True, but the one I was referring to shows the chicken EATING chicken. It was along the same lines as the pig ones.

Anyways, for those who don't understand the sign:

Christians believe that that everyone is born with the "stain" of Adam and Eve's original sin, and that it's with the blessing of Baptism that we are forgiven of that (please, no flames). Now, we also believe that the Virgin Mary's birth was an "Immaculate Conception" i.e, that from the moment she was conceived, she was freed from sin, original or otherwise. No one else - not even Jesus - was born like this.

The sign uses the other definition of the word "Conception" as in "idea"; thus, the idea of going Vegetarian as a "Sinless Idea". It's a play on words, so to speak, but the idea that they would put the two (a person born without sin versus not eating meat) at the same level is, to me (and perhaps others, Christian or otherwise) appalling.
Thank you. I totally needed someone to clear that up for me, and I'm sure a lot of other people did, too.

"Immaculate Conception" wasn't refering to the conception of Mary, but to Mary's conception of Jesus. Though your explanation did help clear it up for me some, thanks Starscream :D

No, it's the conception of Mary.

Mary NEEDED to be born free from sin so that she could be the Mother of Jesus, God made flesh (I went to church yesterday to celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception, so I'm quite sure that's what it's celebrating).

I've always heard that Jesus was born by immaculate conception, since she's called the "Virgin Mother." But I could be wrong...maybe one Christian group says Mary had the immaculate birth and another says Jesus did?

Well, Jesus, too, was born free from sin, but that's a whole other discussion due to the fact that Christians believe he is God incarnate. However, the Immaculate Conception is, and always has been, in reference to Mary's birth, freed from sin. No distinction is made of such a birth for Jesus because, again, he is believed to be God made flesh, and we believe that God is sinless, ergo Jesus is.

Hmmm, I guess we either have different versions [which really bothers me that there are "versions", but that's a totally different topic] or I misread it. The bible can be kinda cryptic at times.

And that's why I asked if different Christian sects had different versions of the Immaculate Conception. The different versions might be for different sects, like how Protestants and Catholics have different beliefs.

Starscream is correct. The dictionary states as follows:

im·mac·u·late ( P ) Pronunciation Key (-mky-lt)
adj.
Impeccably clean; spotless. See Synonyms at clean.
Free from stain or blemish; pure.
Free from fault or error: an immaculate record.
Having no markings.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Middle English immaculat, from Latin immacultus : in-, not; see in-1 + macultus, past participle of maculre, to blemish (from macula, spot).]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
im·macu·late·ly adv.
im·macu·late·ness n.
