;_; I still feel sorry for the bees. Poor bees.

And hey, Bob...the 80's called. They want their slang back.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Bees scare me horribly, I could NOT be in CA right now.

Though the story is pretty interesting...

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

That was actually in Las Vegas, Nevada, not CA. CA is where the truck was heading.

And I'm also afraid of bees... *shiver*

Oops ^^;; I only skimmed the article. In any case, I couldn't anywhere near the city it was in.

O.o;;; Oh my gosh, it does!

As to not get totally off topic, how are they gonna get ALL the bees, or are they just going for the majority?

They hit them with water. It's like when you see a bee stuck in a swimming pool.

I think that the bees' reaction to falling off the side of a freeway would probably be to swarm around the general area, especially considering that's where their colonies would be after the landing. Protective response and all that. It shouldn't be too hard to get them all.

I'm no fan of bees either, but killing them all... Why? It bothers me that they made the bees pay for the driver's mistake.

They got them with a mixture of soap and water.

And they swarmed around one of the pillars holding up the overpass. It was pretty freaking cool.

They killed all the bees without problems I assume. It's not like they were going anywhere. They all just hung out there. Then they just cleaned up the remains of the hives and things are back to normal. Which is sad cause I wanted to see them make a super hive out of that pillar. Oh well.

That is just so sad. The bees were going to help out and then an accident like that happens. Then they're homeless and killed to prevent injury. Life is just not fair to bees.

I'm no bee fan, but I love what they do for nature. *sniff* It's just not fair! *gets a tissue*

:P perhaps they killed all the bees so that one of them (not a normal, HUMAN bee) wouldn't fly into the windsheild of a Voot cruiser and cause a wreck? :P Seriously, tho, that is a LOT of freakin' bees. I think they were probably killed because they were homeless and might have just died anyway, but I'm no expert on bees and whether or not they can recolonize after a hive is destroyed and whether or not they're territorial. Damn that's a lot of bees.

The main concern (I'm assuming) is the danger to humans. All kinds of people ride along a freeway, even those with bee-alergies. Bee's are VERY capable of rebuilding after destruction. If the queen is killed than a one of the drones takes on the role of queen and the colony starts over. Furthermore, European Honey Bees can be territorial within short distances. However, the risk of Africanization is large in warm southern climates and "Africanized Killer Bees" are territorial within a 1 mile radius. Therefore, the bees had to be killed (unfortunately) for human safety.
