On this week's episode of The Simpsons, a teaser trailer aired for the upcoming Simpsons movie.

The trailer itself spoofed the Superman Returns movie.

This would be pretty exciting..... if it were 10 years ago. The Simpsons is well past their prime, Fox should just let it die off already. I know it's the show that made Fox hit the big time, but it's time to give other shows the chance to shine.

My expectations for the movie, I'll have to admit, is that this may be the "final episode" of the series, and if they want to end it, they might as well end it on a bang!

Derek and I wondered the same thing...we thought maybe it was the final show.

Just watched it on youtube because Global (the Canadian station that airs Simpsons up here) didn't show it.

Wow, that was so exciting */sarcasm*

I mean come on. I know it's a teaser trailer, and teaser's are supposed to be really short, but at least do something that might genirate interest in this movie. I cry now T_T

Sadly, that's not true. The movie is coming out between two seasons, so the show is still going on even after the movie.

I saw the trailer for it at youtube.com and I have to say if the trailer is any indication of what the movie is going to be like then I'm not really impressed. I really do like the idea of having a Simpsons movie but a trailer is supposed to get you exicited about the film and I didn't feel any sense of exicitement about it at all after watching the trailer. The joke they used wasn't even remotely funny and to be honest I thought it was kind of lame. I might still check it out when it's released simply because I've been wanting them to produce a Simpsons movie for forever, but I'm not abosuletly dying to see this.

Contrary to what's been posted above me, I'm DYING to see this.

I've been an avid fan of The Simpsons for most of my life.
i even remember the shorts that were aired on the Tracy Ullman show when my Dad forced me to sit on the couch and watch.
I think I was 3 or so.

Heh.

But yeah, I think it's just pretty damn awesome that they've finally made a movie.

Honestly, I just think that The Simpsons is a really good show.

I personally think the Simpsons should just die already, too. I mean, how long has that show been on the air? 17 years? That's like... About as old as I am. T_T; The movie should just let it end, no questions asked. Everyone who are Simpsons fans can just buy the DVDs, with the old episodes and a few of the new episodes that might have been all right to watch. Because seriously... This show has just been played to DEATH.

I actually thought the clips were kind of funny (especially the first one). Hopefully this means the movie will be good.

I read an interview with Groening where he basically indicated that the show was going to continue indefinitely for now.

I love the Simpsons, and I think there will be a lot of good episodes in the future, and every time somebody says "jumped the shark" baby Jesus cries.
