I honestly could care less about the Miley Cyrus thing honestly not my generation or type of music so more power to them if they are trying to break the pop mold. Would I let my daughter do such a thing? Probably not till she was old enough to pay her own way in the world (well if I ever have a girl) But thats the way I parent and I dont expect everyone to be the same. I guess its their way to make it in the world and only time will tell if this works out or not for Miss Cyrus.
That second story is just as bad as the first to me, look no matter what the excuse is long distance away from each other or no, incest is wrong. A daughter sleeping with her father or father sleeping with his daughter producing children only end up hurting said children. Same for mothers and sons, its complete madness to me how anyone could even think to consent to such a relationship. And to many harsh factors can happen to all involved especially children formed from such unions. Not just emotionally but there are a number of genetic defects or illnesses that could have happened. Maybe its me but I just get grossed out thinking about it, its not about sexual hang ups its about write and wrong. Most little girls do idolize their dads but theres a big difference in thinking the world of your dad and wanting to hop into bed with them and that line should never be crossed for any reason IMO.
"Have you been half asleep? And have youve heard voices?
I hear them calling my name."
Is this the sweet sound, that calls the young sailors?
The voice maybe one in the same.
Ive heard it too many times to ignore it,
its something that I sposed to be..
Someday we''''ll find it, the rainbow connection
The lover, the dreamer, and me..."

True. It seems that in the USA we're being more sensitive about nudity/sexual content. Last year, Dakota Fanning was in a movie in which one scene involved her being raped and people were freaking out about it, they even considered it child pornography which I disagree because she's acting that she's being raped and she's not going all wild and stripping in front of the camera. Pretty much when the USA is sensitive to certain topics I go 'WTF?'

I think that I would be more sensitive about the rape than Miley's back. I mean, even just the thought of a child being raped is disturbing and kind of upsets me. I really wouldn't want to watch it on TV, real or not. I wouldn't make a big fuss over it, but I probably would not watch that movie. Heck even an adult being raped is disturbing...
How old is Dakota by the way?

You know, the discussion is seriously getting to be rather weird. Incest? Rape? I suppose that's par for the course in this thread, but it makes
this video look normal.
Saying that fundies are hard for teen girls is a running joke on FSTDT (mainly concerning "Brother" Randy Ross of Teens-4-Christ fame). But then along come videos like that, where the father not only has a chart that states how much his daughters love him, but also notes that they are growing fast AND gives them rings AND takes them to a ball as a "date"?....yeah. Ick.
"That new girl? She seems kinda weird to me. And what kind of name is Buffy anyway?"

This made me crack right the hell up. Yet another thing to blame on the media industry/music.
When they got home, Mrs Bond told Hannah to go to bed, adding that they would discuss the matter in the morning.
The teenager turned to her and said: "I feel like killing myself."
Breaking down in tears, Mrs Bond told the inquest: "I think I said: 'Don't be so silly — we'll talk about it in the morning.'"
An hour later, Mrs Bond went into her daughter's bedroom at the family home in East Peckham, near Maidstone, and found Hannah's lifeless body hanging from the metal railing of the top bunk.
So you knew your child cut herself and was showing all the warning signs of depression/suicidal thoughts...but yet when she expressed the want to commit suicide, you ignored it? Then chose to blame "emo music"?
Yeah, fuck off lady. That = bad parenting.
EDIT: The original article has been taken down..so I found a different link.

...Wow. Um, ok. People don't kill themselves to be cool. Really, they don't. Obviously something else was going on here. I have 2 close friends who self-harm, and trust me, they don't do it because of "emo music". This is why it's so important for people to be educated about the signs of depression/suicide.

WTF Amazon.com?
I fully expect scalpers and people selling Heath Ledger/Joker figures second hand to charge some ridiculous price, seeing Amazon.com charge $66 for it makes me want to bash my head into the wall.
Canada hasn't gotten any Batman stuff yet, but we should soon. I am so glad I work nightshift at Wal-Mart. I can get it right before the store opens and at 10% off. Awwww yeah.

No. Just no.
Breastfeeding, IMO, should stop when the child begins to develop teeth and can eat all solid food.
This is just disgusting, IMO. An 8 year old is way too fucking old to be latch onto mom's nipple.

That's just wrong. Kids shouldn't be sitting at a table drawing pictures of their mom's boobs and talking about the nicknames they made up for them. Lady, you can give your kids emotional support and comfort without breastfeeding. I think she's doing more harm than good. =/

Weird about the breast feeding. I know my uncle's wife had breast fed all of her kids until they were about five.

Ummm... that's really, really gross. I don't see how that situation could possible be beneficial to those kids in the long run (or even in the short term!). It seems more like the mother is having major letting-go issues. She seemed very pleased with how much her kids love her boobs...

Y'know, it's funny. I didn't think the new
Indiana Jones movie was meant to be a documentary, or a "fair" portrayal of the Communists in the 1950s. Here I thought it was just supposed to be a good popcorn flick. Silly me. /sarcasm
