Out of curiosity, how many of you have visited other countries, and if you have, then which ones did you visit? I have not visited any countries aside from the US yet however I might get to go to Puerto Rico in December.
Just Canada. But I wanna go to Japan...
Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....
Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

I know that Tiffany has. Although I have never been to Japan myself, I have two cousins that are visiting Japan. One of them actually sent me some food from there -- she hates it, though, because she finds the weather to be too cold, the people to be too aloof and all she ever gets to eat is fish.Celexa wrote:HAS anyone here ever been to Japan?
Why can't she eat anything else there?Stephen Victor wrote:I know that Tiffany has. Although I have never been to Japan myself, I have two cousins that are visiting Japan. Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?

I've been to Canada and Mexico. And the US of course. Mexico frightened me. I was 8 at the time and I had never seen true poverty, and I actually burst into tears. It was very frightening to see children my own age, just like me, come up to me begging. I just couldn't comprehend it.
Then there was Canada. Good GOD. Like a fucking parallel universe it is. Like if England and the US had a baby.

That would make me cry as well. I would sob. I just wouldn't be able to handle that.Jeff wrote:I've been to Canada and Mexico. And the US of course. Mexico frightened me. I know I've been to Canada before, but I have a hard time comprehending what's so...off about it. Is it that they speak both french and english, or their currency or what? I thought Canada was pretty OK, and I thought that the Niagra falls were pretty cool. Can someone PLEASE explain to me why Canada is such a weird country?

I think part of it has to do with our dialect of English ... the main parts are the use of "eh" (which tends to get very overly exaggerated by people, especially Americans making fun of Canadians), and also the fact that certain words get pronounced differently.Celexa wrote:I know I've been to Canada before, but I have a hard time comprehending what's so...off about it. The most overused examples are "doubt" and "about". The "ou" vowel is pronouced like the "ou" in "loud" in American English, but in Canadian English it's a little bit different. It can wind up sounding like an "oo" sound (as in "moon") to speakers of other dialects of English. (By the way, this is actually referred to as "Canadian Raising", but oddly enough is not restricted to Canada).
I wouldn't go so far to say that we're in a parallel universe ... Canada was more influenced by England than the U.S. was (we typically use British spellings, like "colour" and "neighbour", we use the metric system for the most part, etc.).Jeff wrote:Then there was Canada. Good GOD. Like a fucking parallel universe it is. Like if England and the US had a baby.
Anyway, getting back on topic, I've lived in Canada all my life ... in fact, I've lived in Alberta all my life (we've moved within the province a few times, but that's it). I've travelled to:
- U.S.
- Germany
- United Arab Emirates ( click here for a link to a map showing where the U.A.E. is).
I've never left the US ^_^;;
I do want to go to Japan, though. And Australia.

LOL Not since I was born on a U.S. military soil. Plus, my parents are American, therefore, I am an American Citizen and have no Japanese citizenship whatsoever. I know there's something that says I could have had Japanese citizenship until the age of 18 or something, but I forget what it says.Sailor X wrote:I've never been to other countries...
