I'd have to disagree about the Golden Compass. While I enjoyed the books, I found the movie to be quite dry and and forgettable. I dont' know, it just felt like there was something missing in the movie.
Half the time I found myself bored and wondering when the movie would get exciting. For some reason, the movie felt like it was badly edited. And I was really looking foreward to the movie. :/

See, the opposite happened to me. I went out and bought the books, and I haven't even finished the first one because I can't get into it. ^^;Rin wrote:I'd have to disagree about the Golden Compass. Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

And to think it beat Transformers (another movie I liked). That's just... whoa. XDAnimatedEvey12 wrote:Whatever, Golden Compass won an Oscar for its special effects.

This month I've seen Leatherheads and The Forbidden Kingdom. I prefer The Forbidden Kingdom over Leatherheads.

I went to see Prom Night with my friends, mainly to make fun of it. And oh the fun we made =D The characters were as dumb as dirt, and every move of the psycho killer was predictable (except, of course, to the dumb characters). It was actually suspensful, so everyone in the theater would collectively scream, then collectively laugh because nothing actually happened. It's THE best movie to make fun of without wanting to kill yourself.

I saw Iron Man it was all right. Although I am really looking forward to The Dark Knight. *sigh* Christian Bale.

Iron Man: The final four words (pre-credits) are the greatest words ever uttered in a superhero movie--the superhero equivalent of the final line of Some Like It Hot.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: Gotta have the funniest swordfight ever.

I saw the spiderwick chronicles last night
I liked it. It felt like a cross between Harry Potter and Jumanji.
Guess I gotta read the books now

I just got home from seeing Wall-E. It was amazing. It was a very good mix of classic storytelling with little dialog relying on using interactions and reactions, combined with modern animation techniques and themes. It blended together very well for an experience unlike any other, a nice mix of nostalgia and Pixar-quality animation. I don't want to ruin the film for any of you so I won't talk about what it's about, but I whole-heartedly recommend that y'all go see it.

Same, I might go see it tomorrow. Well I attempted to watch The Haunted Mansion, and oh god, I remember I rented the movie and didn't like it and I tried to watch it again but I had to turn off the TV because it was so bad.Alexclow345 wrote:I want to see Wall-E so bad. The Machine Girl. Considering it has a girl in it with a machine gun for an arm and a woman with a drill bra it's pretty entertaining. Unfortunately I've only seen the dubbed version (thanks uncle) but it was an impressive dub. I mean how many violent japanese films can you say Jason Griffiths and Dan Green have dubbed? 4kids dubbers! shocking.

Just saw Wall-E, and I will join everyone by saying it was amazing :] It didn't need dialogue to make you fall in love with the characters or to follow the story. Good message, adorable ending. GO SEE IT.
