Drawn Together

Post by Jonathan » Wed Dec 29, 2004 12:59 am

Has anyone seen this show on Comedy Central? It's so damn funny. It's a reality show with 6 or 7 different types of characters (Princess, Superman, Hot girl, Betty Boop look-alike, etc.)

It's really funny. Not as funny as Southpark but damn close to it!

I have wanted to see this since it came out, but I haven't been able to catch it yet.

I loved the line from the advertisement: "You could cut the tension with a +6 sword."

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I love it, so much I'd say it's the best animated show they've aired since South Park. The concept intrigued me, and the delivery was awesome. I caught all but the last episode of the batch they've aired so far, and have loved every moment thus far. There's even been points where I have died laughing with how far they've taken the bar, and there's very few shows I can say that about.

One thing that kinda get's to me, being an avid Cartoon Network fan, is that Foxy Love's voice is done by the same person as Numbah 5 in Codename: Kids Next Door. It's like, errie, hearing the two characetrs within a couple hours of eaco other, heh. ^^;;;

My little sister loves this show. I've only seen one episode, but from what I've seen I like it.

I caught the last five minutes of one episode while waiting for The Daily Show, and in those 5 minutes they managed to get in a visual scatalogical joke. So I'll not be watching again.
Things I think Are Funny Early in the Morning: If Batman were a Smurf: "Quick, Robin! We must smurf down to the Batcave and smurf the Batplane! Then we must smurf the batsmurf so we can smurf where the Joker is smurfing!"

Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

I've seen a couple episodes of the show, and I love it. I don't get to watch it often, however, because while I'm at college I'm usually busy at night doing homework, and while I'm home I have Toon Disney, which airs old X-men episodes at 10:30 and 11, which is when Drawn Together comes on. ^^

That sounds like a great show! I've never heard of it. How new is the show? If it's fairly new, then it'll probably be at least six months to a year before it comes to Canada, if it even comes to this side of the border at all :(

Drawn Together is a very new show. It only started airing this year, in answer to RoastedTwinkies-san's question.

At first, I thought it was a very weird show, but the more I watched, the funnier it got. Now it's one of my favorite shows.

I've watched it since the beginning, and I absolutely LOVE it. My mom and I watch it every wednesday, which I think is great, because she HATES South Park, but loves Drawn Together. Also:
One thing that kinda get's to me, being an avid Cartoon Network fan, is that Foxy Love's voice is done by the same person as Numbah 5 in Codename: Kids Next Door. It's like, errie, hearing the two characetrs within a couple hours of eaco other, heh. ^^;;
That's Cree Summer. She also does the voice of Suzy Carmichael on Rugrats (that's her original role, I think), and does the voice of Numbah 5's older sister, Cree. She also does T-what's-his-face's voice on The Proud Family, and a score of other voices. Toot's voice may also sound familiar: It's Bubbles from The Power Puff Girls, or Timmy from Fairly Oddparents.

Long before she was Suzy, she was Elmyra on Tiny Toon Adventures, and later on Pinky, Elmyra, and The Brain. And I always think of that character when I hear her.

Yup. Her name is Tara Strong. She did Rikku's voice in Final Fantasy and she also does Princess Clara's voice.

I thought it was really funny when:
Xandir cried and said "Be Strong, Xandir..." after his genie/boyfriend was stolen for no reason whatsoever.
It's hilarious.

I KNEW I had heard that voice somewhere before. I wasn't much of a Rugrats watcher (didn't have cable until 9th grade) but I watched Tiny Toons religiously. Now I'm always going to think about Elmyra too whenever I hear her voice. @_@;;;

ACTUALLY, she's been doing voice acting alot longer than that. Her first role was in '83 in Inspector Gadget as Penny. Though she only lasted a year as Penny. Everytime I hear her voice, I'm remidned of the old Sonic Cartoons (the good one, not the terrible ones with Scratch and grounder). She played the dragon. You can see her full credit list at IMDB.

And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

Wow, I knew she did a LOT, but not that much (Cree, that is). I knew she did more than what I mentioned, but my brain went stupid when I was trying to think of other stuff. I used to watch Tiny Toons all the time, too, but I never made that connection (well, I was little), and the same with Inspector Gadget.
Anyway, back to Drawn Together; Xandir is probably my favorite character. My favorite part is when Captain Hero (I think, maybe it was Toot) says "that's all he's said since he got here! 'I'm on a neverending quest to save my girlfriend!'" and it cuts to Xandir saying "We're out of paper towels!" and "Grapes are FUN!" and one other thing. "Grapes are FUN!"=best. line. ever. XD Also, Ling-Ling and his dishes protest was pretty funny too.

Toot was the one who said it, in the first episode.

Ling Ling is my favorite character from that show. The thing that is funniest about him is how everyone misinterprets him all the time.

I love Drawn Together. Possibly the best new animated show that came out this year. Like many others, my favorite character is Ling Ling.

I just saw the show yesterday. It was pretty funny, but weird at the same time.

It was the episode with the "octopussoir".

I did set to record so I could see it again, though.

My favorite character is Toot. The things she does and says are so freakin funny.

Toot: Well, if I can't be the sex symbol, I can definately be the Bitch!

Her eyes got all firey and she said "bitch" with a deep and dark voice. Just thinkin about that cracks me up.

My boyfriend and I try to watch it every time its on. i love the episode where Xander tries to kill himself after he finds out hes gay, and well, those of you who saw it know what im talking about. I dont want to ruin it for those who havent seen it, ya just have to watch it. that episode is frickin hilarious.
Mia Wallace: "You heard, Marcellus threw Tony Rocky Horror out of a 4 story window, for giving me a foot massage?"
Vincent Vega: "mmm mm."
Mia: " and you believed that?"
Vincent: "well, at the time I was told it seemed reasonable."
Mia: "Marcellus throwing Tony out of a 4 story window, for massaging my feet, seemed resonable to you?"
Vincent: "It sounded excessive but that doesnt mean it didnt happen. I mean, I understand that Marcellus is very, very protective of you."
Mia: "A husband being protective of his wife is one thing. A husband almost killing another man for touching his wifes' feet is something else. "
