Do you guys play neopets? I do. My username's rasberry_lemonlade. If you guys do play, what are your usernames?

Boy hasn't inflation gone up recently. In my day (god I sound old) Starry Paintbrushes were called Paint Brush of the Stars, and they were only 24,000, not 180,000. Inflation has gone up a lot, hasn't it?

Inflation's gone up a LOT...I remember when I could get a Christmas Paint Brush for only 8,000 NP...*sigh*
I have two other accounts, but rasberry_lemonlade is my newest one (that's why I put it on there.) My other accounts are:

My best one is tiger_queen_of_2001. I've been playing on that one for about 2 years, and all of my pets are painted and have petpets. Only problem-no neomail. Meh. Oh well, I turn 13 this May.
I have the greatest guild on PrincessSirius, it's called The Neopets Safe. I was in that guild on a different account, but I lost the password and I don't know what email I put on for it. So I've been a member for about a year, and it's just great.

I want to get a red Usul plushie and paint her to match. I did paint my Aisha (Saffiku64) blue to match the Aisha plushie I got two years ago

I really miss those free days...does anyone remember the original Kiko Match? Heck, you could get like 500 and I personally think it was a lot more fun than Kiko Match II. What do you guys think?

ooh, you guys make me feel so old. I played Neopets back before they even HAD paintbrushes. You know, back when Bruce wasn't a penguin and the faeries didn't have faces. I don't play it anymore, and haven't played for about 3 years. Things got rediculous and I got too old, kind of. I think, actually, what it was was the site got too popular and everything just went up in price. Now the things too commercial, and I have no desire to play anymore.

Hmm...eons ago I had a Neopet, but after a few weeks, I just abandoned it. Handheld and online pets are a big pain-in-the-butt, and I'm not the responsible type anyway.

Yeah, maybe what I did was cruel, but of course, there is a section at neopets.com where you can take in poor lil' abandoned critters.

Ressurecting an old topic...

I have an account on Neopets that I am planning on deleting. I have 218,876 neopoints, a few plushies, and two or three petpets (not the super valuble kind) on hand that I'd like to give to someone. If there is anyone here on SMU that is active on Neopets now, I'd be happy to friend you and send you the stuff. No sense in letting it go to waste. ^_^

I'm kind of afraid to join in fear of addiction and going through a withdrawal when I'm not around it. Um...do you guys ever go through any of that, or is all the craze just talk?

There are some people who get addicted. The amount of people who set up scams to steal accounts are proof enough of that. I never really got it though, and I've been an on-and-off player for over three years.

Some of the games are fun, but most people are only good at a few. Playing them over and over, along with daily visits to the freebie spots can get really repetitive. The high-score tables are so ridiculous now that the only way to get on most of them is to cheat.

I suppose my biggest problem is that I think there are too many people. The support staff is way too small for a community of that size, and the flaws in the account freezing system are major.

Overall, I can see why a lot of people like it, but I just don't find any enjoyment in it anymore.

Several years ago when I was in middle school (god that's like what, 7, 8 years?), I was obsessed with Neopets. I had two Blumaroos, Neo_Senshi(I think?) and UranusSenshi. I also had a Grundo when they were doing that massive adoption thing, and...one of those frogs.
You know, the cute ones.
/me shrugs

I wasn't necessarily forced to stop playing it, but one day I signed on to find my entire bank account depleted, my favorite pet (The male Blumaroo) disowned in the pound thing, and loads of my items gone.

That wasn't nice, man.
