A story...

Post by Tiff » Fri Dec 05, 2003 11:16 pm

I just wanted to share something.

One of my best, closest friends (who I know online, through letters and phone calls, and have never met, but we've talked for years) came online and said she had totaled her car. She and her little brother (who means the world to her) were in the car...she skidded on ice, slammed into a telephone pole, did a 360, and ended up in someone's yard.

Luckily, people called the paramedics, and her father happened to drive by. The poor man probably had a heart attack. I know I almost did when she told me. If it weren't for airbags, they'd probably be in the hospital. Jo's (the girl's) face was smashed up a bit, and her wrists are swollen. Her brother just as a few cuts, one a bit severe, but not requiring stitches....

I just want to thank whatever spirits and gods exist for saving them. Jo means so much to me...I love her so much, and I don't know what I would have done if something had happened to her. And I know if something happened to her brother, Jo wouldn't be able to go on.

I had tears in my eyes as we talked, and a mixture of emotions went through me...
Please, everyone...tell those close to you how much you love them. Tell them how much they mean...becuase you never know what might happen. Just reach out and hug them.
That's all.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Awwe.

::hug::
as I mentioned on IM, alteaste everyone is all right. I'm sure that Jo knows you'll be there for her for emotional support. ::hug again:: It must have been extreme scarry for you. For everyone.
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

Tiff, my prayers go out for your friend and her brother's speedy recovery. I hope they are out of the hospital feeling much better real soon.

And thanks for the wake-up call; sometimes it's FAR to easy for people to get caught up in trivial things that they forget what's really important in life. So to reiterate what Tiff said...if you haven't lately, call your loved ones up, and tell them how you feel about them. Love is a precious thing that should never be taken for granted. Thanks, Tiffany.

I'll take that advice immediately. Tiff, you mean so much to me, even in the short span we've known each other. ::hug:: <3

I'm happy that Jo and her brother are okay. ^^

I, too, am glad to hear that your friend and her brother are OK as well. And I'd say that to you even if I didn't know you through the wonders of the Internet for the last two years or so.

^_^ and the same to you, Anthy-babe. *glomps*

Thanks to all of you for your great comments...Sorry if this seems like a sap-fest, but sometimes you have to have moments like this to remind you of those you love and those who, without, you'd be lost.

*nods*

I can't imagine what I would become if something happened to my online or non-online friends... no matter where the person is, it's the bond, the link, the thing between you and the person that is important.

I'll take the advice too!

It's great to hear they're ok, stuff like that is really scary and it's great that they were lucky to make it through the accident ok. I know of loss all too well and I'm glad that Jo's family and friends didn't have to go through that horrible experience. I hope they make a speedy recovery to enjoy Christmas together.

I always say that I love my loved ones. At least 4 times a day to family, and 2 times at least to friends. Yay for airbag installations and the spirits that watch over those that we love. It's the Christmas/Holidy spirits! Yay!

*hugs Tiff-sama* I never got the chance to say good-bye to my granddad when he passed on in May. I'm just glad your friend and her little brother are going to be OK after the accident.

I'm writing this Sailor Moon/Green Lantern crossover AU fic called "Emerald Sunrise". It's a hybrid of Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Romance, and Comedy. It's about Ami (Sailor Mercury) getting a new boyfriend who just happens to be a member of The Green Lantern Corps. I'm also throwing in some other characters from other animes and some old Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the late '60's early '70's. I'm also illustrating it as well. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.

*hugs* I'm sorry for your loss, and that you didn't get to say goodbye.

Update! Jo's wrists aren't broken, just sprained, and she and her brother are at home doing fine. It's hard for Jo to chew and talk, becuase of her face and jaw, but she'll be just fine ^^

Oooh, Tiff! I'm glad they're okay. I hope they both feel better quick. *pats the Tiffmonkey's hand* (and don't worry. -monkey is a good thing.)
Parallax- I know how you feel. I don't think I got to tell my grandpa goodbye either. I can't remember because it was years ago, but still.

*Hugs Tiff and Darksenshi51* I'm so sorry, Darksenshi. I went out to my friends and let them know I cared. I'll always keep that story with me.

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?

Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

I am very sorry, witch-hunter. I would honestly have to say that was okay with him, though. When there's a death, think about what that person would want. Would they want you to feel sorry about that death and forget to live, or would they want you to grieve for a bit, get over it the best you can, and live? It's impossible to forget someone you loved or even truely get over it, but after any death someone has the oppertunities to be happy again, if they take them. For now take that item, store it someone out of reach, out of sight, out of mind. If you want to later, take it out and instead of regretting about never giving it back, look at it and think what a good friend he was.
