Is American idol FAKE!!!!!!!!!

First off I like to say that I am NOT an American Idol fan! I don't watch it but my sister loves it and tells me all about it!

Well anyway my sister was telling me about the past winners and they all seem that the been pick by race!!!

E.X Kelly Clarkson; White girl

Ruben S. ; Black male

Clay A. - ( My sister loves this guy for some reason) Didn't win but was real popluar, he was to win my sis says!; White Guy

Fantasia - black girl ; my sis let me hear one of her songs and she is a terriable Singer (no Offense to anyone that is her fan)
and there were more black women in that series

Last - most of them have Latin last names. ????

I'm not trying to make this a race war or anything I just saying doesn't it seem weird that a different race seems to win every year?
I mean if a latin person wins that got to tell you something?
( not saying that latin people bad singers)

What do you all think? Please if I offend anyone, I'm Sorry ; I'm not trying to start anything!!!

I must admit I don't see the point to this thread because I could swear I've seen a topic about this already.

Though I'll still answer your question by saying I don't care which "race" (ugh) wins as long as the person is a good singer.

One could start wondering indeed if the judges maintain a good "race" ratio (meaning, each "race" has the same number of winners) with crappy singers just for the sake of it when there are obvious better singers.

Bwah. Anyway, remember this: in that kind of show the selling reason will always be. Whatever the "race", if the girl/boy is hotter, or is whatever will make him/her sell more, this person will will no matter what! *sadly*

So, if all the winners were the same race, then would it be better? What you're saying seems to me to be more based on race than what they do.

I like wachting Amercain Idol ( a TV channle shows it over here) I think that amercan has such a huge mixture of culture that that your bond to get get some people fomr a set cultuer more so then other cultuers at anyone time. And it's better then the english one I don;'t think I;ve ever seen another cultuer other then a "white person" get into the TV final's or inot the top 5.

And as Akarui Kibuno it's more to do wiht who look's the hottess then who can sing.

Sorry, but I don't know where you get off saying that american idol is fake when you don't even watch it. Then you try and justify some type of race factor when you don't even know what you're talking about. Would you write a academic paper without doing research and expect to do well? No, and this is the same principle.

The simple fact of the matter is this, on the first season, Kelly Clarkson was the best singer, hands down. On the second seasons, Clay and Rueben were the best singers. Fantasia won because not only does she sing well, but her voice is unique. It has nothing to do with the show being fixed.

I quite agree. What the hell? I don't really watch this show, but the times I DO catch it..you can clearly tell who has natural talent and can carry a tune from the people who should never sing professionally...ever. And it's pretty clear their picks have nothign to do with race. The judges panel is perfectly balanced.

Why the hell are you complaining abuot a show you don't even watch?

Okay, what the hell? A person of Latino/Latina heritage shouldn't win or something? What the hell does your statement MEAN? "If a latin person wins, doesn't that kinda hint something?" No, tell me, Oh wise one. What does it mean?

If a person wins, it means they have talent. Their race is SECONDARY. You are, in my opinion, quite the bigot. How the hell do you justify saying something like that? And the show has been on for what..three years? Give the damn thing a chance to have a history before you start accusing it of being rigged based on race.

You have the most racist statements in this thread so far. What is your fixation on the latin people? You so far, have targeted that one race THREE TIMES in your thread.

You probably saw it at imdb. The unmodded place where jackasses can post any bigoted/racists/ignorant post they want bashing any group of people.

I'm not seeing how American Idol is fake. Of the three winners we have, according to you, White Girl, Black Male, and Black Female. People could agrue that it's fake and fixed so that Black people win more than white people, or you could have people argue that it's fixed so that women win more than men to make it less sexist. You can have people argue a million different theories on how and why it's fixed no matter what combination the winners are. No matter what gender and/or race wins, there will always be people saying it's biased and fixed, and the majority of these arguments will make no sense. Occasionally there'll be a situation where it's a well found argument, but so far I've seen none for American Idol.

From what I can gather from your posts, you're saying that if any race wins American Idol, that means they're being racist towards all the other races? I can only think of one thing to say to that and that's, "What the heck?" While attractiveness may play a small factor in the judges' decision as to who wins American Idol, one's race doesn't. The candidates are chosen to win not because of their race, but they're chosen because somebody out there thought they had talent.

And what motive would the judges have to be racist, anyway? As far as I know, Randy is the only American Idol judge who's African American, while Paula and Simon are both Caucasian, with Paula being American and Simon being British. If the judges are racist, wouldn't it make more sense for them to vote for a Caucasian because there's more Caucasian judges than of any other race? If the judges are racist, why would they be more favorable to another race that's not their own? That'd be like they were being racist towards themselves and that would make no sense at all. And if you don't even watch American Idol, how do you even know how the candidates in American Idol are judged? How can you tell if the judges even seem like they're being racist? I mean, if they are racist, shouldn't you be able to tell that they are from the way they act or look at somebody? So, if you don't watch the show, how do you know if they're racist or not and know how they judge the candidates?

You guys are forgetting the audience (the "people" of America) decides on who wins, not the judges...

And there HAS been some race controversy in AI mentioned in the past. Not what this person who made the topic is talking about though... which I'm not quite clear on. o_O Last season one week when all of the black female singers were in the bottom 3 (and IMO the three were the BEST ones there). And even the audience was surpised. They were booing and shit, I think it came up on the news too. But who knows. Besides Fantasia won in the end, though I think LaToya should've made it further and won. And from the first two seasons, actually I prefered Tamyra Grey and Kimberly Locke. felt their voices were better. But hey American voted, so you have Kelly and Ruben, who are talented too.

The only parts of the show that might be somewhat staged are during the preliminary rounds with the bad singers. You see, this is what I heard and it makes sense. Not everyone who auditions sings in front of Paula, Simon, and Randy. Some other judges see them perform first. And then they decide whether or not they want to show their audition in front of the 3 other judges. And they also have some input as to decide whether or not to show it on tv.

As for what's shown on tv, ever notice how most of the early auditions they show are either good or down right horrible? They also have segments where the judges.. namely Simon tell the bad singers to go out and prove they're a better singer or whatever. I can't remember exactly what it was that made it appeared set up though.

But the voting and outcome isn't fake or staged, because as I said, viewers are the ones who vote.
