I saw Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and that's it. It was wacky, and made me laugh, but it's nothing something i'd watch over and over. No offense, but I don't get British comedy at all. I just don't find it funny.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I really wanna see Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I saw the clip with the Black Night, and I was laughing my ass of. It was sooo funny! However, I don't like the TV show that much. I prefer AbFab.

I love the television show and Holy Grail, John Cleese cracks me up. Has anyone seen the special edition DVD of Holy Grail? It's got it in Japanese and Lego ^^.

I've gotta say, Monty Python and the Holy Grail is one of my favorite funny movies of all time. English K-nig-ets. Just recently I saw Life of Brian and it was funny, but not as funny as Holy Grail. I haven't seen The Meaning of Life because some ass stole it from the DVD case at Hastings. As for the show...I haven't seen hardly any of it, but the few clips I've seen I thought were very funny.

The first MP movie that I saw was The Meaning of Life, but that was back in '89.

I gotta rent the DVD!

I've only seen a few episodes of Flying Circus, and two of the movies "And Now For Something Completely Different" and "Monty Puthon: And the Holy Grail".

The Holy Grail is such a hilarious movie. I bought the DVD and it's just so cool! The LEGOs!! XD;

I think my favorite scene in the movie is the Black Knight. That, and the scene about out to find out if one is a witch. Heh.

Those subtitles they have...What was it...from that Henry VIII play. I was confused out of my mind. *^^*;

Yes, yes, YES!!! I really like Monty Python! I've seen the movies, but I like the skits the best. I love the one about paying to have an argument. (it's on "Monty Python at the Hollywood Bowl") I also like the lumberjack song; it now makes me think of certain feminine anime males. (imagines James from Pokemon singing the song "I'm a criminal and I'm okay...) :lol:

There's a "Monty Mistress 9 and the Holy Grail" fan parody out there somewhere, but I think the website that had it is gone, so PM me and I'll email it to you. If you don't like Taiki (or the Starlights), you'll really like it. (the people who wrote it like to make fun of you-know-who's forehead)

One of my first favorite cartoons was a British one called Danger Mouse, so I've always like foreign cartoons...first Danger Mouse, now anime! (I still like DM now too)

"I'm not the Messiah!"
"I say he is the Messiah, and I should know: I've followed a few!"
"I'm not the Messiah!"
"...Only the true Messiah denies his divinity."
"Well what sort of chance does that leave me? Alright, I am the Messiah!"
"HE IS! HE IS THE MESSIAH!"
"Now fuck off!"
"Uh...how shall we fuck off, O Lord?"

At least that should show that The Life Of Brian has nothing to do with Jesus Christ...

(and yes, if you have to know, Christ does appear...for about two scenes. The humour of the scenes has nothing to do with Christ)

I never saw The Holy Grail, but I have seen And Now, for Something Completely Different (the one with the Lumberjack Song). It was (and still is) funnier than anything, and Ive seen a bunch of renditions of it for other anime.

I'm pretty sure it's British--it's got some things in it that seem more like what would be in a British cartoon, unless it's an American cartoon with all British actors that's making fun of English stuff? In the introductions beforehand on my video, it says it was made by some company with "Thames" in the name, which is a river in London.

Awhile ago I saw Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I remember it was funny. It had what you'd call the most messed up ending ever.

Great Guardians!!!!!! I remember seeing some of the Monty Python's Flying Circus series on PBS when I was in my 20's!!! HILARIOUS stuff!!! :lol: :lol: :lol: I especially LOVED "The Dead Parrot" sketch! (Mom loved it too! :D )

"And now for something completely different"...... :lol: :lol: :lol:
"Oh yeah. Someone is definitely tired of breathing." ("The Main Man", Part 1)

I'm writing this Sailor Moon/Green Lantern crossover AU fic called "Emerald Sunrise". It's a hybrid of Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Romance, and Comedy. It's about Ami (Sailor Mercury) getting a new boyfriend who just happens to be a member of The Green Lantern Corps. I'm also throwing in some other characters from other animes and some old Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the late '60's early '70's. I'm also illustrating it as well. :oops: Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.

I just got a CD of Sousa music Valentine's Day, and what's interesting is that one of the songs on it is the Monty Python theme. I don't remember what it's called, but I found that pretty interesting.

It's called "The Liberty Bell Theme" and was written for the return of the Liberty Bell to America.

Yes, that's right, now I remember, that name's on the CD song listing.

You know, they make fun of Americans the most in the Meaning of Life--the part with Death and the part with the "ordering a conversation in the torture restaurant" both have caricatures of Americans.

Hey, just a question that's sort of related to this, but do the English still call Americans "Yanks" or is that term too old? I'm just curious, and I know there are some English people on this form who could answer that.

Well, we still call them Yanks down here. Or there's the derogatory rhyming slang "septic tank" (oft shortened to "septic"). And no, for all those who watch JAG, we do not use the word "seppo".
