Does anyone here watch Dr. Phil? I personally love it. It's much better than all the other talk shows I've seen. I especially like the episodes with the Dr. Phil family, which is this family that has all kinds of problems and keep reappearing on the show. Today's episode was really interesting because the two daughters were yelling and crying at the dad for intiminating them and getting in their face all the time, and then taking away the phone and yelling at them even more when they're just trying to call their mom. And on the show, Marty (the dad) didn't really have a case and just kept making up excuses to defend himself, but Dr. Phil just got on his case and it was really great. I could Dr. Phil was pissed after that episode because he's getting sick of dealing with Marty all the time and issues with that particular family just get worse and worse.

I don't watch Dr. Phil a whole lot, but I've seen a few episodes. I rather enjoy people who are up front and honest about things. It's cool to see someone just tell it like it is. Makes me respect them more that way. I can really relate to him better.

My friends have thought about puting my friend Clair on that show. She's just got issues in general. Loser boyfriend who cheats and mooches off her. She refuses to leave him, but would cheat in a heartbeat. We'd love to take her to Dr. Phil and have him tell her to knock it off. We're just so sick and tired of trying to be nice about things. Maybe she'll wake up and knock off the drug usage too.

*winces* I really, REALLY don't like that show. No offense to people who do. My mom and my sister watch it all the time and I'm really sick of it. It's terrible how people have to go on TV just to solve their problems!

They go on TV because

1) I guess they want to be seen on TV. Possibility.
2) Dr. Phil is like the top psychologist in the nation.

They put this stuff on TV so the viewers who watch it can learn from it if they are experiencing simular problems.

OMG.. Dr. Phil is made fun of so bad at sites such as http://www.ebaumsworld.com where people have made soundboards of him. They've used those soundboards to make prank phone calls.. Some of them are so funny.... And yeah... I argree with Artemis. I dislike that show as well... Doesn't interest me. Like he/she said, no offense to anyone here who likes it.

Ever since that show came on some people I know keep calling me Dr. Phil. I'm notorious for "telling it like it is" apparently. I keep telling others what their problems are and how to fix them and I don't pussyfoot around the issue… I always get the stupid nicknames! >_<*

I used to watch the show until reruns of Angel started airing on TNT at the same time (4:00 central). ^_^

I can't give a definite opinion, since I don't watch the show that much due to being in classes, but I can say that I agree with a lot of what he says, from what I have been able to watch. He seems like a good guy.

Dr Phil is okay I guess, but I like more action packed shows like Jerry Springer. Dr Phil just doesn't have that hilarious whackiness Springer had.

I don't like Dr. Phil. Me and my dad make fun of him all the time. "Get over it!", we always say in a mimicking voice.

Actually, we don't know what he's really like since we never watch the show.. so, uh... yeah.

During the Jerry Springer Show, sometimes they'll ask you if you have any story ideas, to call them up at their number they list. Then, there's that movie they made, "The Ringmaster". Why would a real talk show make a movie about their show? Proof enough?

1) The issues delt with on that show are just extreme things like "My gay partner is cheating on me by having an affair with my mother" or "Huge red buttocks babboons and the women who love them". I know there may be people out there who are really like that, but if it's suppose to be a talk show, you're suppose to get something out of it or learn from it. Jerry Springer is mainly just for entertainment purposes.

2) If you watch the show enough, you will notice that the same guests appear multiple times, have different names, and have issues that are completely irrelevant to each other. There would be this one guest who is completely gay in one episode and completely straight in another.

Have you ever WATCHED some of the other talk shows? Half the time Maury Povich and Jenny Jones have nothing but "my underage partner cheated on me and now I don't know the father of my baby". I get nothing from that. It's simply pure entertainment. So does that make all of the other talk shows fake, too?

No, considering the fact that I have seen good episodes from both shows. Don't let just a handfull of lewd episodes confuse you. Jerry Springer has nothing but extreme episodes full of fist fighting and whatnot. And unlike other talk shows, you can tell Jerry Springer's episodes are scripted and poorly at that.

Yes, and back when Jerry Springer FIRST came out, I saw good episodes of that. As I said before...Jerry Springer USED to be an actual, decent talk show. Then it became trash. Nothing's "fooling me", dear...I KNOW it's fake NOW, as in, the episodes that air now and have been for probably the last 5 years.
