-_- Dude, they're all over the movie, not just on the poster. In every movie, you see those symbols flash on the screen. It's coding. If you look at it, it's a mixture of letters, numbers, symbols, kana, etc. It's meant to be the computer coding of the matrix.Sakuya wrote:I just noticed this. For some of the movie posters where there are rows of green characters on a black background as well as the title of the movie? Well, those green characters seems to be the Japanese katakana characters only flipped. Why is that?
Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

This movie was disappointing to me.
To me it was LOTS of eye candy, then a bit of plot thrown in for good measure. The ending justs screams "SEQUEL ME!! SEQUEL MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!"
I mean, it was a mixed audience at the showing I went to. Either you thought it was great, loved it, they couldn't have done better. Or you're like me and you would have been willing to wait a couple more months for a better thought out ending. I for one would have taken the 'Trinity and Neo live happily ever after' ending rather than the 'Neo becomes Jesus and sacrifices himself for the human race' ending. I half expected the wife of the French guy to ask for the head of Morpheus.
And the whole oracle having a new face thing, WOW. It didn't need to be explained. How would one like it in an Anime if a voice actor got changed and every minute they said 'Sorry guys, I got this frog in my throat'
And the final fight was lovely, except it looked like it should belong in a Superman movie.
It wasn't a BAD movie, it was just a huge let down.

I for one, thought it didn't scream "sequel me" at all. I thought it was very good closure, as I said before.
And the "trinity and neo live happily ever after" ending...? That would disappoint me, I think. The original ending was sad, but I think that if they went back to Zion and wereall happy lovey dovey, i'd be like "how typical."
And I'm glad they threw in an explanation for the new oracle, becuase Derek and I didn't know the actress had died. So we were sitting there going "WTF?! THAT'S NOT THE ORACLE", and we had no clue what was going on. so i'm thankful that they at least threw it into the plot for those of us who were confused.

Well, I must concede a bit, I would have said 'I was so expecting that' if they had done Neo and Trinity living happily ever after. But It would have been more acceptable to me if all (or a majority) of the machines had been destroyed, the sky started to break and people started climbing out from Zion, looking up at the sky for the first time.Tifftime for more disagreements ^^;;

THAT would have been much more fufilling to me. I mean, since Trinity's death was in fact my favorite part of the movie, I'd say she could still die and everything would've worked out fine.
As for the sequel, the Oracle said something along the lines of "We'll see him again" to that kawii-toxic little girl. If the matrix still exists, then naturally that mistake that kept creating Neo will happen again won't it?
Oh! And another thing that bothered me; to fully understand where things were in the beginning, you'd HAVE to have played "Enter the Matrix" It explains everything Jada briefly stated in the movie, and it goes more in depth to her character, whom was more important than the movies eluded to. They really could have kept the Niobe kissing the Frenchman's wife scene... but it explained that Niobe was really in love with Morpheus, if the average movie goer couldn't figure that out from the movies.

I think they handdled the New Oracl thing very well considering what had happned to the first one and I think many people would have wanted a reason if they hadn't given one but becuase they have some are saying there wasn't a need for one ( it hink it the case they wouldn't have won either way with it)
The ending was left open for another moive yet at teh same time can be just the ending as it stands

Well, that would have been very cool indeed. I still liked the ending allright. I sat there with my mouth wide open going "He's dead? He's not dead. he can't be dead." because it shocked me. I honestly didn't expect that to happen.MiyukiMoon wrote:

And just becuase that mistake will happen again doesn't mean there will be a sequel. It just leaves it up to you.
And I thought the Niobe/Morpheous thing was pretty damn obvious, myself.

