Mechacon 2005

Post by Ai no Shinobi » Wed Aug 03, 2005 6:27 am

Hello everyone, it's Mechacon's resident Ninja of Love...wha? You ask what is Mechacon? Well, let me enlighten!

Mechacon is and Anime/Transformers/Japanese Cultural Event put together by a group of people, Senin Productions, LLC., who love...well...anime, Transformers, and Japanese Culture. An anime convention like no other in the gulf coast. Taking place in Lafayette,Louisiana on August 26-28.

If you are an anime fan, come out and meet some of our special guest VA's. Sceduled to show are Tiffany Grant (Asuka from Evangelion), Alec Willows (Tarantulus from TF:Beast Wars), Doug Smith (Kintaro from Golden Boy), and Joshua Seth (Tai from Digimon). All our VA's have a hefty number of titles under their belts so they are in no way shape or form limited to the select characters and shows I've listed here.

For the Transformer's fans out there, we bring you two world premier exclusives to only be found at Mechacon.

Transformers The Movie: Reconstructed.
The special edition wide screen format of the TF Movie like you've never seen and we have it first anywhere in the world!

Transformers: Takara - The Headmasters
The first official english subtitled showing of the Japanese series.

Neither of these two world premier's would not be possible without help from our friends at Metrodome Distribution and TV-Toonland.

Finally, for you Japanese Culture fans, we have something spiffy. For those lucky pre-regisrtant and dinner participants, we have a semi-formal/asian attire themed dinner with none other than Consul General of Japan, Masaru Sakoto, as well as our other distinguished guests. You will also be able to find kendo demonstrations, bonsaid panels, GO panels, and much more.

If ya'll are interested, please check out the site at www.mechacon.com for more information.

A little aside, my name is Van and I'm Mechacon's Video Room Coordinator. I'm in charge on what plays in our video rooms. Sneaky ninja that I am, I'm trying to get in some Sailor Moon goodies onto the screens if I can, including PGSM as well as a SeraMyu showing. Wish me luck, and hope to see you there.

I'm really trying not to be rude about this, but there have been several broken rules here.

Please do not double post. Please use the edit button and mend your first one rather than just making two in a row. This should have been in the members forum, not offtopic. This seems to be a promotion topic. I'm not too clear if this counts as a promotion for one's work (the second one is definatly promotion for a site, which is not allowed.) .
I'm locking this topic. If the other staff feels that the inital post is harmless then I'll reopen it and move it to the member's area.

And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.
