That old Mario show
Well we all knew it would come up sooner or later.
I really did like this show. Not the live action (That was creepy) but the cartoon. I only watched a few episodes, but my favorite episode was that one where Bowser kidnapped Princess Peach and Mario and Luigi had to fight in the colleseum with the lion. I don't remember the name, the last time I watched it was about three years ago.
Favorite episodes, comments, etc?

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....
Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!
I vaguely remember watching it, but not enough to recall any individual episode...

Oh wow, I loved that show! My little brother and I used to get up at seven in the morning on Saturday when we were little to watch it.
The only specific show I remember is when bowser opened up an evil fast food joint and Mario got fat and lazy from eating too many burgers, but Luigi only ate chicken, so he grew wings and was able to save everyone. Hmmmm.... looking back, thats kind of weird, but oh well. Mainly We just thought it was awesome to watch all of our favorite video game characters going on adventures and such.

Peter: Hey Brian, look, my alpha-bits are spelling out a message from another world. It says "OOOOO".
Brian: Peter, those are cheerios.

There are still plenty of Mario tapes at MY local blockbuster, anyone who wants to see them should check their local video store.
The reality ones were...odd...they get points for costumes and accents, but still. I have this "issue" with shows that have the audience laughing.
Did anyone else here ever "Do the Mario" in front of their TV in time with Mario? I sure have.

I used to watch this cartoon back in the good old days. Somewhere on tape, I have an episode taped. It even featured the preview to that weeks Legend of Zelda episode.

I saw every show of all three series made. ^_^ I own one VHS of the first one with one LA episode followed by three animated ones. I can't wait for the series DVD box to come out this spring (if I remember correctly). ^.^

I loved the Mario cartoons. They were so corny, yet so funny. And I loved theu sage of actual Mario music and sound effects in the series: made it feel more like the games. Too bad the Sonic series didn't end up as good, despite being made by virtually the same people (DiC, back at a time where they didn't horribly dub anime..ah, the good old days).

I've always liked Zelda more than Mario, but I still loved Mario, nonetheless. My favorite of the Mario cartoons was the Super Mario Bros. 3 show because that was my fav Mario game at the time. It was aired on The Family Channel every Sunday morning and because I had to go to church during the time it was aired, I had to tape it every week. Sadly, I can't find any of the old episodes I taped, unless I taped over them or something. v.v One thing I still don't understand is what was the point of the Super Mario All-Stars cartoon? They basically took some random episodes of the Super Mario Bros. Supershow (the animated episodes) and a random episode of Super Mario World and mixed them both in one show to have them playing back-to-back to each other, but what was the point of it? They didn't produce any new episodes of either show for it and they just recycled all the older episodes, so why?

My god Bob you still remember that?
The TV I would watch my VHS in was the basement, and even though our basement is large I still somehow managed to crash into lots of walls. I loved that song.
Maybe, Bob, do you still remember it because it's creepily catchy?

My younger brother (who is a Nintendo Freak) used to watch it when it came on in syndication wherever it was airing at. I saw a couple of episodes, but I didn't pay enough attention to what I was watching to remember anything specific. My brother also taped the Super Mario Brothers Live Action movie, and I saw that and it now ranks on my list of Most Fucked Up Movies Ever.

Heh, me and one of my housemates just watched the live action movie again last weekend. It somehow came up when we were talking about something, so we put it in for shits and giggles.
And like Bob, I can also do the Mario, and did the Mario through elementary school. ^_^

Do you mean actually IN elementry school where there was a chance of getting in trouble, or while you were in the age range of elementry school?MarioKnight wrote: And like Bob, I can also do the Mario, and did the Mario through elementary school. ^_^

No no, what I meant was did you do the Mario in your elementry school and get sent to the principal's office trying to explain why you were dancing in the middle of class, in front of you TV within the age range of Elementry school (I say about 6-12) or both?MarioKnight wrote:Yes. ^_^;;;;;;Celexa wrote:Do you mean actually IN elementry school where there was a chance of getting in trouble, or while you were in the age range of elementry school?MarioKnight wrote: And like Bob, I can also do the Mario, and did the Mario through elementary school. ^_^

Oh yes, my favorite show of all time in 2nd grade. You can still download episodes off of Kazaa Lite. I remember the episodes from the original series were really corny though because instead of the episodes being based off the actual game, they did themes. For example, they had a Star Wars themed episode where Koopa was suppose to be Darth Vader, and they also had other themes like Koopa the Kid, Koopazilla, etc.
The dialog cracks me up though, like how Koopa calls Mario and Luigi "Mozzerella Morons".
