The Kurt Cobain Movie

I guess Courtney love is doing a movie about the life of her deceased husband Kurt Cobain. The first thing that popped into my head is she is trying to milk as much as she can from he legend behind his name. But as much as I hate to put money into her pocket, id like to see a movie about his life if its done well. I know alot of people did not like alot of things they did and (for Courtney) continue to do lifestyle wise. But in highschool I was a huge Nirvana fan and still have all the cds save the last one that came out I think a year ago which is probably another compliation of their hits and a new song or two. K before I get side tracked back to the thought of this post. I think if they are going to have a movie based on their lives that they should not use big named stars for the roles. I dont think I know of any well known actor that could pull off the complex personality of Kurt Cobain, and id like to definately see a new actor portray him someone who could delve deep into his psyche. As for Courtney love as much as I dont agree or condone some of her antics I think a fresh face playing her is called for as well. Just wanted to see what anyone else thinks on this.

Well, from my point of view, if it is from Courtney Love, she must be trying to milk more money from his name. I feel bad for him, even though he is long gone, he had to put up with her. Now, what she is doing, is even more insulting.

I agree that it really does seem like she is milking it considering lately all her publicity has been negative, something like this would probably take away from her antics for awhile. My whole thing is if she didnt do it eventually someone would just because of how revolutionary Cobain and his band were. So if the movie is going to be made I hope that they dont use well know actors for the roles because IMO I dont know of any well known actors that could pull off at least Kurt's personality. And yeah I can already hear some thinking how hard is it to pull off a drug user but he was more then that and his music spoke to many people and still continues to.

My friend's a Nirvana/Kurt Cobain fan. She's also one of the people who believe's that Courtney was responsible for his death. I'd be interested in her reaction. As for Courtney milking Kurt's death for money, I can't help but think of her manga Princess Ai. I didn't read it, but I heard from some people it was pretty blahish. Apparently Ai/Courtney can't go five panels without mentioning "HEART SHAPED BOX" and talks about her love Kent, who looks a lot like Kurt.

If Courtney has a significant say in this movie, it'd be interesting to see how she has the movie portrays herself.

Ugh I am glad I never read that manga then. And I hope the only role Courtney has in it is as an investor because if she has anything to do with the scripts and it portrays her in a false light it will take away from what I think should be the movies true focus. Then again it is Courtney love we are talking about so im sure it will be about her and her suffering after his loss. Im sure shes crying as she clutches onto everything the band worked hard for claiming as her own.

princess ai is by courtney love? wow. i didn't know that. interesting. o.o

well...this is a big star name...but. i think ewan mcgregor might do a decent job as kurt. i think it's because of how i saw him in velvet goldmine with toni collette and jonathan rhys-meyers. and he reminded me of kurt cobain with his scraggly blonde hair and 5 o'clock shadow.

I liked his work in trainspotting as well I just dunno though if they did definately go with him that would be one thing but I could see hollywood sticking any old big named young guy in the role just to sell the movie to people who may not have any real taste for the bands music and that would suck. Plus if Mrs Love has a bunch of control anyone could get these parts and butcher a compelling story. Ive read a few books on the life of Kurt Cobain and the band itself he had a very deep and sometimes troubling life and id love to see what a movie could do to convey this. I just dont know if I have much faith in something shes backing too much but then again Im one of the people who thinks shes responsible for her husbands death as well.

She needs to have more and more money SeiUsa, she just wants to milk this out so she can be put back in the positive media spotlight as opposed to the bad side. Anyway, I still think she killed him. My theory is that she switched his medication with something to kill him.

I didnt have much respect for her before though I will admit to liking some of Holes songs (specially her cover of Gold dust woman). But it wasnt her drug use or even the stupid crap she did in public for attention that bugged me, what bugged me was the fight over royalties and rights to the bands songs. I know that being married to the lead singer may have gotten her a bit of something but I always felt Chris and Dave should not have put up with having to fight with her for songs they helped preform and write (for some songs not all) I think she was and still is a very greedy person and I dont like her motives behind the movie though id still like to see it get made to see how it would portray her and Kurt.

Princess Ai is Courtney Love (Ai means love in Japanese). The whole story is supposed to be a kind of autobiography of Courtney Love's life, Mary-Sueified to Hell and back.

Sailor V if I seen anything like that Id walk out of the movie theater and demand my money back. Kurt Cobain may have had some heavy issues but I highly doubt he was knocking Courtney around at all. If anything she wore the pants in that relationship and was bossy to boot. Its like that in some relationships you have the dominate personality louder and out there and take charge against the more introverted personality who goes along for the ride. Courtney would seem more likely the abuser in a relationship if ya asked me.

(Note I am not stating that she abused her husband cause I obviously would not know such information.)

As for her being a victim I did feel for her when she cried at his grave site reading his letters, that lasted for about a hot minute when the fight for song royalties started. I just hope that she doesnt turn this movie into a personal crusade to clean up her image. If she really wants fans to appreciate her cause she will expose all the ugliness along with the good side of their lives. She did it years ago in that interview so if she still has the balls she should be honest about everything in this movie to.

Courtney Love eyes Johnansson/Gosling for Heaven

Ryan Gosling as Kurt Cobain? k im not sure about this one sorry ive seen some of the stuff mr Gosling has been in. I think hes an alright actor. But Kurt Cobain isnt just some depressed character hes very complexed IMO. I think Ewan Mcgreggor should be casted and if not I doubt im going to go see this movie. And as for Scarlett beign cast Im wondering if thats an ego thing for Courtney Love. Not saying her acting couldnt pull it off, just wondering if Miss Johansson wants to really uglyfy herself again for a role like that. Considering she did do well in Monster who knows?

Honestly, I LIKE Countney Love, and I LOVED Prncess Ai (I don't see the mary-sue at all. Last time I cheeked, Mary sues where loved bye all, kthnx)

Look im not claiming she doesnt legitamately want to see Curt's story out there, and going off topic abit here since its been done a few times in this thread anyway. Mrs Love is the type of person who wants More Money. Dont believe me ask Chris Novaselic or Dave Grohl who had to fight for their share of Nirvana rights after it was promised to them. I like some of Holes music and even a few of Courtney's solo stuff but by no means is she not a greedy woman and she admits to the fact at times. She wants what she wants and goes after it. So its not like people are slandering her here.

...Where on earth did you get the inclination that Mary Sues are loved by all? Most people cannot STAND Mary Sues. WTF?
