Countdown to Revenge of the Sith

Post by DuoTheShinigami02 » Tue May 10, 2005 10:18 pm

From what I've read, RotS could be very well be the best of the New School Star Wars Trilogy (given that TPM and AotC received mixed reviews).

It's supposed to be darker than Empire Strikes Back, it could very well justify the PG-13 rating it received.

What are your thoughts?

For me, it's, "I'll watch it on the release date!"
"After all these years, you know it's not about control. It's about trying to do everything I can. And for you, it's about setting an example. Everyone looks up to you. They listen to you. If you tell them to fight, they'll fight. But they need to be inspired, and let's face it, 'Superman'...the last time you really inspired anyone... was when you were dead." -- Batman, to Superman, Infinite Crisis, issue 1

I wasn't that big on the first two, but this one looks badass. It looks promising. I'm crossing my fingers.

Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Me and my other classmates are exicted about this. We all think it's pretty sweet that we graduate the same time a huge saga like Star Wars ends. Most of us are going to see it at midnight when it premiers.

Personally, from seeing the trailers, I think there's too much CGI, however, the story does look badass and will probably end up being a really great movie.

Personally, after seeing the horror that was Episode One, I've made it my sole mission to completely forget that the new Star Wars ever exisited. I just didn't want to have anything to do with the other new movies, but since the new trilogy is finally coming to an end, I might decide to check out the other two out of curiosity. However, I won't be seeing this movie in theaters. I'll just wait for it to be released on DVD. This may be slightly off-topic here, but has anyone else heard about the upcoming Star Wars TV show? I thought that was really strange that Lucas is going to be producing one. I had always been hoping for a Star Wars TV show, but now that it's actually going to be produced, it just feels strange. o.O

I remember seeing Ep 1 just cause I was curious. I didn't care for Ep 2 but a friend showed it to me on DVD last week so I'm going to see 3 for completion's sake.

Oddly enough I realized I kinda liked it...

SQUUUEEEEE!!! Apparaently the only way people can see Episode three on its priemer date at the theatre my friends are going to is to order them over the internet with a credit card. Me and many others can't do that and were pretty miffed about it, but my English teacher said that she'd buy them for those who can't order them and we'd pay her back. Huzzah!

Some of the people that are going are going to dress up as characters. I'm not that much of a nerd, but I'll probably put my hair up in Princess Leia buns.

There has been a Star Wars TV show.

Sadly, it was badly animated and bad in general, and it was on Cartoon Network.

Needless to say, it sucked.

I'm probably not going to see the 3rd movie, even though I am an extreme star wars nerd *I read the books sold at Barnes & Noble, the series after Return of the Jedi* because the last two were so horrid. if this one seems to be good, then I may see it. to me, it just seems to be just an onslaught of special effects with little to no plot, except for what has already been guarenteed, which would be Palpatine & Anakin destroying all the remaining Jedi except Obi-wan & Yoda. and Yoda looks bad too... I prefer how he looked in the original triliogy. Anakin also turning into Vader, and possibly Padme pregnant with Luke & Leia. I don't know, it depends on the timeline. I'd honestly prefer this movie to be written by authors of some of the good books out, since Lucas seems to be obsessed with special effects rather than quality... this is just IMO, and I'm hoping I'll be proven wrong about Episode III.

The animated Star Wars? You mean the cartoon network clone wars thing? I heard it was good. I never watched it. Anywho, Star Wars is on my birthday. WOO. Camping out in front of a theatre anyone? =D

Not camping out in front of the theater, but I may try and pick up tickets for the opening show next week if our grad student group still has any available. While the first two movies were sub-par, I'm still very interested in watching this last one; it seems to be so much darker and more serious than the last two, and I'm very interested in seeing just what it is that pushes young Anakin over to the Dark Side, something we're never really privy to in the movie canon.

Actually, I was referring to two other upcoming Star Wars TV shows. According to this article I read on Yahoo (the link is too long to post and I don't know how to do that link thingie), it said that two new Star Wars TV shows were going to be produced. One was going to be a new CGI animated series based on the Clone Wars and the other is going to be a live-action spin-off series....

The Star Wars Holiday Special was on Cartoon Network? Man, talk about poor programming choices!

(yes, there was such a thing. Yes, it had an animated segment. Yes, the animation was pretty poor. And yes, it was exceptionally bad. Two HOURS of utter dreck that featured a large amount of growling, Mark Hamill in makeup and Carrie Fisher singing. REALLY badly.)

Actually, I have the Clone Wars DVD. I actually liked it...although I didn't buy into the crystal bit.

Didn't Clone Wars receive an Emmy?

Yeah, I'm really excited about going to see Star Wars Episode 3.
I saw the last three, but I never saw the first two, for some reason.
However, this movie looks REALLY COOL.

I can't WAIT to go see it.

That it did. Also for anyone interested, to hype up the movie, Toonami tonight is airing the entire Clone Wars series in one sitting. Should be a good way to get ready for the movie just days later.

My dad just downloaded demos of Republic commando and Jedi Academy. If you've played academy, you know what I mean. it's fun, and since I've gotten far in Jedi Outcast on the JEDI MASTER mode *hardest, pain in the ass actually* I do fairly well. and Dual-bladed sabers are AWSOME. 8) I think my family might rent the movie when it's avalible, but I'm probably not going to see it in theatres.
