Only the biggest. It took my mother three hours to convince me that no grandson of hers was going to be called 'Sirius', so I had to settle for Remus.

It's your choice what you name your own son...if you really like Sirius I don't see why you can't name him Sirius.

No offense, but I think "Sirius" sounds a bit less spaced-out than "Remus" ^^;;;;

I'm writing this Sailor Moon/Green Lantern crossover AU fic called "Emerald Sunrise". It's a hybrid of Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Romance, and Comedy. It's about Ami (Sailor Mercury) getting a new boyfriend who just happens to be a member of The Green Lantern Corps. I'm also throwing in some other characters from other animes and some old Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the late '60's early '70's. I'm also illustrating it as well. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.

I have a bit of a fetish for names of things or mythological names. My Internet name, Rainbow, is one of my favorite names, and I'd probably name a kid that. I love all those stereotypical hippie nature names, and also have a fetish for naming characters after sweet foods like the Strawberry Shortcake characters. (which is what interested me in Tokyo Mew Mew, since the main characters have food names) Here's the names I probably like the most (most of them will sound like girls' names, but I wouldn't mind naming a boy some of them...don't want to be a biological mother though, I'd rather adopt). Yes, I know most of these aren't normal names...I'M not normal!

Rainbow (duh), Cinnamon, Luna, Bunny (I was a bit disappointed to find out that Sailor Moon was named Serena instead of Bunny because a friend got me interested in Sailor Moon because she said the main character was named Bunny), Andromeda, Electra, Moonbeam, Stardust, Starshine, Moondancer, Sparkle, Chibi, Diana, Pulsar, Zircon, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond...etc...to me, almost anything can be a name!

If you think that's weird, I once saw someone named "Strawberry Fields" Fields being her surname, and Strawberry her given name..
Ehh, I don't know, Diana's an alright name, but I wouldn't want to be the kid named Stardust who gets laughed at at school..Odd names might be fun, but you have to think of the effect it'd have on the kid who's named it..

*nods* indeed. I mean..certain words just shouldn't be names, if you ask me.

I have no idea what Ill name my kids or if I'll even have any, but a few names that I like:

Boys: Spencer, Carter, Logan, Hunter, Dante, Chase
Girls: Kyra, Kirsten, Celeste, Asha, Ava, Saphron

I love the name Spencer (I use it usually if I'm writing a character based on myself) but I can't use it if I ever have a son cause my cousin has a son named that. I probably can't use Kyra either cause my mom's cousin's (whose close to our family) son has a daughter named that too.

And I never said my favorite names had to be used for real people, did I? I often give fictional characters those names.

Okay, maybe I did, but still, you're talking to someone who wishes she WAS named Rainbow, which is why I use it as an Internet name.

I'm probably gonna get socked for bumping up a 7-month old thread, but when it comes to naming my kid (if I decide to have one):

Girl: Amara Elise

Boy: Nicholas Clay

I'm probably not changing my mind either. I just love those names. ^^

And if I have a second child:

Girl: Blair (EDIT: Blair Amina)

Boy: Ryan Luke

Okay, I have to say something about this. If it was really such a sin to revive an old topic, don't you think we would just delete the old ones? These topics are here to be discussed. If a user wants to post in it, then they can post, regardless of how active/inactive the topic is. The whole "oh no the mods are gonna eat us alive" idea really needs to stop.

Well, no, I don't mean eaten alive by the mods. I was being slightly sarcastic, and you know how some message board strollers (not necessarily here) can be ("Dude, this thread is so old"... and whatnot).

Hey, it's the only way latecomers like me will be made to pay attention to them.

My favorite girls names are just about anything that ends in "a": Samantha, Serena, Morgana, Sabrina, Clara, Zelda, Glinda, etc. You may notice all those names come from fictional witches. And one name that does not: Shirley, just because it sounds so nice. If I ever have daughters, I'll try to name one Minako or Hotaru or Setsuna though, no matter the heck I'll get from my family.

Male names are much less interesting, and I really don't care for the modern ones, Jacob and Tyler and so forth. If I ever have sons I'll want to name them after my own ancestors: Jack (not John, Jack, it comes from Giacomo) and Charles.

Also, I once heard of someone having the double middle name of Mimsy Borogove, which I thought was the coolest thing ever for naming.
Things I think Are Funny Early in the Morning: If Batman were a Smurf: "Quick, Robin! We must smurf down to the Batcave and smurf the Batplane! Then we must smurf the batsmurf so we can smurf where the Joker is smurfing!"

The Croonerism Spate (explanations upon request)
Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

Well, since Jen and I are planning on having kids a LONG time down the road (8+ years), the idea of baby names has come up. Here's my personal list:

Male:
- Gilberto David (though I fear the stigma of "Jr.")
- Ruben Alejandro (my brothers' middle names)
- Andrew/Andres
- Michael

Female:
- Samantha
- Maria
- Danielle
- David Graña
