... This is going to sound horrible of me, but I though he was already dead.
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.
-- Jonathon Crane/The Scarecrow Rise of Sin Tzu novel

well, then I should feel even more terrible, becuase I didn't even know who he was.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Same here; when I saw it on SNL yesterday, I thought it was an old episode, but lo and behold, Larry King was showing old clips of his interviews with him.

I didn't think he was. Imdb says it was Desmond Wilson who played the son, but Pryor was one of the writers on the show.

Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

I really didn't know much about the man's work, but I am sorry that he passed on.

Didn't he play in one of the Superman movies? I keep thinking I saw him in one.

Edit: I did! Superman III He didn't do too bad in that one.

I know who Richard Pryor was but I'm not that familar with his acting or stand up. He was especially famous for his foul-mouthed material in his stand up. Because at the time, that kind of material wasn't widely accepted. He's also probably the first black stand up comedian to make it big.

Yeah he was in Superman III. I first heard of him there.

The only other movie I've seen with him that I can recall is "See no Evil, Hear no Evil". It was a comedy about two guys- one was blind and the other was deaf. I believe Richard Pryor played the blind guy. I forgot who else starred in it. I saw it so long ago and only once. So it's a blur.
