OK, I'll bite. What was the first worst book?
Pride and Prejudice. 1984 I read all the way though. I made it to one third of P&P (although I kept skipping a lot of pages) and then gave up. It was without a doubt the worst book I've read. At least 1984
had the torture scenes at the end.
That redeemed it a bit. But the symbolizim in it was so blantly obivous it was like being talked down to.
Winston and Julia get arrested and the snowglobe they had breaks. OH NOES WUT CULD TAHT POSSBLY MEEN????!!!!1111
I am currently reading The Stand by Stephen King. I find it amazing and awe inspiring that he can consistantly deliver highly detailed portraits across a 1200 page tome.

Can anyone reccomend a good book?
Nothing too hard, it's for reading on the beach. But I don't want anything too fluffy either.
I like horror novels and ghost stories ^_^

I read a book called Armegedon Summer about 2 years ago. I thought it was a good read and it's easy to get into. I suggest it.

(Just do a quick google on it... I can't remember the author...)

It is written by Jane Yolen and Bruce Coville; I read this book too and suggest it wholeheartedly.

I've finished reading "IT" by Stephen King. ^^ I'm now starting a book (don't know the main title in English) which contains some short stories by the same author. God, I love this.

Right now, I'm reading Anne of the Island, the third of the eight Anne books in the series. They're great! And pretty light/easy too, though there are some words i should look up...
Also, I'm reading Animal Farm by George Orwell, since I have to read it for school. Not as bad as I thought it might be. I thought:
The title might have referred to something else in a poetical way, like "Animal Farm" meant maybe humans that were being tested for scientific purposes or something. Not true. The cool thing is that there are talking animals. ^ ^ I don't know George Orwell as an author well, so I didn't know what to expect of him. But, he's good so far. And did you know that that's his pen name? His real name is Eric Blair.
Forgetting what my last post said, the most recent books I've been reading have been lesbian novels--two of Mabel Maney's Nancy Clue/Cherry Aimless/Hardly Boys mysteries and now Sarah Waters' Fingersmith.

The Video Game Theory Reader edited by Mark J. P. Wolf and Bernard Perron. The latest addition to my video game book collection. I haven't started reading it yet, it just came in today, but will definitely read it on the plane ride to TX next weekend.

I picked up Ender's Game from my college's bookstore. This will be my second time reading this. Anyone who likes good science fiction should read this book. Their is a whole series of Ender books but this is only one I've read.
Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you''ve got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception.

Having just finished reading Son Of A Witch by Gregory Maguire last night, I'm now starting on A Wizard Of Earthsea by Ursula K Le Guin and I'm reading Wicked for a second time just because it's my favorite book ever!

We're reading Beowulf in english... somebody shoot me.

Just because it's one of the first pieces of literature written down doesn't make it a good book! This is how I summerize the first two chapters: A monster named Grendel is killing people, so Beowulf kills him. Grendel's mom gets pissed and kills some guy, so Beowulf goes after her, and only wins the fight because somehow the dagger hits the only remaining part of his mailcoat still intact, and he wins.

At least we're reading Flower For Algernon later; I freaking love that book.

I'm didn't finished a book yet. It's pretty huge! It's titled "El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha y su Escudero Sancho Panza", "Don Quixote", by Miguel de Cervantes (It was written in the 16th Century but still popular).
It's about a crazy man that believes that he is a mighty knight.
