Small Wonder

Not only was the budget low (none of the episodes I've seen left the house), but really, I can only take so much Tiffany Brisette parroting people and speaking in an annoying monotone (although kudos to the directors for getting her to stay still and not fidget). Plus, I'm not really sure I agree with the idea of Vicki living in Jamie's closet. I saw a (terrible) parody version where that last idea was carried out to its logical conclusion (apparently, she wasn't programmed for that kind of behaviour).

The Amazing Spider-Man

No, this wasn't a cartoon. It was live-action, and just about anyone vaguely familiar with and partial to the franchise is likely to recoil in utter horror at the abominations wrought within.

Now, this kid named Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider. That much is accurate to the comics. He also goes to work for the Daily Bugle. But then come the changes. See, J. Jonah Jameson is re-worked into some sort of mentor figure (although, to be fair, they did something similar with Perry in Lois and Clark), whereas Aunt May and Mary Jane are gone, replaced with Peter's colleagues from the paper. Peter's Spider-Sense now no longer works in his immediate vicinity, but instead shows imminent danger that he may be nowhere near (How do we know it's kicked in? A bad special effect covers his eyes, and we transition to a future event shown with a red filter). And Spidey only has one bulky web shooter. And it's boody boring.
"That new girl? She seems kinda weird to me. And what kind of name is Buffy anyway?"
"Hey, Aphrodisia!"

If you're reading this, then you've lost the game.

If anyone bothers looking at this post, I'm probably going to get killed for this, but I hate Family Guy with every fiber of my being. This show is not funny; they do the same action for almost a minuet sometimes, there is no plaot at all, and, what really made hate it, the sexism. How can anyone laugh at jokes about rape? Just what is so funny about "It's not rape, it's surprise sex!"? "Jokes" like that were all over the episodes I saw, and I was outraged. How is a show like this insanely popular, while an excellent show like Home Movies goes ignored?

Yeah, sorry, that turned into a bit of a rant. Because of what they've done to so many channels I used to like, I rarely watch TV anymore. Nickelodian was great when I was little, CN might as well not exist anymore (along with Adult Swim), and some with the Disney channels. I wasted hours of my life when Toon Disney first came on, watching Bonkers, Darkwing Duck, and Gargoyles, but now it's nothing.

Home Movies always has a "plot"? Not really, it's just a show about young kids (with adults voices, for some reason) video taping movies, getting into trouble, doing whatever else they can to insure the creator can pass an entire 15 minutes. Don't take this the wrong way, but I personally believe Family Guy has a LOT more plot to it than Home Movies.

But really, it's just the new episodes, in my opinion, that aren't as good as they used to be. I'm just beginning to think that the Family Guy creators are beginning to run out of ideas, and some of their new ideas are kind of crap, in my opinion.

I mean, all of the sudden, there's all of this Meg bashing, pretty much in every episode she's in. She also seems to have turned into quite the angry teen, with lines such as "Oh, so now you gonna drop some weight, fat ass?" Sure, Meg probably IS the least popular character on the show, but come ON! There used to be entire episodes dedicated to her!

I should probably stop while I'm ahead, or this will probably turn into some huge Family Guy flame war, or something.

Anyway, on the topic of shows we don't like... There's a show on MTV that I can't help but like, AND dislike. It's called My Super Sweet Sixteen.

I mean, it's great watching the 16 (and sometimes older) year old kids having the time of their lives, getting a car, having a party and whatnot. But what I hate about the show is, they only seem to show the spoiled rich kids having a good time; inviting people they don't even know to the party, booking shopping malls to have their party in, pouting if something should happen to go wrong with the "typically stupid and annoying" parents... No, that's not cool at all. I think MSSS should show a poor kid at LEAST once on there. They need to prove that it isn't money that makes the best birthday in the world.

I dunno, that's just what I think, I guess.

