You know what? I'm ending the Jerry Springer discussion. It has nothing to do with Dr. Phil, and apparently my point isn't coming across.

So get back on topic.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

WATCH DR. PHIL TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's going to be a great episode. There's no audience at all, and there's six married couples on the verge of divorce. Dr. Phil is going to analyze each of them and tell who should stick together and who should go with the divorce.

I think that the Dr. Phil show is terrible, mostly because of Dr. Phil himself. From reports I've read, he's very short and mean to people backstage, and having watched many episodes, I feel that his methods are less-than-desirable, and do not often achieve the desired results. I mean, sometimes he has people on the show who have obvious mental issues, which probably need medication or intense therapy, and he's like "you need to get over this, and stop! And act this way! You need to be stronger!" when. . . um. . . hello, obvious mental disorder. *shakes my head* I think he thinks he knows everything. . . which he obviously doesn't, sometimes. And a lot of people say afterword that he was mean, pompous, and lacked empathy (which is soooo so so important for a psychologist or therapist to have).

I think the appeal is that people like to see other people get told off, especially for familiar problems.

He really only has the time of the show's duration, and usually he has more than one group of guests on the show. He doesn't pity people or let them pity themselves, which I admire in people.

He does arrange for his guests to get therapy, and gives them resources beyond just what's on camera, so it's not just him yelling at them and saying, "Okay, back on the plane!"

My dad calls me "Dr. Phyllis" because I like the show so much. @_@;
