Let's talk about wrestling (as in WWE, TNA, etc.)

It seems that both ECW reunion shows (One Night Stand and Hardcore Homecoming) went well.
Speaking of ONS, the critics are saying that this is the best WWE-produced PPV this year!
The greatest thing to happen is that Triple H and Nipple H didn't show up, only Vince and Shane, though off-screen.
And Stone Cold's appearance at the end was surprising, but then again, he used to be in ECW!
But a big thumbs down to JBL for his post-show antics (giving The Blue Meanie a shoot [real] punch)!

I watched wrestling for the first time on Sunday with Dan, it was the ECW PPV thing. I enjoyed it perhaps more than I want to admit... wrestling definitely seems like a guilty pleasure
I'm not gonna go into technical stuff but I really was pretty impressed by some of the moves and stunts these guys can perform. Um, and I liked Super Crazy
hehe
One thing I will gripe about was that I could have done without a lot of the stupid talking and filler, and the whole 'invasion' thing was just plain lame.

Yep, ONS was just plain awesome. It was great to relive all those ECW memories. I kinda wish that there wasn't any air time with the WWE "crusaders" but it did allow for some great crowd chants. My only complaint with ONS was that various words from the ECW guys were bleeped out. That was a big disappointment to me, especially with this ECW PPV costing about $10 more than they did back in the day. If I pay that much money for a PPV, then part of that should be to hear those words, not to pay someone to try so hard to keep them from airing. It's fucking pay per view, not network television, no reason for that shit.
Bleeps aside though, ONE was definetly the best WWE produced PPV this year hands down, probably the best one in a good few years. I throughouly enjoyed it and will definetly be watching my tape multiple times. Also, it's awesome that they're actually having encores of the PPV all week long. It's been so many years since I've ever seen an encore of a wrestling event be offered, especially as long as this one will be.

Watched this week's episode of Raw, and here's the short results:
Carlito (3rd draft pick for Raw) pins Shelton Benjamin for the Intercontinental Title
Edge/Lita wedding; Kane crashes the wedding! I love how they played Matt Hardy's entrance music, and he doesn't show up! Talk about rubbing it in Matt's face! Hey, it's Matt's fault that he got released from the WWE!
John Cena FINALLY ends Muhammad Hassan's winning streak on Raw
Batista defeats Kurt Angle by DQ after Triple H and Flair interferes, thus setting up an impromptu tag match between Trips and Angle vs. Batista and HBK
Trips/Angle beats Batista/HBK; after the victory, Trips does his usual smack talk towards Batista, bragging that he'll get the title back for the "11th" time, blah blah blah...

YOU'RE FIRED!
At least 20 wrestlers were given their releases, with the 90-day no-compete clause in effect.
http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/releases
Their (WWE's) loss becomes The Jeff Jarrett Show's (aka TNA) gain.
But on the brighter side, there are rumors that Brock Lesnar might be returning to the WWE. If I were Vince, I would play hardball with him after the way he left after WM20.

Wow, pretty interesting seeing some of the people who are on the list. Matt Morgan is the big suprise for me, since they've been pushing him alot lately. A few others I didn't think I'd ever see get released anytime soon are a bit of a shock too. Hopefully they'll end up somewhere good, probably TNA as you say. Speaking of which, I've learned recentally that you can watch TNA online, which is pretty cool since I'll finally be able to watch it. As for Brock Lesnar possibly coming back, I'm mixed about. I was never a Lesnar fan and really hated how he was just handed everything on a silver platter and jumped from bottom to top in less than 6 months time. Then leaving when being in the company for only 2 years and spoiled to hell during that entire time was just wrong. Guess he realized he had a good thing going for him on the WWE. I personally wouldn't want him back, but it could be good for business so meh.

Tonight on Raw, Matt "F'n" Hardy made his return to Raw, and beat the crap on Edge and Lita, and then told the WWE to kiss his ass!
Can anyone say, "worked shoot?"
Also, Shawn Michaels explained on Piper's Pit on why he attacked Hulk Hogan after last week's match. HBK said that he wants to challenge Hogan to one... more... match... at Summerslam!
Speaking of Summerslam, Bischoff booked John Cena against Chris Jericho for the WWE Title!
So far, here are my preliminary card for SS 2005:
WWE Championship: Cena vs. Jericho
Michaels vs. Hogan
Edge vs. Matt Hardy (as soon as he's finished with his commitments, and if he decides to return to the WWE)

Meh, my VCR got set an hour ahead for some reason, so I missed everything after Kurt Angle came out. Interestingly though, on WWE.com's results page, it makes no mention of Matt Hardy at all. Kinda weird, since you would think him showing up on screen would be a pretty big deal.DuoTheShinigami02 wrote:Tonight on Raw, Matt "F'n" Hardy made his return to Raw, and beat the crap on Edge and Lita, and then told the WWE to kiss his ass!