Home Movies does have a lot more plot then Family Guy (which has none; seriously, name one element of the plot), although you have to watch pretty muc hthe whole series to pick up on it, how Brendon is growing up, his mother is getting through the divorce, the Coach getting more attached to Brendon, ect. This is one of the few shows I watch just because of how funny it is; dialouge driven shows are very hard to do, but Home Movies manages to pull it off wonderfully, the episodes just getting better from season to season. Normally, I wouldn't give a rip if people don't like my favorite show, but saying that a piece of garbage that should burn is better then it crosses the line.

Yes, I noticed the Meg bashing, but it's not just her; it EVERY female on the show. Home Movies is a show not targeted at any specific gender that anyone with a sense of humor can enjoy. You don't have some idiot with a big chin talking about drugging girls and having his way with them, sequences that repeat over and over, or jokes that only people who would laugh at anything would enjoy.

Since it hasn't been mentioned, I'll toss in one of my ultimate least favorites that most people seem to love that I'm sure I'll get flack for like the Family Guy comment:

Robot Chicken. I can't, for the life of me, understand why people watch this. For starters, the scenes change so fast sometimes it's just IMPOSSIBLE for my brain to keep up, and give me a huge headache. Sometimes I think ADD needs to be a pre-requisite for actually watching this. -_- I do like Aqua Teen, and some people will argue that the humor in that is really fast-paced too, but the difference? It's actually FUNNY. Robot Chicken... isn't. It's just stupid. I think I've laughed maybe once out of the 8 or so episodes I've bothered to sit through. Now, I will say that the stop-motion animation is kinda cool with the dolls, but that alone just can't save the show for me.

I also dislike Home Movies from *what I've seen*, but not really enough of it to fully judge, so I'll leave that one alone for now. I'd also go into the sheer horror of 12 oz. mouse, Minoriteam, Tom Goes to the Mayor, etc., but I think most people who have a brain already agree with how terribly they suck.

And as much as I love FG, I'll add in Family Guy SEASON 4 as one of my least favorite too. I can't stand this season at all, it's so awful.

...Don't flame me, last time I checked we were allowed to say what we dislike. =P

ZOMG I K33L U R COMPUTER WIT H4XXORS!!!1111

Just kidding :P Robot Chicken is defiantely an acquired taste. I've seen a few episodes on youtube and a bunch of random clips. It's a very hit and miss show, but I still love it. I always enjoy going to sites where people take pictures of their toy collection and make humourous scenes. I love collecting toys/action figures whatever the Hell I can call them to make myself sound less nerdy, I love stop motion animation, and I adore Seth Green, so when I heard of this show that combines all these elements I just about died.

Although I think Robot Chicken's more of a "download the short funny clips from the web" thing then it is a "sit through an entire episode" thing.

(BTW The reason the scenes change so fast is because it's supposed to be like flipping through channels).

That may be why RC is only 15 minutes and no commercials; they don't expect people to sit through and come back. Given its timeslot and nature, it may be that they're counting on people being tired and/or drunk while watching it.

Still, I like it.

Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

I'm just the opposite, Sylph. I get Robot Chicken, but not Aqua Teen Hunger Force. ^^;

YES. Ugh. I haven't even bothered to watch Minoriteam, but 12oz Mouse and Tom Goes drive me up the wall. Pocket lint is more fun to watch. Sometimes it moves.

Minoriteam, 12 oz Mouse, and Tom Goes to the Mayor can BURN AND DIE forever. They are TERRIBLE.

Home Movies is kinda cute, but I haven't watched it in forever.

I adore Robot Chicken. It's one of my favorite shows =D ATHF is awesome, too. I get and enjoy both =P

Meh, Robot Chicken is okay. Some of the scenes on there are okay, but yeah, it all moves way too quick. Although, the very first episode of RC was probably the best, it just kinda went downhill from there I think...Too much ADD TV. =P

I follow it perfectly fine. It's just a bunch of different skits that change around at a fast pace. It's not like it has plot or anything. O_o
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

I just recently saw a show on comedy central called Wonder Showzen.

It was the most disgusting thing Ive ever seen, and it actually has children in it. I dont know how to producers get away with it???

I don't think it moves too quickly to follow. Of course, I'm a channel surfer by nature (which drives my mother nuts), so I'm right at home with the pace. XD