My only comments right now are the following:
- Dialog was bad, bad, bad ><. Lines like "I never finished basic training!" "Neither did I..." Seemed to me like there was a lot of "buddy-buddy"-ism, and a lot of sentimentality that was killed by wretched writing. The one captain that kept cursing - why? And what happened to Smith? The actor REALLY seemed to force his lines.
- The mech battle, while cool as hell, was a bit drawn out for my taste. I got the message after the battle kept going on and on and on...it should have focused more on Neo, IMO.
- The ending...it wrapped things up...and it didn't. It wasn't necessarily "sequel-worthy", but it left too many unanswered questions for my taste. I would have preferred something definitive,
like Cowboy Bebop's ending
, to what was shown.
Highlights:
- Deus Ex Machina: cool as hell.
- Breaking through the clouds: nice foreshadowing :)
- Neo/Smith: Aw yeah. Awesome, AWESOME fight, IMO. The perfect "final boss" encounter ;)
That's all for now. I need to re-watch all 3 together - along with the Animatrix - to gain a clearer understanding of the whole thing and post something a lot more coherent.

XD yes, all of those things were just awesome. And Derek and I watched the first two right before we went to see the third one, because a lot of the stuff I just couldn't remember.Starscream wrote:Highlights:

Just a brief post: here's a link to an article on IGN: http://filmforce.ign.com/matrix/article ... ?fromint=1
Basically, it says that lackluster box office sales + online piracy might force Revolutions to come out on DVD before Christmas, and even then it might have to be packaged as a box set in order to have any sort of decent sales.
As for the ongoing debate ... well, I think I've already given my 2 cents (and then some). It is interesting to see how most people here didn't like certain parts but liked certain others, whereas Tiff and I seem to be on the extreme (and opposite) ends of the scale.

I just got to go see it last ngiht, (I know late aren't I?)
I loved it!!!
The machiene battle, WOW!!! I was on the edge of my seat with Niobe driving,
Niobe: Keep up!
Morpheous: I'm trying! (tee hee)
The real capitain of the hammer: damn that woman can drive!
I loved that!
Smith and Neo: Eh.... I was looking forward to that scene, but I dunno, it just kept going, smith would hit neo, neo would hit smith... etc on and on.. That scene alone disappointed me. I liked the flying thing, but that was about it. There just was soemthgin about it I didn't like.
And I did in teh middle of the machiene battle, lean ovre to my bf and ask, what about Neo and Trinity?
ANd when Trinity did die, I cried.... I know I"m a softy, but I cried, I had to hide if from Joe, cause if he saw me crying, he'd make fun of me... haha. I coudln't help it, her speech just... moved me I guess.
Trinity: "The last thing I said was I"m sorry, and that was my last thought. I didn't want that. I wanted to tell you how much I love you, how grateful I am to have been able to be with you........ ... Kiss me." and then she dies... I just thought NOOOOOOO!!!!
Trinity is my favorite character, I love her, and I was mad to see her die!
I think there may be a fourth, but I don't think it could be called the Matrix. I relaly don't. pry Zion or seomthgin like that, and maybe focus more on Morpheous and Niobe.
And what will the commander think? (the guy Niobe was with before all that) I mean, what would be his reaction?
Okay that's all for my un-Godly long post!! hha

Left here alone, and unsure of what I feel. Unclear, but I see, Just what I'm afraid of.
I can't find my way anymore. And I cannot heal the wounds I've created. I can't let let go of whats killing me
Falling from this edge, I am lost to all I know
I can't breathe anymore Somehow I'm locked inside this cage And I've tried, but I cant Fight to stay alive
Falling from this edge, I am lost to all I know Time is only Fantasy And lies, the only reverie.
I've tried But I can't fight anymore.
I've Fallen from this edge, I am lost to all I know Time is only Fantasy And lies, the only reverie.

Sorry for going off topic here didn't want to satrt a new thread for somethign as silly as this
Story behind the photo you will see someone on a froum told us that she can't sleep on buses well they put the atrix on ( school trip you see) and she feel alseep here you go
Anyway I think Hugo Weavering ( Smith) was just boared out of his mind by the time they were fliming this hence why his lines may have sound I really don't want to do this anymore
Niobe lines when she was flying that ship were quite funny.
4th moive something like the animatirx ( so amyn stopires wraping everything up nicely) would be better then a live action moive in my opoinon
