Hello. This is Mr. Free Speech.
Now this, this is Mr. Anvil.
Mr. Free Speech, meet Mr. Anvil.
*squish*
I don't know whether to laugh at the sheer asinine nature of all of this, or weep in disgust.
I am metaphorically at a lack for words...

Well, looking back at the article, it's gotta be BOTH Columbine and the USA PATRIOT Act.Sailorasteroid wrote:I would say this is more a result of the Columbine and other school shootings than 9/11. It's certainly not a PATRIOT Act case.
Note the key word, "terrorist".
Dylan and Eric are very bad, but did the press call them terrorists?
"After all these years, you know it's not about control. It's about trying to do everything I can. And for you, it's about setting an example. Everyone looks up to you. They listen to you. If you tell them to fight, they'll fight. But they need to be inspired, and let's face it, 'Superman'...the last time you really inspired anyone... was when you were dead." -- Batman, to Superman, Infinite Crisis, issue 1

Yes because terroist acts never happened before 9/11 -_- People only started using that word after the attacks on the Twin Towers. People like Timothy McVeigh back in 1995 (six years before 9/11) were never called terrorists.Well, looking back at the article, it's gotta be BOTH Columbine and the USA PATRIOT Act.

I really hate how that word is thrown around. Everything's a "terroristic threat". Everyone is a "terrorist". It's irritating.peachvampiress wrote:

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

The Patriot Act has nothing to do with this case. The Patriot Act involves the government suspending privacy rights to people who are suspected terrorists. The police didn't suspend this guy's privacy. The police did the right thing--his grandparents didn't read the whole story, reported him as having threatened the school. It's now, where the prosecution KNOWS that the story wasn't a threat, that they are being stupid.DuoTheShinigami02 wrote:Well, looking back at the article, it's gotta be BOTH Columbine and the USA PATRIOT Act.Sailorasteroid wrote:I would say this is more a result of the Columbine and other school shootings than 9/11.
