...How does this make him a hero?

I think it made him-and the people watching-complete morons.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

"An hero" is a term for someone who has committed suicide for a stupid reason. It started on 4chan when that kid who had his iPod stolen killed himself.

sorry, i'm not familiar with the "an hero" term. could you explain why the term is what it is? This story is sad... and it's not the first time it's happened. A while ago, someone killed themself and taped it while others egged him on... I'm just shocked that anyone would actually do that or even watch it.

Some kid named Mitchell Henderson had his iPod stolen, became depressed, and killed himself. Here's a eulogy that was posted on Mitchell's MySpace by a friend named Lila:

He was such an hero, to take it all away. We miss him so, That you should know, And we honor him this day. He was an hero, to take that shot, to leave us all behind. God do we wish we could take it back, And now he's on our minds. Mitchell was an hero, to leave us feeling like this, Our minds are rubber, our joints don't work, Our tears fall into abyss. He was an hero, to take that shot, In life it wasn't his task, He shouldn't have had to go that way, before a decade'd past. Now he sits there in my heart, this hero of mine, Always there to make me smile, Make me feel just fine. He had courage, that boy did, courage in his heart. To take that shot, To end his pain, To tear us all apart. But in the end, he died in courage. Lacking, nevermore, He died a hero, Mitchell did, And we'll love him forevermore. We love you like a brother. We miss you so much. We will always love you, kid. Rest In Peace Mitch. ~Lila

Ever since then, "an hero" means to commit suicide for stupid things (e.g., spilling your glass of milk).

okay, thanks. i get it now... and the person who wrote that wasn't too smart was she... someone committing suicide over a stupid reason isn't exactly a hero in most people's eyes.

I'm wondering if they were trying to say anti-hero?

Words of Advice:
1. Always remember you are normal, it everyone else that "weird".
2. Remember Ferengi Rules of Acquisition #76: Every once in a while, declare peace. It confuses the hell out of your enemies.
3. Jack may be nimble and Jack may be quick, but he still burned his a** on the candlestick.

The rest of the eulogy is written with poor grammar, so it's most likely that she was just failing at indefinite articles.

Alright everybody, let's move this back on topic, please.

Wow. Okay, then.

It's still stupid. *Shrugs* Good riddance, I say.
