Bad hair day

Post by RoastedTwinkies » Sat Mar 27, 2004 2:13 pm

Ok, fess up everyone! What is the worst thing you've ever done with your hair?

I'll start with myself. One time about five years back, I was lighting a candle (when I had super long hair) since I didn't have it tied back, it somehow managed to dangle into it and I didn't notice until it was too late. MY HAIR CAUGHT ON FIRE!! Fortunately, I managed to douse it out by turning on the tap in the kitchen and putting my entre head under it and I did not suffer any severe burns, believe it or not. The aftermath? I didn't need a major haircut. I just simply trimmed the singed parts at home.

Another time (three years ago) which was not nearly as scary was when I decided to cut it short for the first time. I wanted to cut it into a shag type thing (so I could headbang as I play guitar, lol) and the stylist I had at the time did not like rock music or any of that type of good stuff, completely botched it. See, I have a heart shaped face, which means my chin is very, very narrow. So, when your face is structured like mine, you want some length at the nap area, so that attention isn't focused on your chin. The stylist did the complete opposite of what I wanted. It was just awful X__X

Since then, I've been cutting my own hair and a get a friend to tidy anything up if necessary.

EDIT: I forgot to mention another one. six years ago, this guy at school had natural strawberry blond hair. It was really nice. One day he decided to dye it brown. It looked great, but then within days, he decided to dye it bright blonde and when he went to do that, his hair turned white. He had to go to school like that before he got it fixed. Everyone made fun of him, and I felt so sorry for him.

When I was about seven, I got so ticked off at my bangs that I cut them myself. I shall never do that again.

And there was one time that my hair got so tangled at camp that two girls decided to brush it for me. It hurt so badly that I had to run out of the tent, but they still chased me around. O.o

I used to get gum stuck in my hair CONSTANTLY. Once, in second grade, it got stuck really badly, and I had waist-length hair, so it was a mess. My mother had to cut it to my shoulders, and we were both sobbing hysterically.

In 11th grade, I wanted to get my hair highlighted. I have really dark hair, so I wanted it to be like auburn highlights instead of blonde, becuase I think blonde highlights in dark hair looks hideous. The stupid lady made them blonde, an dit COMPLETELY didn't fit. It took about half a year for it to finally blend in.

Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Hmm when I was younger I cut my bangs to my scalp. Enough said.

But duing my oral presentation (the one where the teacher really hurt me? that one from the anime in school topic) I did my hair in odangoes. Now I didn't think it was TOO bad except for the fact I had enough bobby pins in my hair to make a small cannonball. My friend's reactions went something like this with codenames:
Lobster: You look completely moronic.
Zertec: AAGGHH! THE APOCOLYPSE HAS COME! *runs down the hall*

Now that my hair is shoulderlength (5 inches off what it originally was) I can't do that anymore.

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

I, being a male, do not care about my hair other than washing it, combing it, and cutting it. Simplicity is the key to not looking hideous.
He's got to make his own mistakes
and learn to mend the mess he makes
He's old enough to know what's right
and young enough not to choose it
He's noble enough to win the world
but weak enough to lose it - Rush - "New World Man"

During the summer before school, I wanted to do something funky with my hair. I got a hairstylist who I THOUGHT understood my directions. "PERMANENT red streaks in the front." The highlights were temporary despite my clear directions for permanent. I guess she figured that I didn't REALLY want permanent. She layered my hair, which I thought would look good, but with wavy hair... ugh, no.

Last October, I dyed my hair black with a 30-shampoo dye for my Meilin cosplay. It was great for the con, but after a month or so the black wore out and turned into a bizarre shade of green. It stayed that way until late January, but even now, when the light shines on it just right, the shine is bright green. With my awful layering job, my hair resembled a Christmas tree for months. X_X

I've had lots of bad hair days ^_^

One of the worst times were bleeching it blonde. But my mom wouldn't let me bleech my WHOLE head, only the top part. So, to help visualize this, I put on a hat and I look like I have all brown hair. Under the had, a horrible shade of blonde. Good this was it never was orange *phew* But going to school the next day was embarrasing. I could feel the eyes staring at me. I wish I had a hat those days.

Then, when I got my hair cut short again, less than an inch ling for each strand, I had some remaining blonde in my hair. It looked pretty good, except near the front, there was a circle of no blond -_- It looked horrible and my mom wouldn't color the one spot. Few months pass, I get it cut, no more blonde.

And recently, I have been growing out my hair. Almost a year because I started when last summer started. It isn't that bad now, but when I started to grow it out, it looked horendous! First, my hair became EXTREMLY wavy/curly when I had my hair short for 2-3 years. So, at the end of summer, it looked short because it was all curly. But I got bored when I was home alone, and straitened it with my moms "expensive" straitener ^^; It went almost past my eyes, and it was so shiny O_O But the rest of my hair was shorter than the front. It looked odd and I wasn't able to straiten it every day. Summer went to early August when I got it cut >< I hate my mom for that. The day we got our student ID pictures too. So it got extremely shortened and I hated it. The camera man also took a bad picture. I have to look at that picture EVERY DAY. -_- Burn it I must.

But now my hair isn't too bad. I have bonde(darkest blonde) and red streaks in my hair. I love it.
