Friday the 13th

Post by Rainbow » Fri Feb 13, 2004 8:25 am

No, not the movie, the much-maligned day. Do you believe the superstition? Are you okay about the number 13 in general but are afraid of the number when it combines with Friday? Do you fear 13 ANY time?

Personally, I don't believe the superstition. I like the number 13 just because OTHER people call it unlucky, just to be weird on purpose. And Friday means the end of the school-week, so that's lucky for me too!

Well, I stayed up until 3:30 A.M. today typing up a Literature paper for school, and I have an exam in 45 minutes on Criminal Justice. PLUS I have to go to the computer labs at school to prepare myself for my Computer and Information Science exam on Tuesday, PLUS I have to start working on my 5-page Modern Japan paper that is due on Wednesday.

So, yeah, I guess I do believe in the unluckiness of Friday the 13th.

I don't believe in Friday the 13th, but I do tend to avoid looking at the number 13 as often as I can. ^^;; My mother has a doctor's appointment today, so hopefully everything will go well and she won't be cursed by Friday the 13th...

LOL that's not called "unluckiness" that's called a college workload. ^_~

And no, I don't really believe in that superstition that everything bad is going to happen to you. I do believe that sometimes people do act weirder on that day, though

Usually I have pretty unlucky days on Friday the 13th, but most of this week has been unlucky for me so far, so maybe today will be an awesome day for me.

...hmm...no, I can't say I do belive in the Friday the 13th superstition. However, I did have 2 tests this morning, one right behind the other. I think it might be just a coincedence, though.

I don't believe either in the Friday the 13th superstition, or any other, for that matter (i.e., breaking a mirror, walking under a ladder, etc.) Personally, I don't believe in "luck", per se, especially the "bad" kind; unless it's something beyond your control (four assignments due the same week), luck is whatever you make of the choices you have at hand, and how you chose to deal with them.

But that's just me ^^;

I believe that more can happen on this day, but not the "bad luck" superstition. It's like a full-moon. Things are different on Friday the 13th, but not necessarily bad.

Well, nothing bad has happened to me so far, so I can't say I fear Friday the 13th. I don't really believe in superstitions per se, but you may have a time where many good things or bad things are facing you in a certain period.

Well, I believe in the bad luck....

...Why?

-.- Well, today my boyfriend brokeup with me and said he was already dating someone else, I broke my nose today, my S.S. teacher bitch slapped me, and I was hit really hard on the hand by a brick by a street gang.

Friday the 13th.

It's never really caused me any trouble. If anything, it's been one of my luckier days or just a day were nothing bad happened. For some reason it just never really seemed to affect me. When I was in school, I used to look forward to it because I liked to see what would happened that day that would set it apart from other days. I was so annoyed with it being called an unlucky day, that I just dubbed it my lucky day.

Usually bad things happen to me on Friday the 13th.

The last one I can remember was that I was running barefoot outside and I stepped on a broken glass. It went right into my foot, and I had to get stitches. That really hurt.

Today, I forgot it was Friday the 13th, and nothing bad happened to me...yet. I guess if you don't really think about it, nothing bad happens. But, eh, what do I know.

Friday the 13th was never an unlucky or unusual day for me. I do know that a lot of people act differently on this day. The power of the mind can do some weird things, and people who convince themselves that this day is inherently unlucky will be much more likely to have bad luck. So do as the song says, don't worry, be happy! (I'm well aware of how lame that was, thank you.)

I reckon that the bad luck of Friday the 13th is all psychological the number 13 youget told is unlucky Friday the 13th is said to be even more unlucky hence forth you will think you will have bad luck therefore you will.

I don't belive in bad luck that's why I tend to get a black cat one day and teach the thing to walk across people

What does it mean to "bitch slap" someone? And if your teacher hit you, he or she should be fired. Corporal punishment isn't allowed in school anymore, so far as I know.

The hell it isn't. Schools are allowed to spank and paddle so long as they have parental consent at the beginning of the year or at the time of the paddling. They spank kids all the time at the Pre-k where I intern

o_O; where the hell do you live where you're getting hit by bricks thrown by street gangs?

Really? Maybe it depends on the region of the country...I've sure never seen it in all the time I've been in school. I don't like to tell where I live, but all I'll say is I don't live anywhere near Texas, so schools might be a bit different there, maybe?

Okay, it's the end of the day...it's been pretty good, actually! The only REALLY bad thing was that I didn't have my key for getting in the house, but luckily the dogs weren't there and needing to go out, and my dad was in town and he got me in. (he travels a lot during the day) And the bad luck happened earlier in the week because I forgot to put the key in my backpack, so it was LUCKY today because he might not've been in town on a different day.

By the way, to not confuse anyone, my parents have two houses but they're still married (that arrangment helps them get along better, I think). So the dogs were at my dad's house, and the house I got locked out of was my mom's.

A VERY lucky thing...Diana (the mean dog) actually let me roll her over a few times this morning! She usually snarls at me when I do that...

Hmm...it's usually lucky, but today was inbetween.

Good:

I'm at the episode where they find Princess Kakyuu in SailorStars, I never thought I'd progress that quickly...

Just about no homework

We got a flat computer screen!

Bad:

I got a homework note because one of my assignments was "unacceptable" since there was marachino (sp?) cherry juice on the edges from the cherries mom packed for lunch. Mom stuck up for me, though.

I didn't get a valentine even though I have a boyfriend... Our school celebrated VDay today since it's officially tomorrow, and you could buy a "CandyGram" (sucker & card) for .50 and a carnation for 1.00.

I'm hurting and bleeding all over since I seem especially clumsy today.

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

-_- well of course you wouldn't see it if it weren't happening to you. It's not like they showcase it.
