Lindsay Lohan in "Mean Girls"

Post by Miyamoto » Tue May 11, 2004 8:04 am

What do you guys think of this movie? I saw it over the weekend and I absolutely LOVED it! ^_^ It was soo funny. (Yes I'm a guy and I enjoy(ed) chick flicks.) I think Lindsay is really pretty and really talented. I think I knew who she was before I saw Mean Girls, but now she's older and well.. you know. :D :D

Comments? :D:D

I actually would like to see this one, becuase that's 100% about how most women/girls act. We're all catty, envious/jealous, moody, back-stabbing bitches (At least, we've all acted that way at one point or another), and it looks like it has some good humor in it. I suppose another reason would be that I'd be living vicariously through Lindsey, while she gets back at all the mean girl XD

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

This is the type of movie I avoid, so I didn't see it. My boyfriend and I went to see Van Helsing instead.

I saw Mean Girls on Saturday, and absolutely loved it myself. Trust me, Tiff: you'll get even the slightest bit of something out of this flick.

do you REALLY think that TINA FEY, the Head Writer on Saturday Night Live would write a chick flick? Doubtful. THis is definatly a comedy. Reinforced by the fact that:
Amy Polehar and Ana Gayster are in this movie.

I really want to see Mean Girls. Hell, anything produced by SNL is worth seeing. (edit) IMO (/edit)

chick flicks tend to have a lot of romance, sappy sad scenes, and friendships and things to which girls can relate in it. It's usually got some sort of sweet "awww" ending or an ending that makes you cry.

Mean Girls does NOT look anything like a chick flick...I agree about it being a comedy. It's something i'd like to rent and check out.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I think she said 6th Sense. If not, then I think she's missing one somewhere along the way...

I also want to see this movie. It looks great!

I'm gonna have to pass on this one. I was never a fan of movies featuring glamorized minors, and the previews I've seen for this movie hardly make it seem like it would be worth my $9. IMO, it just seems like an excuse to exploit Lindsey and her sudden "blossoming" into adulthood.

Too bad I have to wait a month for it to come out here. Hasn't the Matrix Revolutions policy become standardized yet?

Umm..I don't belive I ever said I thought it was a chick flick. I just said it is the type of movie I try to avoid, which does include chick flicks, but also, as Starscream-san said, "glamorized minor" movies (also known as teen flicks), which is what this one fell under. That is another genre I avoid, because I find no interest in it whatsoever.

And arigato, Tiff-san, for helping to clear this up.

I was finding myself laughing alot when I saw this movie. It was great because I could relate to it from my high school. Not exactly the same, but something you know you would see at school.

My mom hated it though, maybe it's her generation or maybe she doesn't like Lindsay Lohan. She is very pretty and a great actor ^_^ And I loved her Drama Queen song >_>

I liked her better in her Mathmatics shirt than her slutty clothes.

I feel really embarassed to admit this, but I do want to see the movie. Nobody knows this, but I like Lindsay Lohan. But in the past (in real life, not online), I always wrote off those types of movies as stupid, and now I'm afraid to admit that my views have changed.

See it. It's great. I'm a 20 year old guy and I enjoyed it. It made me become a Lindsay fan. ^_^ I'm also borrowing the Freaky Friday DVD from a friend of mine... ^_^

I think it looks absolutely hilarious, but I'm not going to go spend $9 at the theater for it when it's something that'll probably be just as hilarious on the small screen. I *did* spend $9 to see Van Helsing, tho, and *that* was a waste of money. Anyway, I'll wait until it comes to premium cable or out to rent, then I'll definitely watch it. Lindsay Lohan is okay, I guess. I didn't like The Parent Trap, and I refuse to see Freaky Friday (having read the book), but not because of her.

I'm a 20 year old guy too and I love Lindsay Lohan. Her performance in Freaky Friday was one of the best teenage performances ever. Plus that movie had some great revenge scenes.
