This proves my theory that Humans are in reality the dumbest animals on earth. You don't see dolphins in wars or calling for the execution of a fellow dolphin for naming som kelp Jesus.

Well ive never thought of myself as the brightest bulb in the bunch but I dont think it proves all humans are dumb. Just the scientific theory that many humans as they become older have short term memory problems. Heck as you age even long term memory can be a problem. I know at 30 I have memory problems already and its inherited. And while yeah this is a world full of ignorant beings that practice dumbassery on high levels there are still some very intelligent eloquent and geniunely bright ones out there that give me hope for mankind.

hehe yeah I put in big words ^_^
"Have you been half asleep? And have youve heard voices?
I hear them calling my name."
Is this the sweet sound, that calls the young sailors?
The voice maybe one in the same.
Ive heard it too many times to ignore it,
its something that I sposed to be..
Someday we''''ll find it, the rainbow connection

Eh, having poor short term memory doesn't make one stupid.

Way to totally miss the point of the article.
He thinks two factors gave his chimps the edge. For one thing, he believes human ancestors gave up much of this skill over evolutionary time to make room in the brain for gaining language abilities.

The other factor is the youth of Ayumu and his peers. The memory for images that's needed for the tests resembles a skill found in children, but which dissipates with age. In fact, the young chimps performed better than older chimps in the new study. (Ayumu's mom did even worse than the college students).

Yeaaaah. I gotta agree.

I also have to wonder why we're comparing apples to oranges. Comparing a chimp having good short term memory to the issue in Sudan is just....what?

K first of all there isnt a punishment I can think of right now that would equal what that guy should suffer for doing this. But what really burns me about this is the woman called 911 told them what was happening and their response is "we dont have a unit to send there?" wtf? bad neighboorhood asside you dont tell someone who tells you they are a hostage with a child that you cant send a unit out period, thats just bullshit. Im glad they responded to the store manager but its still fucked up beyond belief that they didnt respond to the inital call, maybe that child wouldnt have been riddled with bullets had they come in the first place.

Damn my head hurts from that story :x

Yeah I thought that was pretty fucking weird myself. Okay, there's a child and mother shot...and yo ucan't send a car? Okay, thanks for your help, bye! =D

I've heard a lot of stories of 911 people putting people on hold for a long time, or dropping the call..*shakes head*

Dolphins would also be able to foretell the end of the world. But the thing they'd call a farewell message is something we'd call "a highly sophisticated attempt to perform a double backflip through a hoop while whistling 'The Star Spangled Banner'."

The message, of course, would really be So long, and thanks for all the fish.

I was wondering if you'd get that one.

Now on to healing the world. I recommend starting by getting rid of these families' cash flows. Preferably by methods illegal.
