I first heard about this show in our TV Guide. The article stated that there must be something about Americans and quirky live shows. I have no idea how well the foxymorons are faring over there (my guess is that they're so Aussie and "noy-ice, diff-rent and un-yew-shual" that you guys wouldn't get the joke), and apparently only good reviews have kept Arrested Development going to a second season.
Unfortunately, not only is it on FOX, but it's also one of the best live shows of recent years (right up there with Firefly). So that means it could go any day now in favour of either the next unreality show (seriously, any day now they might be shooting each other) or American Dad (which will probably also be cancelled).
For those who've never watched the show, it's about the Bluth family. The Patriarch, George Sr, is a former CEO of the Bluth Company, a contracting agency. George Sr. has been arrested for fraud. His wife, Lucille, is the manipulative mother of four--four if you count the adopted Korean child Annyong. These four--Michael, Lindsay, Byron ("Buster") and George Oscar ("G.O.B", pron. Job)-- are adults, and two have children of their own. Lindsay is against circumcision (and married to an actor), Byron is incapable of running a company, and GOB sank the family yacht. So why is Michael smiling in the family photo at the start of the series? It's because he'll never talk to these people again.
Or at least, that's what he thinks...
I should probably urge you guys to watch next season, as this is one of the best shows on TV and needs the attention, so *urge urge urge*
EDIT: Whoops...wrong forum.

I absolutely LOVE Arrested Development. My Dad used to watch it, and I'd wonder what he was laughing about, so I decided to watch with him. It's absolutely hysterical. I think our favorite episode is when some sort of family consultant goes to the Bluth family. They tell Buster to stay hidden. So..heh..whenever we saw him, he'd be wearing a shirt/outfit that matched the wallpaper. It was absolutely hilarious.
I love watching it. *^^*
And the relationship problems between Lindsay and Tobias is so....heheh. And I totally think George Michael should tell you-know-who that he likes her.
Can you believe that I didn't realize that the grandfather and his twin brother were played by the same person? XD;

*gasp* I had no idea Buster had a real name, or that Gob was an abbreviation. And I watch the show every time it's on! I (heart) it. It's hilarious, and none of the actors in it are very famous (well, excluding the narrator and George Sr. and Lucille Two/Too), so that makes it even better, personally. Poor Michael, having to take care of that wacky family. And his house, man that house rocks, and I think it's totally hilarious and ironic that the narrator always refers to it as "the model home" when it's obviously anything but. Gob's my favorite character, I think, but each character has their own little quirks that makes them just...funny. Timo-timo-timocil! *sings* (the spelling's probably way off)Byron ("Buster") and George Oscar ("G.O.B", pron. Job)--
