That's one thing I like about the series. It's expansive. Maybe everyone else will scoff at the series' longetivity, but they're doing the fans a favor.

All the sandlot sequels really bug me. I mean 2 was cute... they lost me at 3. 2 wasnt even that good....

Really...stop the squeals!

(Firestarter 2 is a insult to the original movie. DONT WATCH ;_; )

Okay, one of the things I don't like there being too many sequels of:

The Harry Potter movies. Okay, I know they're ridiculously popular, and everything, but when the movies get to three or four hours long, it gets a bit hard to bear. The fourth one moved way too quickly for me. I was hoping that they would make the fifth one and on into a television mini-series, so that there would be enough room to, I dunno, tell the whole story. But alas, it seems I am wrong...

1) um..there are a lot of sequels because there are 7 books. I..don't quite understand your reasoning there.

2) They're long because the books get longer and longer as Harry gets older and such. And how can you complain in one breath that they're too long, and then complain in the same breath that it moved too fast? I don't get that, either.

3) =P Money-making. Come on. They wouldn't make money from a television mini-series. And really, it wouldn't be the same after having four awesome and extremely popular theatrical releases.

Yes.

The Japanese novels that they are based on are a trilogy..meaning there are three of them. Ringu, Spiral (ringu 2), and Loop (ringu 3). So it only makes sense that they're finishing the trilogy.

1: I know that. My complaint isn't about the fact that there are sequels, just how they're being handled. I confess I didn't write that too well...

2) As for the too fast/ too long, that complaint is easy to explain. Now, they're trying to cram in as many things as possible into the movie, and have to cut out a lot of the book, yet the movie is still about three to four hours long. It seems a bit pointless, to me. They should take their time and allow all the important concepts to appear and not worry about futile time-slashing. Also, by cutting out so much, the movie has to move at an incredible speed. There is little dramatic tension and I didn't enjoy the feeling of being left behind in the plot for three hours. Things such as the introduction of Krum's incredible skill were cut. I'm trying hard to remember a scene that I liked from that movie, but none of them particularly stood out because it was a three-hour cram-fest with too many scenes that were too short to be memorable. Maybe I remember a bit of the dragon, but...

I disliked it a bit more because "Snuffles" didn't even appear...

3: You got me there. DVD sales and merchandising probably wouldn't compare to the money that can be made on movie tickets.

Eh, ring wasn't THAT bad. I still wanna know why they are re-making so many old movies now! Batman was good enough now they are making another, The Dark Knight. I didn't think the first one did that good....anyone care to clue me in...O-o;

No it doesn't, given that the first movie was further removed from the books than the original Japanese movie and the second movie was completely original.

Yes, it does.

I never said anything about them being an accurate representation. My reasoning here is that there are three books...which there are. Therefore, three movies. That's it.
