Im probably in the minority here but Im a big fan of the 80's group tears for fears.

One of their best songs is called Mad World. some of the lyrics are:

The cool thing about this song is the lyrics are very down beat, but the music is very fast and upbeat. Its very ironic. Anyway the reason I bring this up is a few years ago someone did a cover of this song for the movie "Donnie Darko" and im my opinion really ruined the songs appeal. He made the music as downbeat as the lyrics and killed the irony of it. Dont get me wrong his version is good its just not as "powerful" as the original version.

This is one of my faves because it talks about how someone is considered "crazy" simply because they see life, not as it is, but how it should be. It also means that you shouldn't stop your dream just because it seems impossible.

To me, the lyrics combined with the music just sound powerful. Well, maybe not necessarily 'powerful', but their definitley good lyrics. I've always loved Heart, but I think this is easily one of the best songs they've ever made. The lyrics also obviously have some sort of a dark feel to them, but I can't help but listen to this song over and over again. <3

I apologize. I've been having computer problems. Anyway, I should discuss this now. The first verse of Thugz Mansion basically shows his sorrow of life and how his type of people could be saved. I don't know if I'm explaining it right. As for Fortune & Fame, it's actually from the Better Dayz album known as the chorus for Fame.

"Precious Child" by Karen Taylor Good. I first heard the song in Health class, when a speaker came in and played a video tribute to her daughter who was killed by a drunk driver. I think this is the only song that can make me cry just by thinking about it.

This is a song about how a guy likes a girl but she chooses to be with some rich guy that has thousands of former flames and he can replace her with another girl when he get's bored with her. Very touching song.[/quote]

I love this song. It was my school’s Class of 2006 graduation song, and I don’t think there could have been a better choice. The lines in bold are my favorites. I think they apply to me in life. I sometimes hold on to the past instead of moving forward, and it’s time that I break that habit and move on. I still get teary-eyed whenever I listen to this.
