What Do You LIKE About Your Age?
Okay, this is a counter-topic to the one about complaining about adulthood, and more general too. I'm also not asking about specific ages, but just what do you like about being in the age section (or specific age, if you wish) that you are?
As for me, I like being 18 because I can vote! I don't know anything else right now to specifically add, but I do believe that since one can't change one's age, one should find good things about it, since life's never going to be perfect no matter WHAT age one is!

I'm proud to be 19, as I am far better off than 90% of anime characters who are also 19, especially the guys in harem anime. Well, SOME of them (Love Hina's Keitaro for one). Hee hee, I'm in college and they aren''t!

I'm 21. I can drink. I live on my own. I don't have to answer to anybody. I'm in college. I'm on the verge of being a full-fledged teacher.
That's about it.

Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Why must I put a subject?
I like being thirteen. It's kind of the age where everyone notices that you aren't just a kid that can't be trusted. They allow you to do more things, but they also give you more responsibilites. And in my opinion, the privleliges are worth the responsibitlites.
I also enjoy being in Grade Eight. I am doing much better in school than I did last year (Getting a 94% in History, and getting the only 100% in the entire division for Geography), and it's made my life better. Feeling more acomplished makes me just feel happier in general.
Another perk is that I can see MORE MOVIES! WHOOT! And I don't need parental supervision either.
Granted, being thirteen also means that my friends have gone all hormonal and depressed on me, but that's ok. I still enjoy it anyways

I like being 14 because not much can happen to you, and you don't need to worry about much.
Except getting good grades, not having any missing work, or pissing off my parents because they go insane if I get a B... ugh. *stops self before I start ranting*

I certainly enjoy being fifteen. This is the first year you are able to take an AP course at my school (AP World History, best class ever, and luckily I also have a great teacher), and you get your first taste of freedom- and its consequences. Nobody is making you spend two hours a night outlining in that class, but come exam time its your own ass, and in theory a year wasted if you don't even qualify for the college credit, but anyways.
I like this age because right now your at a point where you can form an actual organized study group and get a lot of work done, but you can still goof off for 1 of the three hours your group's supposed to be studying and not regret it. It's also neat to see your parents freak out with their not-so-internal struggle about the loomings of driving lessons. There's still seven months until I get my permit, but I now know four seperate ways to get just about anywhere thanks to contiuous driving lectures every time I step near anything with a wheel.
But the best part is that I now look good. With getting contacts and learning to style my once out of control hair, I look so much better than I did even a year ago. Growing a few inches while staying the same weight doesnt hurt either: 4'6'' and 90 lb=chipmunk cheeks, 5'0'' and 90 lb=niiiice. (crap that was long!)

I really like being 14 because while I'm not too young to understand most things, I don't have to take responsibility for them quite yet. That's one thing I worry about. Call me crazy, but I do! Plus my scedule is pretty much set, so I don't have to worry too much about emergencies. It's just...perfect for me right now.
Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....
Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

I love being 17, and almost 18 (b-day is March 27). Know why? Because I'm a senior in high school. All my classes are easy. I don't pay for shit, except gas. And the very best reason: Cause I got my birthday/graduation present today. A new car! *joygasms, dies*

I like being 19. I can vote, drive cars, see R rated movies, and play the lottery. I'm in college and I have only 8 years of learning how to be an elementary EAL (English as Another Language) teacher left. ^^

Well, 16 going on to 17 is pretty neat. I mean, just about everything I have is free for me ^_^
Don't have to worry about bills, jobless at the moment, so plenty of free time.
I use the excuse "I'm growing and all my body parts hurt" when I feel really sleepy (or when I actually AM acheing all over), and get to stay home from 1st hour
I'm still innocent enough to use the fake sick thing when I don't want to go to school.
My parents have 90% trust in me, the other 10% is because they just found out about my evil side XD
Hmm, what else is good...well, not having to worry about a "relationship" yet. But it seems to be creeping up >_> <_<
I'm at the age where it is still considered "Ok" and on the verge of "What a weirdo" to watching cartoons all the time.
I can (in a couple months) see R rated movies, although movies are sucking right now. It is just the fact that I CAN see them.
Right now, I am just about older than all the kids in my grade, and a lot of Juniors too
It's cool to be older ^_^
The last thing I can think is I look way younger than my age. And I hope it stays when I get in my 30's, and I will look like I'm in my 20's
I hope I am always asked "Do you want a kiddie menu" at restraunts. I have learned to cope with this, and make a joke out of it. Come on, you get CRAYONS!

I agree. I cried when I turned 16. Now I'm legal in my state of Indiana. Dammit. I'm not "innocent" anymore!Jeff wrote:I like being 15 because I'm sexy. I'm not all old and stuff, so I don't have to worry about dying/aging. My sex appeal is based on my "innocence". It's going to suck being old. I'm probably going to lose it like Nehelenia.
At least I have a permit to drive. Whee. Growing up doesn't sound like any fun.

Beware young people ^^;;
I'm happy to be 20/almost 21 cause I'm still sexy (fat, yeah, but sexy fat nonetheless dammit, lol!) AND I can have sex. Yeah, that's weird to think of it this way, but if I had been younger I couldn't have been as free as I wanted on that matter (heck, I started when I was of age and always thanked destiny to have met my ten-years-older-than-me boyfriend at that age! ) .
I can also work. Work frees you when you take care of the money.
I can do many things that I couldn't when I was younger, but I don't have to so I just plainly don't cause I don't want to! Like, having the driving license! Everyone is crazy about it, but I'm giving myself a year or something, till I need it for work.
And I can travel when I get some money! Couldn't have been to the US if I hadn't been over 18 the first time. Long live passports! I love my age! Being 20 rocks ^^

22 years old, and the most-asked question about yours truly in public:
"How old are you? You look like you're 15, 16, 17, etc."
"How old are you? You look like you're 15, 16, 17, etc."
"After all these years, you know it's not about control. It's about trying to do everything I can. And for you, it's about setting an example. Everyone looks up to you. They listen to you. If you tell them to fight, they'll fight. But they need to be inspired, and let's face it, 'Superman'...the last time you really inspired anyone... was when you were dead." -- Batman, to Superman, Infinite Crisis, issue 1
I'm 23, and what I like about my age I'm not "old" (although many of you here will probably disagree w/ me here! LOL). I'm still at a point where people tell me "you're still young, got plenty of time, no need to make any major life decisions just yet, no need to settle down, etc. etc."
I'm old enough to have been through a lot and have some life experience, yet young enough not to be jaded and set in my ways.
I can be on my own but still explore and try new things.

Err, everyone who's thinking they're "old" on this forum...
1) My definition of "old" is the legal one--retirement age.
2) That's not a bad thing in my mind, so even if there was a 65+ person on this forum, they're not too old, they're just old, with all the good and bad things that come with it.
