Well, in case anyone's interested, I just finished watching the second disk of Are You Afraid of the Dark? Season One, and it's terrific with a lot of good episodes. What surprised me the most was that I actually remember a lot of them as I'm watching.

If anyone's interested, you can get it on eBay for under $30 and the shipping is decent, too.

Thanks for this thread, Rin! I'd forgotten all about this show!

I may have to get that. For now, my Adventures of Pete and Pete dvd's will have to do.

They should put this show back on Snick. (Do they even still have that?) But it's probably out dated for the current audience.

i watched one episode when i was 8, and it pretty much tramatized me. i could't sleep for a week. it was the one where vampires moved next door to these people. i never liked vampires as a kid. they were pretty much my biggest fear, and by bad luck the one episode i saw was about vampires. *shiver* bad memories...

Oooh! That's the "Nightly Neighbors" episode that was on the first season! The only thing is I didn't like the ending to that one, but I'm guessing they had to cut it off there because we know what's going to happen anyway... I'm the opposite of you, though; I was obsessed with monsters as a kid.

The one episode that still seemed a little creepy to me was the "Haunted Music", I think it was called, where something weird in the attic came out of the celler whenever music was played.

I think the episode your talking about is called "The Tale of Dark Music."

That's right, thanks! Haunted, dark... Same thing. Not really, but I need some excuse as to why I can't remember titles very well.

Another episode I'm anxious to see is the hospital one, where it turns out the new chick is vampire and almost kills the other girl by dropping from the roof.

Compared to some of the stuff in AYAOTD, SM should have been left pretty much uncut when dubbed.
