I saw Stay Alive today, my dad though it'd be good.

Worst.Movie.Ever.

Bad horror movie cliches, no plot what so ever, dull characters, and more plot holes than you can shake a stick at.

I'm watching Ju:On the Grudge the original right...now! And it seems really like a good film. I hope it will surpass the remake which I think wasn't really worth the money.

EDIT: Okay, so now I've watched it and it was quite frightening x_x Won't sleep very much tonight

I saw John Tucker Must Die!! I really liked it. It was like Mean Girls, only a lot hotter because Jesse Metcalfe was in it instead of Lindsay Loha, lol.

I've never seen the original, but I did see the remake of The Grudge in the theater, and I agree. It was definitely one of the biggest wastes of my time in my movie history. It easily ranks up there in my least favorites ever.

The "plot" was just so, tired and lame... Michelle what's her name couldn't act, her "talent" in it amounted to the fact that her boobs were popping out of her sweater in one scene, and that was it.

The movie was so not scary that when I saw it in the theater I was LAUGHING. I kid you not. And I'm usually pretty wussy when it comes to being scared by horror movies (even though I love em).

Very sad. I was pretty pissed too, cause I LOVED The Ring, and I hoped TG would be as good but it was so incredibly disappointing.

Jup jup ^^° But the first time, the shock effects were effective. The second time: I don't know why I was scared. It was ridiculous. o_O But the original definately creeps me out

The best thing is: I've got Ring 0 and Ring 2 the originals. And I'll watch them now. ^^

The Descent

Just saw this import from the UK in the theater with eager anticipation, and let me just say this is everything a good horror movie should be. Movies like THIS are why its my favorite genre. It started out pretty slow (as many movies like this do), but for like the last 2/3 of the movie my adrenaline was so high it was utterly insane. Being trapped in a cave like this is scary enough alone in itself, add cave ins and the creepy effect of a grainy digital camera with weird lighting and
hungry mutant creatures
and it only makes it more nuts. This movie scared me SHITLESS. I was clinging onto my friend next to me for dear life and I honestly think I screamed a couple times. That never happens to me in movies. I cannot remember being this scared since The Ring, and when I left the theater my heart was beating so fast I felt like I just rode a 1 hour rollercoater at Six Flags. Some of the scares were kinda cheap, but overall it was horror/gore genious. Warning: The US version's ending is cut short, and I think I liked the original better.

Recommended? Hell yeah. A freaking PLUS. Yes.... you read that right. If you like horror/gorey movies you need to see this right now. :)

Open Water

Decided to give this one a shot at home since it was supposed to be good. I felt completely the opposite. I mean, I can see why the critics liked it because I can see what they were trying to do... and I appreciated the camera work, and the premise (being left stranded alone in the ocean), and it COULD have been great. Instead, it was awful. The acting was painfully bad as well as the scripting. The ending was psychologically disturbing, but other than that, skip it. This is a movie that could have been amazing if only they did it right, which they didn't, at all. Seriously I was not even tense at one point throughout the whole movie.

Recommended? Definitely no. C-, and only that good because the camera work kept me interested. For anyone who's not interested in that kinda thing, D-. It even put my friend Will to sleep literally, he's dead on the couch right now, lol.

I saw Sleeping Beauty for the first time in years last night. And I have to say that the fire place scene still gives me the creeps. It's like a childhood fear revisited. I was also suprise at how violent it was when Philip killed the dragon. Ok, it wasn't blood and guts, but things now a days get censored for stuff that no where as bad as that.

Second half of the movie, neither Aurora or Prince Philip said a damn word. In fact, Aurora hardly talks at all.

And Malificent totally rocks as a villian!

Little Miss Sunshine

Forgot about this topic... so late post.

I'd reccomend this to anyone who likes good comedy. ^_^ Steve Carell again proves his comedic prowess in this movie, being a HOmosexual college professer, who's recovering from a suicide attempt. HIs family takes him in, and when his niece is able to compete in the 'Little Miss Sunshine' pagent in LA, they all head out in an old VW Bus.
Aside from Steve Carell's character...

Father: An 'Entrepneur' who is trying to sell his 'Winners and losers' philosiphy. In short, he just is clueless at a lot of scenes. Best: "I detect a hint of Sarcasm tehre. Sarcasm is the language of Losers, who want to bring winners to their level."

Mother: She seems to be the kind that would do anything possible for her family.
Best line: *can't remember. Sorry*

Dwayne: The Son in the family, except here's the difference--He refuses to talk until he is accepted to the Air Force school. He's silent the entire time, and hates his entire family.
Best Scene: *pulls out a notepad* *writes something down, shows to Uncle* Welcome to Hell.

Olive: The 8-year-old daughter, who is entered into the LIttle Miss Sunshine pagent. She's completely innocent minded, so... yeah.
Best: *sitting out at a truck stop* "Olive, jump on the bus!!! We Can't stop!"

