This is going to be the worst Christmas ever.
My sister had an alchohal party and she is 17. Next time she does this I'm calling 911.
Now my christmas is ruined, my trust in her completly gone, because SHE had alchohal! bastard. Now I think she's lost her best friend that lives in Kansas because of her idiotc decision. My family is going to be torn apart. The whole move to MI was a mistake. my sister has lost: Driving privilages/car, grounded, phone, cell phone, computer
Now, my sister has lost almost everything. she is such an idiot.

Maybe I'm just a freak with loose (or no) morals, but I don't understand why this is extremely bad. Yes, alcohol is bad for people, and it is illegal for minors, but is it really so bad that you've lost all trust in her, or that she's losing friends over this? I'm not trying to sound critical, I'm just curious what it is that makes this especially bad.

My sister is a smart person. My parents and me know how smart she is, and she should know better than this.ParaKiss_Groupie wrote:Maybe I'm just a freak with loose (or no) morals, but I don't understand why this is extremely bad. If anyone can decypher this, please tell me. For I don't have a clue what was just said.yoshmaster5 wrote:My sister had an alchohal party and she is 17. Next time she does this I'm calling 911.

You seem like the kind of person who'll lie.
However... this sword doesn't lie.
However... this sword doesn't lie.
o_O; I don't get it, either. She's 17, and this shit happens. So she'll lose her priviledges, and, for a while, your trust in her. How on earth does this relate to Christmas??
Also, in one post, you call her an idiot and in the other, smart. Seems to me you have a rather mixed view on your sister. I think you need to stop, calm down, and realize that this stuff happens so often, that quite frankly, it's nothing out of the ordinary or special.
I'm confused as to how this is going to tear your family apart. She drank alcohol. She got drunk. To me, that's not a huge deal, not huge enough to destroy a family...am I missing something here?
When you say "lost a friend", so you mean her friend died or that her friend got disgusted with her and decided to end the friendship? If it means the latter, oh well. That's her problem. She's a big girl now, and keeping and losing friendships isn't your concern nor your parents...it's hers and hers alone. If it's death, well, then I fail to understand how THAT connects.

Well, I understand the sister drank so much that she did bad things... or did she ? Maybe it changed so much from the image some people had of her that they were disgusted. That happens, too.
As for the Christmas ruined, well, I think it's because sometimes, you have parties at Christmas, and the problem is, if she drinks so much that she rolls under the table, it's not a nice things to see, and you can't enjoy it as much as if everything was nice and smooth...
*as for me, it's not my sister but my father who will ruin our Christmas, for the same exact reason u_u (but he is alcoholic anyway u_u;;;;;;;;;;;; )

That's what I really don't understand. Not to further prove my lack of morals, but the only reason I'd get pissed off at a friend for having an Alcohol Party is if they didn't invite me! The way I see it, they can do what they want. As long as they don't do anything stupid, like drive while drunk, I'm fine. Granted, I wouldn't drink at these parties, because I don't like being drunk. I'd rather be in complete control over my actions. However, that's another reason I'd want to be there. To make sure no one does anything stupid, and for blackmail purposes.Tiff wrote:When you say "lost a friend", so you mean her friend died or that her friend got disgusted with her and decided to end the friendship? *nods* indeed. Now, granted, if I had a friend who was fucking herself up bad, like doing drugs and CONSTANTLY getting drunk (and driving), i'd say something like "Look, you need to get your act together, and i'll help, but I can't deal with it anymore". That's different, though. You're speaking of ONE drinking party...what the hell kind of a friend just drops another friend because of THAT?ParaKiss_Groupie wrote: That's what I really don't understand. *nods after everyone else's comments* I didn't really understand the whole "one thing really messes up your entire holiday" thing.
I can understand that you're really upset by it though. It's probably a little more involved than we know about. (or I could be wrong) I have a friend who over the last 5 years has really messed up her life. She's doing drugs, drinking, leaving without telling anyone where she is going and now she has a boyfriend who doesn't have a job and is completely leeching off her. She just refuses to take a look at things and realize that she can do way better. Now she's so self conscious about her friends being judgemental that she's broken practically all contact with us.
I lost a lot of sleep over her. Especially when I first heard about the marijuana three years ago. I can't trust her to use proper judgement. Heck, I'm suprised she can still drive straight. (a reason I won't get in the car with her behind the wheel) My situation isn't exactly like yours, but I do understand how someone close to you can really hurt you. She was my best friend for years. I just want to slap sense into her because she was pretty smart too.
All you can do is just keep loving her. Be supportive, but causious too. You'll get through this. Be thankful that she's 17 and this is from what I understand a first time offense. Things will work out if you don't give up on her. I know Christmas seems ruined right now, but it's only about a week away. Things can still change. Do what you can for her in being a good support for her and your family, but also, go have lunch or something with some friends. Gotta remember to take care of yourself too. Besides, after having all those privilages taken away, she might get the message. I know it would be a big wake up call for me at her age.
*hugs Yoshmaster5* You're gonna get through this. could always loosen the tension on Christmas morning with some cookies or something. ^_^ never hurts to try.

-_-; yes, excessive drinking is bad...but from what yoshmaster is telling us, she drank ONCE. I'm sorry, but that doesn't automatically lead to a life of alcoholism, drug use, and failure. I think there's a bit of an overreaction here, and I think this based solely on yoshmaster's obscure and vague post.

I can kinda understand where the loss of trust is coming from though. If one of those kids at the alcohol party had been arrested or killed because they were drunk, yoshmaster5's parents could have been thrown in jail and even sued. Some kids (not all) don't consider these sort of things when they throw an alcohol party while they are in high school and so their parents feel betrayed.

What I want to know is this: Is alcohol highly forbidden in your household, yoshmaster? In my house, if we wanted to try a sip of this or a sip of that, we were allowed to. There was no "OMG, ALCOHOL IS BAD, DON'T TOUCH IT OR YOU'LL DIE" in our house. Becuase of that, I have never had the desire to get drunk, and I am very responsible when I DO drink. A lot of times, teens will simply do it becuase it's forbidden, and that makes it exciting.

I don't drink, and I don't really plan on it (although I have been to a couple "alcohol parties")... but my god. In most of Europe, the drinking age is 18. Your sister isn't going to die... and in my experience the "smart" kids are usually the ones getting stoned every weekend. Just wait till high school yosh.
Well then they need to get over it. You can't pidgeon whole people into what you think they are. People change and are more complex than many may realize.Akarui Kibuno wrote:Well, I understand the sister drank so much that she did bad things... or did she ? Yoshmaster, your her sibling NOT her parent so maybe you should start trying to support her and find out if anythings wrong rather than jumping on the bandwaggon of "your EVIL and I hate you for doing this to me!". It was 1 night of drinking, not murder and grand theft.

I'm just ashamed.
The reason I say that my sister is smart is because she is.
This was a HUGE mistake on her part.
Now, I'm not against drinking, only underage drinking.
