That's it! Steppenwolf! Sorry, it's on the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack, and I only gave a cursory look. It's Steppenwolf.

Personally I LOVE Mariah Carey's remake of "Without You" (no clue who sang it orginally though) but genreally I don't love remakes, just something about orginals is better in my opinion.

Harry Nilsson, who also did "Coconut," which was also on the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack
Yeah, I've watched a lot of those "50's/60's/70's Gold" infomercials so I know a lot of these.

Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

I agree to a point. If they had done covers of those songs back in 1997 when they were kids, they would have been bad. I'll admit, even though I am a Hanson fan, I can't remember the last time I listened to their debut album. I only listen to their new stuff now (2000- 2005). They are around our ages now (24, 21, 19) and fortunately, they no longer have the high pitched, girlish voices. At the time they first came out, I heard MMMBop on the radio first, and I couldn't tell if it was guys or girls singing. I knew for sure there was at least one guy singing... but yeah ^_^
I have the live versions of the covers I listed. However, I only have them on VHS and DVD. I don't know how I can make quality tracks out of those. My digital camera and mp3 player do have recording capabilities, but the tracks always come out really quiet and you have to blast your speakers to hear them. I could still make the crappy tracks if you want them though, so you could judge the covers for yourself if you like.
But given that our tastes in music are so completely different, I doubt that you'll like the covers ^_^

No thanks. I'm not really a fan of their style of music either. I'll stick with my Garbage, Gawth Rawck, and the various indie bands that populate my iTunes.

I know this is getting off topic, but I'm totally clueless. Just what genre does Garbage and Gawth Rawk play? I'm guessing metal... or something... I have no idea.

Garbage is Industrial Rock. "Gawth Rawck" isn't a band, it's just what I call the Goth-esque Rock bands in my playlist. Marilyn Manson (though he's more Industrial, really), Placebo, Evanescence, Kill Hannah... That kind of band. Most of what I listen to is either those types of music, or weird, off-the-wall music (Dresden Dolls, Deerhoof) or Indie Stuff (Ted Leo and the Pharmacists).
And yes. Back on topic.
Which actually ties into this. Dresden Dolls did a live cover of "Stand By Your Mine," and I love it.

That "It's my Party" song hasn't been covered but it was sampled in a rap song by Fabolous.. They don't seem to remake a lot of songs in rap, just sampling.
As for cover songs I like (original artist name is parenthesis)
Take on Me- Reel Big Fish (Aha)
Oi to the World- No Doubt (The Vandals)
Love to Love You Baby- No Doubt (Donna Summer)
Bohemian Rhapsody- The Braids (Queen)
There's a lot more and I like some of them more than the originals.
Has Garbage done any cover songs? Them doing a cover of a 90s rock song would be cool.
"This guy are sick."- Aeris (Final Fantasy VII)

They've done a cover of The Ramones "Can't Seem to Make You Mine" (which is strange, because Garbage is not an acoustic band), and they've also done a cover of The Beatles "Day Tripper." Neither were on a CD, though. They were just concert things, and I have the live mp3s. ^^

Oh cool, I'll have to look for those! Yeah they aren't an acoustic band but I love their acoustic version of "Only Happy When It Rains"

I don’t have it on mp3 anymore. Sorry ^^; That version by The Braids is R&B. It was from a movie soundtrack, forgot which one. Their version is not even as long as the original song.
The Braids aren't he only ones to cover Bohemian Rhapsody. Faye Wong, the singer who sang "Eyes on Me" from FF8 also covered it during a live peformance. I used to have the mp3
Queen’s is way more dramatic than either cover, but i like the two covers for what they are.

I have another one to add to the list. Muse's cover of "You're Just Too Good to be True (Can't Take my Eyes Off of You)" is wonderful (I don't know the actual name of that song, nor the artist. ^^;;).
Also, here's hoping for a good cover of "Don't You Want Me Baby." Because.....it has been recorded by Shirley Manson and Marilyn Manson. Two of my favourite people. I could squeal and orgasm in delight. Unfortunately, neither artist is putting the song on their respective next albums, so I'll have to find it somewhere else.

Can't Take My Eyes off of You is by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons originally.
Don't You Want Me Baby was first done by Human League.

I completely forgot to mention that I love Hanson's cover of Money (That's What I Want)! I have no clue who sings it though because so many bands covered it, including the Beatles. I also would love to see Hanson cover that song which I have no clue what the title is or who it's by. It goes like "Down on the corner, down in the street.." It's an older song from the 1960's or something.
