The addictiveness of Trading cards...

Post by Aya Reiko » Tue Jun 26, 2007 1:15 am

Out of curiosity who else here collects trading cards of one form or another? Or at least they used to.

I have a 3 in. binder full of Lycee CCG, even though I can't read a lick of Japanese. It all started with Type-Moon 1.0, then Type-Moon 2.0, and then I expanded all over the place.

I'll post a few scans if anyone's interested in what they look like.
You seem like the kind of person who'll lie.
However... this sword doesn't lie.

I used to try and collect Pokemon and Yugioh cards. I don't have them collected anywhere specific, they're all just scattered around the house. I've never been DEEP into collecting, but I know I went through a short phase of wanting to collect a mass amount of Yugioh cards.

I also have a Jigglypuff and Meowth card, both from Japan, somewhere around. They're in plastic card cover things, and they say Pocket Monters on the back. :3

Back in the day, my brothers and I collected first baseball, then basketball cards. We still have a HUGE box full of cards that we need to go through and perhaps sell sometime. As I got older and got into anime, I shifted to collecting Sailor Moon cards of all kind, so I have a binder filled with all sorts of random Japanese Sailor Moon cards. I later moved to DiC's set of Sailor Moon cards, as well as a limited-run series of coin-dispensed cards that were available at Toys 'R Us. I also have a whole bunch of Sailor Moon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Pokemon CCG cards; I tried to seriously collect all of the SM and Pokemon sets, but it turned out to be to financially impossible, so the card collecting part of me is taking a nice long respite for now.

Is this the sweet sound, that calls the young sailors?
The voice maybe one in the same.
Ive heard it too many times to ignore it,

I have all of the Sailor Moon trading cards AND a Dark Magician Girl card. Not even thinking of parting with any of those. 8)
"Oh yeah. Someone is definitely tired of breathing." ("The Main Man", Part 1)

I'm writing this Sailor Moon/Green Lantern crossover AU fic called "Emerald Sunrise". It's a hybrid of Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Romance, and Comedy. It's about Ami (Sailor Mercury) getting a new boyfriend who just happens to be a member of The Green Lantern Corps. I'm also throwing in some other characters from other animes and some old Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the late '60's early '70's. I'm also illustrating it as well. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.
