I watch the show Medical Mysteries every Wendsday night on ABC (I think), and this week they had a disease that just had me in tears called Progeria. It's a condition where children's bodies age rapidly while their minds age normal (sort of like the movie Jack, I think). On the show, it said that the person who lived the longest with the disease was only 29. The boy on the show wasn't that old yet, but he's already balding, his eye sight is failing, and his cells are dying.

I really hope they find a cure soon, because this is just too cruel.
Does anyone else watch Medical Mysteries? If you get the channel, I suggest watching it at least once. Next week is going to talk about a girl who has her senses mixed up; she plays a note on a piano and sees a color, and when she tastes something, she sees a shape.

Very saddening

"The great library of Willendorf, filled with dull tomes of trite accounts by pompous historians about matters that could not possibly be of interest to anyone but themselves." Kain -- Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
I know what you're talking about. It is very sad...
...but hopefully in the future a cure will be found. At least in that little boys lifetime he got to get the message out about his disease and now more people around the world (well... in the US anyway...) know about and can donate towards helping the cause.
This is a miracle. God grants people miracles in very grand and mysterious ways.

I've heard of that before... ouch. Man, that's just... really cruel. Yeah, said it best with cruel. Can't think of anything else to say really...

I saw a news report about a baby girl who had that disease. I think she was only two, or something, and she already had graying hair and age spots. It made me cry something fierce, because it's like... It's like they won't know what a real life is like, if they happen to live long enough anyway.

Wow...really harsh.
Wow...really harsh.
Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.