Grandpa: An old, single man who is obsessed with porn, telling Dwayne stuff he should do with his life, generally stuff that is not fit for young ears. Also, he has been kicked out of an old-person's home for doing cocaine. Screwed up.
Best: "Dwayne, **** a lota women."
-Adam Picard-
Blake? oh, like a coffee break!!
Poet? What is that? Is it tasty? Is it a popular new snack? Usagi, Stars 179

James: For some reason I'm seeing you in a nurse's uniform...
Steve: Thank you Jeff, that will be all. ... He's not here, is he? Oh God I've internalized him...
-Coupling; The Freckle, the Key, and the Couple who weren't

'Who will tell us about this? Oh, no it is didnt know New Orleans was underwater guy.'
-Jon Stewart, The Daily Show

"Plus, Act now and you'll get the Mood of Dick Cheney! Including Rage, *RANH* Irritability, *RANH* and Mind-Blowing Orgasmic pleasure! *RAAAAANH* Order now!"

I just saw Fun With Dick And Jane and I thought it was really funny. Although I did think it ended a little too abruptly. I was kind of expecting the movie to be a little longer. Oh well, it was still funny.

A long time ago I saw a horror movie that didn't scare me at all; it just disturbed the living heck out of me to the point where I felt icky for days until I mentally surpressed it. A few days ago, a funny think happened; I went to see the remake of it, having forgotten all about it.

This movie is the Wicker Man, and when it got to the end and my memory suddenly jogged of what was going to happen at the end, I bolted out of that theater, and I haven't slept since.

The stuff people can come up with... my god.

I saw the movie a few days ago. I found it... odd. Not really scary or disturbing, just odd...

Well, see, with the way I am, you can throw all the blood and gore at me that you want and I have no problem with it, but
Show me a man betrayed by someone he loves and tortured before he burns to death, then you've got me
This is also why I can't watch Elfen Lied all that often...

I saw Pirates 2 as well. It was pretty good, basically a set-up for the third one but it was a good ride. Jack=love.

Some great lines-

"I've got a jar of dirt, I've got jar of dirt!"- Jack

*Elizabeth pretends to swoon* "Oh, the heat! Someone help me!" *falls down and opens eyes to find them still fighting* "Fine, just go ahead then!" *Sits cross-legged and pouts*

"Where's Jack, we have to save him!"
*Jack runs on-screen in the distance with lots of natives running after him*

I finally saw Shock Treatment! Wooo!

The songs are great, but it makes even less sense then the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and a lot of the time I was staring at just thinking "Huh"? Also... why does Richard 'O Brian always have to have incest in his movies? Yeesh.

Still, the commentary was informative and really funny at some parts.

Last movies I saw recently were the classic Star Wars trilogy (limited edition) and Mystery Men.

There's little that hasn't been said already about Star Wars, George Lucas' epic creation stemming from an original film that borrowed liberally from 1930s Flash Gordon serials and the films of Akira Kurosawa, so I'll not talk about it except to say that Empire is still the best one of the lot. Although I will note that the original synopsis had two bickering bureaucrats--these would eventually become Artoo and Threepio--assisting General Skywalker in his transportation of a princess. That would have been quite interesting to watch (even if The Hidden Fortress is already a stunning film).

Mystery Men, for those who haven't seen it, is a neat little film about a group of wannabe superheroes with abilities as pathetic as their names--the Shoveller (William H. Macy), the (fork-obsessed) Blue Raja (Hank Azaria), Mr. Furious (Ben Stiller), The Spleen (Paul Reubens), Invisible Boy (Kel Mitchell) and The Bowler (Janeane Garofalo). After the first three on the list get their bums kicked repeatedly by various criminals, they recruit the rest and are trained by the ever mysterious Sphynx (Wes Studi), in order to fight the evil Casanova Frankenstein (Geoffrey Rush), who has kidnapped the city superhero, Captain Amazing (Greg Kinnear). It's quite funny, even if it lampoons a style not seen since Batman and Robin or Darkman. And remember: May the forks be with you.
"That new girl? She seems kinda weird to me. And what kind of name is Buffy anyway?"
"Hey, Aphrodisia!"
--unaired Buffy pilot

If you're reading this, then you've lost the game.

I just finished watching "Mocking Bird Don't Sing" in my Social class, and I'm still left feeling icky from it. I'm not saying it wasn't a good movie, it was jsut that it was based after a HORRIBLE true story about a girl named Geanie who was tied to a potty chair in an attic, by her father who hated children and would beat her if she tried to speak, for 13 years until she was discovered.

Mind mind just can't process someone being able to do that to another living being; why not take the easy way out and give her up for adoption?

Jack IS love.

Also, Jack/Elizabeth is one hell of a weird pairing.
The game made me dizzy. ^^;

Haven't seen anything else worthy of note, movie-wise, after that... yet. ^^''