It looks like that the WWE is finally giving in to UPN's pressure, as they may have no choice but to drop the Muhammad Hassan character from Smackdown, due to the London bombings, after the Great American Bash PPV.
Smackdown was taped on Tuesday, but it was aired on Thursday, that day when the terrorist attacks took place. To me, that was bad timing, given that it was too late to edit the segment off (it was edited for the UK version, though).

Meh, I'm mixed on this one. While I don't care much for Hussan's angle and winning by screwjobs most of the time, he does have some good in-ring talent and shouldn't be dropped just because of what happened. I could go on more, but that would take this thread way off from wrestling. However, it's a pity that there are still people who can't see the line between fantasy and fiction, and have to ruin things for the majority since things may be "offending". Don't watch fictionious shows then, and actually listen to warnings of such things about to happen, there were 4 before that segment aired, plenty of time to turn off the tv and cease all problems.

Hey everyone. Wrestling fan since 7 years of age. Grew up on WWF and WCW. My favorite's are Ultimo Dragon, Tigar Mask 1-4, Rey Mysterio Jr., Kazushi Sakuraba. Nowadays, I tend to pay attention to the Japanese circuit as well as MMA action like UFC and PrideFC. To me, these seem a bit more entertaining. (japanese gimmicks are great) But I've missed out on the great domestic stuff too. Since my cable's been cut, I haven't been able to follow any storylines of WWE as of these past 6 months. Glad to see some other wrasslin fans.

I also forgot to mention that starting in October, TNA's Impact will finally be broadcasted on Spike TV on Saturday nights!
But of course, here's what TNA needs to do in order to complete against the WWE:
1. GET JEFF JARRETT AWAY FROM THE WORLD TITLE PICTURE! To those who complain about Triple H, Jarrett's even worse, as he pulled out of the main event at Slammiversary when he found out that he's not going to win the title.
2. Try to hire Paul Heyman, once his WWE contract expires
3. Try to push the young guns, and don't rely on big names ("Big Lazy" Nash, etc.)
4. Push the tag-team division

The talk of last week is that Bret Hart has FINALLY returned to the WWE to co-produce a DVD about him (tentatively called "Screwed: the Bret Hart Story", now called "The Best There is, Was, and Ever Will Be: The Bret Hart Story"). Looks like he's going to be a shoo-in for the 2006 Hall of Fame, and that the Montreal Ordeal can FINALLY be put to rest, depending on how things go.
Speaking about inductions, WCW's Great American Bash '91 (AKA the "We Want Flair" show) is FINALLY inducted into www.WrestleCrap.com! Liked that Photoshop job of plastering Mr. Clean's head on Slick Ric, which goes on to show how out of touch Jim Herd is!

It's taken me quite a while to formulate my exact thoughts on wrestlin to make a moderately decent post.
I have been watching wrestling for as long as I can remember. Ah the blissful days of being 4 and sitting with my daddy watching men in tights beating each other senseless. I was a very faithful watcher. The first time I lost faith in wrestling was the release of my dear Too Sexy Brian Christopher or to you newere people Grand Master Sexay. Granted it was his fault and I accept that it was still deathly traumatizing. It took me a while to regain my faith in the WWF when they decide to do the branch split. I might state worst idea ever in my honest opinion. After that I have yet to watch anything despite the brief return of my beloved GMS. I still checked up on it somewhat. Old habits do die hard but it's hard for me not being able to watch my favorites tear each other apart. And to the best of my knowledge it is still going on. *sobs*

Looks like that TNA has jumped the shark again, now that Triple J (Jeff Jarrett) has recaptured the NWA title at a house show in Ontario, yesterday.
Just when TNA was going to get good (after having quality PPVs for two straight months and having Raven FINALLY capturing the NWA title; oh, and Impact debuting on Spike TV coming October 1), they have to start over from Square 1 again.
To those who constantly complain about Triple H, you are obiously overlooking Jarrett.

Eddie Guerrero: 1967-2005
I learned today that Eddie had died today.
I'm shocked.
And I was hoping that he would beat Batista for the World Title at this week's Smackdown.
