I'm sure tobacco companies do have demographics for stuff like that. It's all about successful marketing (sorry, i'm currently taking a marketing class ^^).

I know this though, most everyone here in Las Vegas buys packs of cigarrettes. I've never seen someone roll their own (unless it was illegal like marijuana).

Also, when I was in Pearson, Georgia, NO ONE SMOKED. It was crazy. What was the catch? They all chewed tobacco. When you went into the convienence store, you wouldn't see cigarrette displays, they were chew displays. Heck, you'd even see like 12 year olds chewing like it was NOTHING. That was shocking for me (for one, seeing ANYONE chew was kind of a culture shock for me, nonetheless a 12 year old) but down there it wasn't anything special....

Alcohol-I've tried some beer, when I was in Europe two years ago, with my father's supervision (he's a bartender). I'm not addicted to it though. I also believe that the drinking age in the U.S. should be lowered down to 18. I also think it's stupid how in colleges it's like WOOOO DRINKING AT FRAT PARTIES!!!! and irresponsible how some (not all) college age students will binge drink and then barf. My dad believes that if the drinking age is higher, more kids just want to experiment and drink irresponsibly and also get older "friends" to get alcohol for them. I knew this one time this girl told me she was against lowering the drinking age, I then find a profile of hers and it says this-Put this in your profile if the closest you'll ever get to a 4.0 is your blood alcohol level. o_O Uhhhhh, can you say hypocrite?

Tobacco-Most of my mother's side of my family are heavy smokers. My grandmother died from being a heavy smoker herself. She spent the last year of her life tied up to an oxygen machine and NEVER taking a step outside for her final year alive. I would not think of trying Tobacco because of quickly you can get addicted to it.

Marijuana-Should be legalized. Mainly for the medical reasons that can help AIDS patients, anorexics, arthritis patients, etc. I also think that people should smoke it leisurely if they choose to.

As for other drugs, I agree about the War on Drugs<---it's a waste of tax money and is taking up a lot of space in jails all over. It was the person's choice to try the drug and take more and more of it. The key as many have already said is moderation.
