34 mini turret gun. :twisted:

I'm also throwing in some other characters from other animes and some old Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the late '60's early '70's. I'm also illustrating it as well. :oops: Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.

I always liked whips, bow and arrows and nunchakus. And that sword Ivy Valentine from Soul Calibur has. (it can become a chain whip) That's probably the coolest weapon I've ever seen. :) I heard there is a sword similar to it in real life too.

I don't really hate any weapons but I'm not crazy about axes.

The worst weason would probably be nulcear weapons. I think countries should find another way to resolve problems. I've always wanted to go to Japan, more specifically the city of Hiroshima, but my Japanese friends tell me that it's still not safe to go there, 60+ years after the US nuked it. Apparently, cancer cases in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki areas is higher than anywhere else in Japan. Nuclear weapons are far too destructive in my opinion.

Nuclear weapons lack the sexiness and the honor of the hand-to-hand weapons previously discussed. But they are a magnificently effective detterent. Look at India and Pakistan--since both of them acquired nuclear weapons, they've almost been forced into a kind of peace, and I shudder to think how the Cold War would have happened without nuclear warheads on ICBMs. They're also a beautiful feat of science. I don't presume to know everything about nuclear physics, but to me the concept of a split atom is like the poetry of the universe.

I also hate Nuclear Weapons...

1. WAY too destructive
2. Destroys whole environment, and can effect those not even in the blast radius, even after decades.
3. Kills almost everything withen a certain radius.
4. Contaminates areas nowhere near the bomb.
