It really trips me out to see those valley girl spies sweat-dropping. It's as if some 30 year old guy who lives in his mother's basement decided he liked anime so much he'd make an idiotic show about three teen chicks fighting crime (*cough*charlie's angels*cough*) and include anime-esque characteristics.
However, please refrain from using insults such as "retarded" on here.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

1) I like Teen Titans. I'm not sure if they are going after Anime Money or if they are mocking anime's popularity, but It's not a bad cartoon.

2) I totally hate, Totally Spies [minor pun intended], but for a different reason.
*Begins Rant*
CN doesn't have many girl Cartoons. Most [around 95%] of the shows aired on CN target boys. Mainly boys between 13 to 19. I think the only "Made for Girls" Cartoon on there is PowerPuff Girls. Totally spies is nothing but poor fasions, late 90's valley girl slang, filled with stupidity. When I first saw the commercial for Totally spies I hung my head down in shame for Cartoon Network. I really did. This - This was the best they could come up with? The leading characters are valley-girls. The creators stereo-typed teenage girls as the mall shopping, boy crazy, "like totally" girl. This doesn't exactly set a very good example for young girls. If I didn't know any better, I'd almost swear that it was mild-mild fanservice for guys.
*/Ends Rant*
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

1. Like Tempest, I like Teen Titans.

2. Anime itself was influenced by American cartoons, so that happens in both directions.

3. I heard Totally Spies was from Europe...

"Monster! I''''m going to collide with you indefinitely as my limbs flail wildly about!" ~NPC, Dragon Warrior VII

And Totally Spies was first on ABC Family...or was it still FOX Family then. Either way, I saw it there when it first aired. CN just "adopted" it.

What time and such? Channel? I'd like to see these and judge for myself how they are, then I'll come back with an opnion. ^.^;;;

Not sure about a time, but as everyone has said, it is on CN, which is Cartoon Network.

First off, this thread was never started by saying Totally Spies was American. He simply said they were on Cartoon Network, so the fact that it's from Europe doesn't change that is uses Anime characteristics.
And i'm with Tempest. It's not the anime bit that bugs me..it's what it's COUPLED with: the valley girl-ness, the ridiculous, idiotic dialog, and the bad choice of programming aimed at girls.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

::nods:: It's not the mock anime, it's the message.

In response to Drukqs in her out of topic message about this topic;
I agree, so I don't watch it. It's not like I tune in everytime it comes on and say, "God I hate this program" *watch*watch* "Geez, this program is stupid" *watch*watch* "Yay! It's over" *changes the channel*.
But people are entitled to their opinions of that/these shows.

Exactly. I DON'T watch it. But I am able to develop an opinion on it by watching it once or twice, and never watching it again.

Uh, not that I'm offended or anything, but I'm actually a girl ^-^;;

And like I said before, I actually like TS ok, but from what little I've seen, the storylines and carachters disgust me greatly, and I have yet to see Teen Titans.

sorry about that. ^^;; heh heh. His has been changed to her.

If the characters and story digusts you, then how can you like it? I don't mean to sound rude, but I'm confused.

I refuse to watch TS just because of CN's one horrid commercial, where they marketed the show with a bunch of characters repeating "totally" in that valley-girl slangish-accent...bleaugh ><;

As to the other show...I LIKE Teen Titans despite the anime-inspired style - and they even manage to pull that off VERY well. TT follows some of the comic personalities well (from what little I've read), and has a lot of good action and storyline to make it a substantial program.

You know what's surprising? I've heard Totally Spies has really GOOD ratings on CN.
